Very true. I belong to same dynasty my great grand fathers used to go and meet their mysore Lords and manage local affairs. But after the rogue haidrr ali betrayed royal family then my forefathers and some of royal family members were threatened or killed by haider Ali and tipu . Because of that we came and settled somewhere not in mysore. Since then we became telugu speakers. But we r happy still crores of people remembering the royal family of yaduveers😊💕💕

Actually loads of dynasties managed to stay for such periods of time or even longer periods of time. The Cholas, Pandyans and many Rajput dynasties continued for more than 1000 years. Wodeyars were not independent between 1350 to 1565 because they were part of the Vijayanagara Empire. Then they were made ceremonial secondary rulers from 1750 to 1799 during the reign of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Then from 1799 to 1947, they were part of the East India Company and British Raj.

My grand father and fore fathers worked under mysore royal dynasty. My father used to do pooja to mysore royal kings because of Raja bhaķthi till his death.
My grand mother loved life under the erstwhile Mysore Maharaja's of Mysore State. Corruption was non-existant. Life was good. Infrastructure was ahead of its time. Beautiful roads. Village roads were lined with fruit trees so people could pick fruit and eat anytime. People were happy. They had clean air, clean water, clean environment. She used to say, after Mysore Maharaja's, under Congress and India's corrupt Neta's, Karnataka has gone to dogs. Now under Government of India, Karnataka is in the Toilet.

It was probably a great period of Carnatic Music and Kannada Literature but it wasn't a golden age. Althoguh it was the best governed region of British India, the common people were very poor and the industries were minor in comparison to Europe or America. Mysore was far richer under pre British rule. During the reign of rulers like Chikkadevaraya, Tipu Sultan etc Mysore had a higher per capita income than contemporary Europe. Karnataka was far richer under the reign of the Rashtrakutas, Vijayanagaras, Adil Shahis, Chalukyas, Hoysalas and pre British Mysore. Those were the golden ages of Karnataka. I dont think the reign of Jayachamaraja should be counted as such.
I belong to old Mysore state, basically a kingdom ruled by true human beings, the rajas of Mysore were referred to as the incarnation of God by my grandfather, they enjoyed huge respect from commoner

@@krishnamurthymysore3425 do you really think life was better then than it is now? people were much poorer, infant mortality was much higher, although Jayachamaraja wodeyar introduced reforms to promote gender equality and to remove casteism, that era was a lot more prejudiced against both women and the lower castes. we have it much better now

You say that but what happens if you get a corrupt and incompetent Maharaja ? You would be stuck with him for at least 30 years. The Maharajas contributed lots to art, culture, music, literature and economic development bht dont think they were nice or benevolent people. Did you know that Chikkadevaraya Wodeyar invited 300 brahmims to the Palace and each one of them was strangled to death one at a time. 😬
