I have nothing but respect for this young lady. I'm 76 now and I am not going to die until see the rest of her career!

She is so humble and she will probably shock us in the marathon distance

What a lovely, hardworking and talented lady. When I watched Almaz Ayana destroy all in 2016 I thought I would never see a better female distance runner. Letesenbet has proven me wrong. Everything is perfect with regard to her form she is the epitome of grace in motion. Even more remarkably she has managed to keep breaking records whilst a civil war rages in the Tigray region. She hasn’t seen her family for over a year. I wish only the best for this wonderful runner

I have recently become obsessed with watching all of her races. What a beautiful athlete she is- her stride is perfection. And this video shows what a beautiful person she is. The word that comes to mind is adorable. I will root for her even over athletes from my own country. What an incredible talent and human. Go Letesenbet!

I just love watching Gidey run, she is so majestic and elegant, she has such a beautiful and economical running style, no wasted motion. What is even more astounding is that she holds the records for the 5k, the 10k and the half marathon and she is only in her early 20s.
