this film is beautifully presented. the truth of the many years the church and other privileged groups have taken away the life force of indigenous people and Nature. Try reading The Conquest of New Spain by Bernal Diaz the last surviving conquistador written in about 1565. You will learn how the indigenous Aztecs practiced human sacrifice, cannibalism, slavery and other crimes against humanity and how Christianity put an end to those horrors.

The huge mistake I find here in the beginning of the video is comparing the Native American Indians and the Saracens as being equal victims. The Pope and most of Europe were frightened by the Saracens, the Saracens controlled the Mediterranean and blocked commerce to the East. That's why Columbus was trying to find new routes to India and the East. The Saracens controlled Most of Spain, Italy and most of the countries around the Middle East, they had an army to be reckon with. The Pope at that time wanted to drive the Saracens back south. When the Spanish arrived to the Americas they came for gold, land and to save the souls of the Indigenous people here. The Catholic church considered them fully humans that their souls had to be saved. Completely different attitude of that of English crown and the US government, where they simply saw the indigenous people as nonhuman savages.
