Hello, Esiri! Thank you for this informative video! Just to clarify for the folks in the comment section. I think you meant that IELTS is an equivalent for a proficiency test, not for TEFL/ TESOL certificate. Because IELTS does not provide the employer with any information on your knowledge of teaching methods and techniques (TESOL/TEFL does). Also, people need to take into consideration the fact that IELTS expires in 2 years and then one needs to take it again. For proficiency test I recommend to take a 90min EFset C2 (free, online) or Cambridge CAE / CPE (offline).

Hello! I'm new on your channel and love your energy! I wonder if one needs to take the pedagogical test if they already have a TEFL certificate which technically counts as a teaching certificate. Do you know?

Yes, you need to if your BSc is not in education.

Hi Esiri! Great video. When you say a C1 or C2 proficiency test, you mean the Cambridge exam or any proficency test (like TOEFL) at a C1 level?

Please i have a TRCN certificate from Nigeria will it serve in Vietnam and must i authenticate my certificate in Nigeria before coming to Vietnam or i can do it in Vietnam

Hi Esiri, are schools in vietnam taking esl teachers all year round or only at the start of the school year? Is there also another major intake in January for the second semester?

Yea, they take teacher all year round, buy May, June and July is when there’s massive recruitments going on.

I have Higher National Diploma in Accounting.I went on to take Professional Diploma in Education and I am fully licensed with the Nigeria Teaching certificate.I have been teaching for 18 years the following subjects English Language, Mathematics Additional Mathematics and sciences.I have the TELF certificate also.Do I stand a chance?
