Yes. Countless NDErs (among whom I happen to be one) report that this physical universe is not the reality of existence. In studying sub atomic particles quantum physics also indicates this, as well as other dimensions. Hence, this video seems quite outdated because it stresses the importance of this single physical plane/dimension as the (only?) reality, while in reality quantum physics and the NDE phenomena demonstrate it is consciousness that creates it (as well as others).

To support this, you can look up Stuart hameroff's work. Using Occams Razor, the inexplicable affects of anesthesia on microtubules, impossible processing power of c elegans worm neurons, quantum consciousness becomes a plausible and/or leading theory.

Hold on there Mr. Bohr. You jump from the Hard Problem to QFT? The Copenhagen interpretation isn't even close to being an accepted Principal. What of Many Words interpretation? What are you referring, deeper level? Panpsychism? Bottom up or top down? Duality? Integrated information theory? Penrose / Hameroff Microtubules? I suggest you get back to some basic understanding of these postulates before you make absurd assumptions

No, just no! Quantum Theory has proven no such thing as the immateriality of consciousness. Quantum theory is in itself not proven. You have simply wrapped your belief that consciousness is an immaterial absolute reality in a word salad of pseudo-scientific nonsense. There is no air resistance in space so if you had a modest and constant acceleration it wouldn't take long to achieve that speed. Perhaps my use or understanding of Netonian physics has a hiccup when approaching such substantial speeds and einsteinien physics and relativity holds barriers I am unaware of.

They once were, perhaps not anymore, but without those intrinsic values humanity would have perished as a species long ago. Were social, we thrive when we share and take care of one another, because of our complex social groups. We evolved to this stage because of our ingenuity, compassion for one another, and exchanges between cultures, people, and places. Humanity is built on that foundation. Capitalism and placing societally invented concepts like money and profit above necessities for life is where we went wrong, frankly. We've indoctrinated a large portion of our species into thinking that ravaging the planet is normal, expected, and in our nature as "greedy, selfish humans". But humanity wasn't built on greed.

You would quite literally have none of the things you enjoy without science and those who make it their life's work. I'd say scientists are pretty fucking important.

Actually, Brett, I was being facetious and I have never tried Valium. Have you tried poetry? Music can be quite therapeutic too. Personally I love comedy as a way of rising above life's absurdities. Drama and dance, perhaps? or perhaps just sitting back under the stars on a beach somewhere and absorbing the wonder of it all. But you are right science has given us so much. Trouble is, it can readily be abused; you know, like screaming abuse at complete strangers on the internet for one thing. Call me a romantic, but most of the pleasurable experiences I enjoy in life have got almost nothing to do with science.
