No offence but you are unwatchable. Your laugh is fake, you laugh at the the most unfunny things. You jump scare like the episode is like something like Paranormal Activity. Tbh, you love Disney too much, it's obvious you are a s.h.i.l.l!!!
It’s fine if you don’t like how I am or the things I like but “love Disney too much” I’m sorry, what video are you commenting on here? And you clearly haven’t seen a lot of my stuff because I complain about and criticize Disney A LOT.
That scene with The Doctor freaking out about the Flux, Timeless Child and being duped by Donna, now we know all the anger that 13 was keeping at bay. It was brilliant, that whole sequence
@@seamusburke639i honestly feel like the medium where 13 would properly shrine would be novelisations of her era. Idk why but I feel like her repressed demeanour belies a rich internal dialogue
@@MatthewCYN15 yes, I get that. I feel like the reason she didn't freak out much was because, when she got that face it was such a fresh start and she wanted to be positive about things and that's the side she decided to show the fam, so much that it became difficult for her to show them anything else so she started keeping a lot of it hidden. Otherwise, I've seen Jodie in other stuff and know that she's capable of emoting in pretty much the same way that 14 showed when he freaked out. But I like the continuing thread, showing that this wasn't just a passing thing and RTD has said we might see the 15th Doctor still being affected by those revelations as well. When the Doctor said he'd be okay in a million years, I don't think that was much of an exaggeration. It's always going to weigh on him in some capacity, unless they decide to confront it head on in some way someday.
I loved how they explained the fact that negativity sadly spreads further& faster than positivity. We need to send more love letters into the universe& less vitriol. I really enjoy coming to watch these shows with you. You just exude so much energy& happiness that I look forward to every episode with you. Whether it be a Marvel show, Doctor Who or anything fun& nerdy. Thank you for being here& being a bright light in the cosmos! Hope you're enjoying con, see you next time! Also, I about cried when I saw Wilf!❤
I can’t remember the exact quote or where it’s from but I heard once someone said “hate is loud, but I think you’ll find love runs much deeper”. I like to think that for as loud as hate and pain is, it’s just a noise, it’s gone as soon as it’s over. But love persists, it lasts, it has substance.
What an effective creepy episode. It has the combined unease of Midnight and the Impossible Planet/Satan’s Pit two-parter. Nothing against Jodie Whittaker’s acting but David Tennant sold me on the Doctor’s anguish over the Timeless Child and the Flux. I felt it more from this Doctor than 13. That last scene with Wilf, minus the dramatic cliffhanger, was an absolute delight. So happy we have the opportunity to see him again.
This was a balmy episode and so creepy but I love it , I keep having to remind myself that Tennant isn’t staying I just love having him back !!!! So is the movie gravity called mavity in the whoniverse lol. Great reaction❤
If I was Donna I would not be so calm at the fact that doctor pretty much nearly left her to die at an explosion😂 I know he can make mistakes but damn I always have an underlying subconscious confidence that most of the time nobody is going to die but I felt chills
Just a testament on how good those two are at acting! It was only 2 people talking for an hour and it was amazing! (Yes i realize there were likely stunt doubles aswell)
You missed the In Memoriam to Bernard Cribbins. That was his final appearance. More was written for next week, but he was unable to film it and died not much later.
Good catch on Mavity, you know that's coming back. I wtched a DIFFERENT channel that only wanted to talk about the race of an actor playing a part, you know, what actors do. ANYWAY. I am new to this channel but YOU BET I am staying. A true fan of Doctor Who. AND YES.. Seeing Bernard Cribbins (Wilf) again, hit me in the FEELS.
3:00 in researching if that misnaming was actually possible, I was surprised to find that the use of "gravity" to represent the "force of gravity" only dates to 1620 (still earlier than 1666, but it's hardly DW's biggest fudge). I'd assumed the fact that things fall towards the Earth would have had a name before, but apparently not a formal one. That said, the use of the word "gravity" to mean something of import (which I'd usually think of as the metaphorical use of the term) is actually at least a century older, from circa 1500.
What's really sad is this will be the only time you get to see wealth on screen. He died a couple weeks after this filming and then they may have some voice for the next one or something but as for actually seeing him I'm pretty sure I read this is it. Rest in peace kind sir
I absolutely loved this weirdly creepy episode, was very RTD, as i would expect from well RTD. And Wilfred, i love that man. I love that actor and i am sad that this is his one and only, final appearance in Doctor Who. Also. Discovery of Mavity!
Maybe people have theories on where these Doppelgangers came from, what their true form is. Some backstory. Ghosts or demons? Remind me of The Thing. Others mentioned Red Dwarf episode Legion. Event Horizon and Sam Raimi.
The Tennant part like the exorcist have Evil Dead vibes too. Pay homage to Raimi probably. This episode is close to Midnight and listen I love it so much
I love the fear of invoking a superstition The Doctor mentioned. I hope it turns into something cool. It felt out of place on 1st watch. But then I remembered the Timelords brought rationality to The Doctor's universe. So it's interesting to think irrational things like superstitions may have power on the edge of the rational universe established by the Time Lords.
I feel like this episode was to make everyone that wasn't gonna like The Star Beast shut up..lol, felt like a perfect classic Who episode. Nice self contained story..it maybe will connect to some of the other stuff but could've just been a way to introduce potential new fans into the type of content Who makes, and it was a crazy simple episode compared to the other 2 specials. I mean, like 2 or 3 sets, lots of green screen, only 2 actors for a huge amount of the episode..plus we got our boy back at the end for some fan service..lol, I read it was the last thing he filmed but maybe there was more they saved to show in the next episode, either way I'm pumped and dreading it at the same time. I know what's coming, and it breaks ya every time.
I liked this episode way more than part 1. Aside from the O.G. DOCTOR, WILLIAM HARTNELL, David Tennant is my favorite! Tom Baker is in my #2 spot (William H and David T are tied at #1) And that's largely based on the story lines as well as each actor's portrayal of the Doctor during those stories. ❤🔥🤓🙏 May the Force Be With You All!
If I was Donna I would not be so calm at the fact that doctor pretty much nearly left her to die at an explosion😂 I know he can make mistakes but damn I always have an underlying subconscious confidence that most of the time nobody is going to die but I felt chills also a shout out to Wilfred because that dude is a true soldier sitting there for like two days waiting for the Tardis to return
I absolutely loved this episode! I’m already dreading next week because I don’t want to say goodbye to David Tennant again. For me he’s the best Doctor ever! I loved the bisexual Doctor reveal and an alternative Isaac Newton. I’m sure the pearl clutching “anti woke” brigade are already out in full force. Imagine being that hateful and miserable all of the time. Lol Absolutely enjoyed your reaction and commentary!
Man, is what I keep thinking. Imagine not enjoying something because the anger fueled sentiments tell you not to. It'd be such a happier species to just enjoy good moments and not overthink everything to the end. I rly love the ep too!
Calling this a bisexual reveal feels a little weird to me. As a bisexual man I really think it’s a bit regressive to treat people openly expressing that individuals of the same sex are attractive as an indicator of sexuality. It would be nice to live in a world where straight men could compliment other men without that being assumed in the way girls can. I would love if my friends had been able to express that to me growing up. It would have made me a lot less insecure.
@@datboigroovin8200 it *did* seem that his remark of "that's who I am now* was more about being more expressive and not sexuality. Like in ep1 he said the same after saying how much he loved Donna.
The "Anti Woke Brigade" isn't nearly as "hateful" as you think. Maybe actually try talking to one like they're a human being with valid opinions instead of the devil in disguise, and see what they REALLY have to say about things. The only hateful people in this equation are the ones doing all the screaming about hate.
So these fellows are from the Void as the Eternals or not? I mean they do have that reading minds to form their ideas and concepts from other beings. Them and the Midnight one with the mimicking.
So, taking into account that we have been baited with faux teasers (regarding the appearances of Smith and Capaldi), do you think that the one where The Doctor accidentally names the Daleks is the same - or was a version they filmed and actually decided to change with the "mavity" scene to better prove the point?
I’m a very new fan to Doctor Who. I had never seen it before until very recently. I started with the 9th Doctor and binged the whole modern show in two months. Haven’t seen the Classic show yet but I plan to soon. For me, I wasn’t at all bothered by the Timeless Child plotline. It seemed to me from the get go that The Doctor was sort of a special amongst the Time Lords. So I just kinda took that in stride when it happened. I had some issues with Chibnall’s era from a writing standpoint, but as a brand new fan, that piece of lore just seemed like, oh yeah of course that makes sense to me. I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but for my experience with the show, I’m glad that RTD decided to stick with it and weave that and the Flux in to where The Doctor is at now emotionally. Their baggage is at an all time high and I’m glad they acknowledged that.
I seen that Wilfred Mott was supposed to have a bigger role in the next special but unfortunately this was the only thing Bernand was able to do :( RIP
Fun episode but race swapping an actual historical person is an odd decision to say the least. I do think you should represent real people as they were.
@@chaotic7cam I mean it was a fun episode but I don't think it was anything special, not much to talk about in it. We've already seen this kind of story a couple of times in Doctor Who. If they cast a POC as a different enthnicity then people would be up in arms, so I don't really think it should be acceptable here either. Sorry but it's absolutely a double standard and hypocritical.
I think it depends on the tone. In a serious biopic, I would say it matters more than in a funny bit, like here. I mean... Most have zero problem with Hamilton. Again because of its particular artistic tone. Also, we've been portaying Jesus as a white European for centuries. Maybe we should start there.
The incoherent tone really turned me off from this episode, I can tell this has the potential to be a grower. The highlight was Tennant’s performance in this episode, that scene in the hallway spoke volumes. I’m at a 6/10 with it rn, ig I was just expecting a little more from these anniversary specials. I’m so sad that this scene was the only thing they were able to shoot for Wilf, my favorite character in all of Dr Who. I’m kinda indifferent, but since Wilf’s in it then that makes it required viewing.
I did not like the episode, I thought it was a bunch of okay set pieces that didn't amount to a very good story; the mystery, from a writer's POV, is basically the worst mystery story I've ever seen, since all the answers are so flagrantly simplistic and obvious , but just made to be as obtuse as possible until you're outright told them in the final 5 minutes, which is not a good way to write a mystery story (this is such a noticable problem that even the episode itself lampshades this; but just being self-aware doesn't make up for bad writing). The psychological horror was alright, and I liked the stand off with the pair & their doubles, not knowing who is who. But even so, overall, I felt that the execution of this concept left a lot to be desired, and that the episode relies far too strongly on the "it's weird & unusual = it's good" strategy. From my perspective--I know this is how it was for me, but maybe others are different--It basically presents something so unusual that you have no reaction to it by the end other than a big emotional ball that you interpret as liking the episode. I, myself, felt like I loved this episode immediately after watching it. Then I actually sat back and thought about it, and I realised how badly the entire episode was written, and structured. The direction on many of the scenes were fantastic though, I will say, and the acting is phenomenal at points, especially considering that the David & Catherine were doing double duty the entire episode.
This was RTD's promise to us that the old style of Who is back. This was a simple classic great episode. It was Doctor and Donna on a spaceship with a scary but silly villain trying to take over the universe and he had to stop them. Simple... not frills. No cameos or tricks. It was just a good old cheesy and beautiful Doctor Who episode. I loved it!
I like RTD coming back for the specials, but I’m nervous about him coming back for the series with a new doctor. RTD had 9 and all 3 seasons of 10. Moffat has 11 and 12. The fact that Jodie and her showrunner have only been for her I think is a bit like give everyone a fair shot to write multiple doctors.
I didn't realize something until you said "It doesn't matter what we call something." It may be an intentional metaphor. People get riled up about trans agenda and pronouns. Someone being a different gender at birth and their chosen pronouns. In the end it's just words and shouldn't matter. So why make some people such a big deal out of it? They may laugh at the mavity-gravity-situation, but start making a fuss about someone wanting to be called by a different pronoun.
Wow, great observation. About the idea that hate travels further and faster than even light. I haven't heard anyone else make that connection and I think you're absolutely right.
No no , that is definitely just fictional pseudo-science mambo jambo! Nothing in this universe can travel faster than 300.000 km/s; not light, radiowaves, ideas or consequences. And also, I doubt that an octopus, mushroom or tardigrade can understand the concept of “hate”, and these are beings that live on our own planet right next to us.
I’m so old that Bernard Cribbins was the voice of my childhood. He used to narrate The Wombles stories on tv when I was just a toddler and he read stories to kids on children’s tv for decades on the BBC. When he appeared as Wilf on Doctor Who it was like having my Grandad on the show. To see people grow to love him through Doctor Who and see how moved so many people were at his brief appearance here is beautiful. His reaction to seeing Fourteen felt genuine and raw and it makes me cry every time I see it. RIP to our Grandad Cribbins ❤
I wonder if the fake Doctor forgot to keep the tie existing, or if it was more like...they didn't even have the _concept_ of object permanence down yet. Even babies don't figure that one out until about eight months old, supposedly.
Me watching the "mavity" thing happen in the episode while I watched it with friends: "but that's not how language works!" my friend: "it is now!" It's hilarious but also i am suffering because i am at heart a total nitpicker about all the stupid little things Also, is it just me or does this episode feel like a nightmare? I don't mean purely in terms of creepy vibes, I mean it like in that specific combination of absurd and a little unreal and also creepy
11:20 - Of all the things I never had on my list of stuff Doctor Who would do an extended tonal and aesthetic shoutout to, Event Horizon is definitely one of those things. Well spotted, Omni.
just found your channel. love watching others react to Doctor who. I'm the only one in my social circle that watches doctor who, so these videos make me feel like im watching it with friends. about the episode: The graphics looked off at times, but thats why it was creepy. it went into the uncanny valley, knowing the arms shouldn't be like that is what was super creeppy for me. I wonder if the salt thing is going to pop up and be used against the Toy Maker.
Omn1, so smart! I have watched a ton of these reaction and review videos. Not one person perceived the gist of what it would mean to be at the end of the universe, i.e. light has not yet arrived, etc. Thanks!
Are we supposed to notice that the glass door at the end was the same glass wall the meep had in her ship? Same shape, same decorative symbols etched on the glass. I’m not sure if it was just economy of reusing props or something more.
@@BryanTheDM Not at all, this was worse than usual, the giant versions of the doctor and donna were fucking awful. There's a difference between charmingly poor effects and gcse media project level effects.
