Leave the Classic foes alone. Just let’s this Disney backed era die. It doesn’t deserve to be saved. All they would do is turn Sontarans into all female villains. Thats their mindset.

A new showrunner - link to Classic Who and totally disassociated with Rtd, Moffat and Chibnall. Better scripts, instructing Ncuti to butch it up a few notches, stop using terms like "Honey" and "babes", stop wearing silly fashionista outfits on photographic shoots, to stop bearing his chest - and for him to adopt some gravitas and to not play himself. Ummmm ... this list could go on for a while .. 😅

I'd love to see the War Machines/Wotan make a surprise return, and also, the Rutans would be great as a twist return villain, but their returns need to be well-written also, the Mara, Omega, Morbius, the Valeyard (as an over-aching greater threat main villain, perhaps with Omega as a red-herring antagonist), Axos & the Kynoids (coincidently & un-connected in the same story, invading at the same time while the Doctor has to figure out how to defeat them both), the Tractators, Sil, and (specifically) the (original) Black Dalek Supreme (last seen in 'Remembrance of the Daleks' as the true arch-enemy (seemingly turned ally of the Doctor but obviously its all a trick), War chief from 'The War Games' (and seeing him regenerating into the Roger Delgado incarnation of the Master) and the Raston Warrior Robots.

Since we have all powerful beings maybe Fenric? It'd be a reassuring statement of intent to have Davros back and in the chair (or in Remembrance's emperor getup). It's a shame RTD gave Family of Blood that naff ending, seeing them return would be great. Timelords - Absolutely, it was insane to undo the 10 years leading upto them Weeping Angels - Only as a plot device connected to the timelords, on their own they are spent becuase they were written for a one off without dialogue. A single motive and no way to really have a variety of plots. Autons - I was never a Pertwee fan as a kid so the first time I saw them was when I came back to the show in my uni days - they didn't do anything for me. I thought they were laughable in Rose too. I thought they were most interesting in the pandorica opens (and no cheesy visuals) but they aren't a hook that would bring me back. The old Zygons never worked for me. I thought the new ones had to keep people around if they wanted their memories anyway? I mean if you can't accept the mild changes to the zygons there's never going to be a modern enemy that will satisfy you.

We need a CGI Alpha Centuri, and Gel Guards. Pure classic Who aliens.

The only thing that could save it at this point is for RTD to be relieved of all writing duties, and instead some proven talents in the sci-fi/fantasy/horror genre enlisted. Never mind spending money on expensive CGI (that somehow still looks oddly cheap!), spend that money getting decent writers in this genre. The show lasted sixty years with naff special effects but good stories, it'll be a nasty irony if it dies off because of the exact opposite.

The master and a new Doctor

Before this happens, they need to clean house. A new Doctor, a new show runner, and new writers that are committed to classic cannon. Also The Timeless Child needs to be undone. Only then would I trust the show to bring back classic villians.
