i have neuralgia in the left side of my left foot, due to a piece of shrapnel that was removed by an inept army surgeon 50 years ago. it can be agony sometimes. i even asked my neurologist if amputation would stop it. so not so dumb. she explained imprintation on the brain and used the guy with no legs that complains about his foot itching as an example. some folks commit suicide (particularly with trigeminal) due to neuralgia. i have a gun collection, and yes the thought has crossed my mind.

Not a doc, but nursing supervisor at the time (male). Got called to the ED as a young man was gluing fletches on arrows, and had to urinate. Some alcohol may have been consumed, too. Staff couldn’t stop laughing at the guy with his fingers glued to his penis long enough to acetone him loose. I did it, but he forgave my shaking shoulders as he was laughing too by then at the absurdity. The triage nurse was never the same, though.

I always eat cherry and swallow the pit. At least when I was 8-10 yo, since now you can not even saw cherry in the fruits part of markets. I remember eating a lot of them, like almost 1-1,5kg (2-3lbs) and I never had problems with that. I not even saw them getting out.

Let’s see. Guy got lost in the sewers. He came across a very narrow opening. Not realizing the opening was through a fat berg, he wiggled in, and got stuck. He was removed in two pieces. First half was by us. Second half was recovered while breaking up the fat berg. The guy was already dead by then. We didn’t realize he’d been cut in half until we pulled him free. Yes, there was some panicking over whether it was our fault.

Guy in my neighborhood had a "clogged" muzzle loder rifle. He was blowing down the barrel while his buddy picked at the flash hole with a pick. The pick made a spark. Guy lost his head.

Doctors call patients 'dumb' when patients, who are not medically trained, do not understand the Dr''s jargon. Doctors call patients' 'dumb ' when they cannot give a description of symptoms using the 'right' medical words. Doctors assume that all patients are time-wasters, and are stupid. The arrogance of doctors is off the scale.
