This sounds like a nightmare, you wake up in the hospital after having a car accident and then they’re telling you had a baby

The title is stupid, you don't need consent to perform an emergency procedure. You're saving a life

Imagine waking up to find out you have a baby that you didn't even know about😭

Thats what a emergency c section is they don't have time to ask if you want one or not 😂

This is not “without consent” in medicine this is known as IMPLIED CONSENT

I'm a nurse and if it is an emergency situation, meaning life or death, the doctors do not need consent to perform an emergency procedure.

Technically, they did have consent to perform the C-section. In this case, consent was implied because both her and the baby’s life were in danger. Therefore, consent was implied.

I found out I was pregnant at 19. I ran freaked out and ran downstairs, but my mum caught my arm as she was going upstairs. She asked if I was pregnant. She delivered her granddaughter a few months later. Some Mums just know!!! 💕💕💕

Bleeding during pregnancy is not an actual period but can be mistaken for it. I had four "periods" before learning I was pregnant. I had had a ruptured cyst bleed into my tubes and had been told pregnancy was extremely unlikely. I didn't conceive for more than a year with no birth control. I had no morning sickness, no cravings, actually lost weight. I was simply more easily fatigued than normal. Then I felt a small mass in my lower abdomen. Off to the doctor who was certain it was a tumor. Because I was in my 20's, he had to run a pregnancy test before admitting me to the hospital for exploratory surgery. I thought it might be another cyst. My tumor weighed over 8 pounds and went on to earn a doctorate. I was 22 weeks along when diagnosed. Felt movement a bit over a week later. I met a woman in an emergency waiting room who was carrying a baby wrapped in a towel. It was her second and she had not known she was pregnant at all. She was hanging out laundry when she had one huge "stomach cramp" and out plopped a full term baby. She had lost over 60 pounds in the last year because she and her husband wanted another child and they were having trouble conceiving- or so they thought! The idiot receptionist had told her to take a seat and wait despite hearing she had just given birth. And not noticing, I guess, the umbilical cord running from the towel under her skirt! I grabbed a triage nurse and she got mother and baby into a wheelchair and off to L&D. The husband had to be notified to pick up the 4 year old at preschool, get the grandma to help with him, and then get to the hospital. It wasn't until he got there that he learned about the baby. He fainted and grandma nearly did. An ER nurse friend told me they had just had a 13 year old come in with "stomach flu" that was a full term baby. Even after the delivery, the poor child insisted it could not be here because she had never kissed a boy. This was in the 90's. My friend said despite being scrawny, the girl did not look pregnant when she walked in. And then there are cases when the woman is just plain in denial.

Don't you love how her Mom goes from worrying about her daughter to being surprised with a grandbaby.. I'd be so grateful my daughter was okay, after fearing the worst, no way I'd be upset about the little surprise.😍

My mom is friends with this woman who also didn’t know she was pregnant all the way through her pregnancy, apparently the baby was positioned in a weird way, to where her stomach stay mostly flat the entire time.

I see the whole “how do you not know you’re pregnant” bullshit in the comments of all of these videos. Let me explain something. Not all pregnancies are the same. Not even the first and second pregnancy of the same woman are guaranteed to be similar. Some women’s bellies don’t balloon up, some women get spotting and think it’s their period, some women have extremely irregular periods where it’s normal to miss months at a time or have bc that stops their periods. It’s easy to misinterpret pregnancy symptoms, and some women really don’t get any at all. It’s not always black and white, it’s not always obvious.

Her daughter is gorgeous. And so is she. And she is brave. And her mother is amazing.

Oh bless her. I’m so glad the love of that child reached her. No matter where I have lived, no matter where I worked, no matter what was going on in my life, my 3 children loved me unconditionally. Now I have 8 AMAZING grandchildren

In the medical field, this is what we know as called implied consent. If a patient is unresponsive and identity unknown, then the medical staff does everything in their power to keep you alive. Also can we talk about how that nurse just casually extubated that patient? And how the patient was super calm and able to talk clearly right after. The magic of reenactment.

I was pregnant with twins and not knowing until i was 6 to 7 months along. I didn't feel them move i did eat so much i gain alot of weight i blamed it on mexican food i was going to high school i was 18 at the time. I took 100 store pregnancy test all said not pregnant i had a dr pee test i had blood test even a pap said i wasn't prego next it was the ultra sound then next thing there a baby boy then the nurse said i see something else i had my little nephew with me at the time he fell off the chair i almost fell off the table then she said its another baby i said 2 she looked to make sure no other ones and she said congrats on twins its a boy and girl. I cried there dad left thinking i was one of them girls will lie to keep a man when i dont pull them b.s crap. So i am looking at the screen and you see them both kicking eachother in the butt they are 16 years old now and they still fight. My son kicked my daughter up to my ribs so he was a big chunky baby he loves hot food and peanut butter she was smaller i had to get her clothes at toys r us from cabbage patch dolls all the baby clothes was to big on her. I never thought women can not tell being pregnant until you go threw something like the other person went threw. My twins are my mircle babies they changed my life around and grew up. Being a mom is the best thing in the world. I have 3 teenagers and i dont look 34.

Exactly 2 years ago was 26 weeks pregnant complaining about breathing. I was found unconscious in my bed. I woke up a week later intubated. I was asked if my stomach was OK. And told I had an emergency c section. It was without my consent. The Hospital saved both our lives. I knew I was pregnant but the surprise was it was a boy and the whole time I was told in ultrasound it was a girl.

My sister had seizures her entire second pregnancy with no record of seizures before and no epilepsy. She also did not have preclampsia! They don't know why it happened they just knew it was a "side effect" of the pregnancy. As soon as she delivered the seizures stopped. The dr actually didn't believe she was having seizures for a while. They just thought she was passing out. Until she had a seizure while attending a court hearing for someone else and had to be transferred to the emergency room from the court house.
