As a recovering addict, I didn’t ask for help until it became completely dysfunctional because I thought I was being ‘overdramatic’ and didn’t deserve to take time off from my job and my children. I was in denial because I didn’t feel that my feelings and my circumstance was valid, I was being the drama queen that had been a label I lived with my entire life.
