Without a doubt about the best dodge and burn tutorial I have come across. The verbalization of the process is what makes it so very understandable as to the whys of the entire process. BRILLIANT
,,,just discovered your channel. Your methods are not generally what we see from other retouchers. Your full length tutorials are very instructive and for us have revealed a depth to PS we never knew existed! We look forward to seeing more and are now subscribers. Thank you, Eli. Canada here.
i am watching this vedeo more than 10 time so finally i got concept behind dodge and burn thankyou so much eli sir! ... Hope another action giveway soon !
Hello Sir, one of your fan from India. Today download the full video. And watched complete tutorial.... And now stated to apply on my image. Your description technic is awesome, I loved it. Yesterday I download 5/6 videos on D&B I found this is the best. but at end of the day you broke my heart 💔.... For the atn. Anyway love you Sir.
Hey Eli, Greetings from Germany! Very impressive your tutorial. I am very excited to use the new experiences from your video. Since I only discovered your video now, I'm probably no longer one of the first 5 users to receive your action "free of charge"... ;-) Many greetings Alan
Best video to learn d&b ... no need to apologize that the video is too long ... the longer the better ... thanks so much teaching us .... we realy appreciate !!!! 5/5 stars !!!
Eli - what a lovely tutorial. I am wondering what is local dodge and global dodge and by the time the tutorial got over it is very clear. It is such a detailed explanation which one never forgets. The manipulation of helper layer to identify the areas to dodge/burn is a great idea. Many thanks for posting such videos. I am restless and I want to practice right away. Good job Bro.
Hi Eli, been following you in insta for a while, just want to say your images and colors are inspiring - these tutorials are incredible, love the presentation style too - keep them coming and thanks !
Your color grading and re touching abilities are amazing and but personally I feel like this video was a bit dragged out. Understanding that dodging and burning be it two simple tools, is something you’re able to go pretty in depth as to where to look for it and what tools help you look for it, but I guess everyone learns different. Personally I retain tutorials at a really fast rate so I get turned off at dragged out explanations but like I said everyone is different. Fantastic editing!
I've always been scared of D&B, seeing the time used to edit it and all and I always felt that I wouldn't have such time also I didn't see how just adjusting light and dark areas could retouch d skin, but I was referred to the video by Faydee and watching this video made it seem so easy like so much easy I can't wait to start working... This has been really helpful man and I really thank you for taking out time to give us this amazing piece... I do appreciate
I bought your photoshop pack. Trying to learn it by watching your videos. I guess my question is does this work for say fixing sunburn spots? On an arm or leg as well? I was using a paintbrush, eye dropped a color tone that was more appealing and painting over it.
Thank you sir 🙏💕, You have solved this doubt for a long time, but I one doubt you have three colors in your brush tool (white, blue, yellow), you don't understand when you click.
Maybe I'm confused... what is the difference between this method and your frequency separation method using the mixer brush? Don't those methods really achieve the same results? What determines which method you'd use and why?
Thanks for the tutorial, really helpful and fun. Few days ago I was trying to do this myself after you mentioned on a recent video, but I was missing the global DB adjustments that evens all out. This video filled a lot of the gaps on skin and lighting knowledge I was missing. I'm right now slowly transitioning from LR to PS and those actions you have mentioned on this and previous videos would be really helpful, it would be awesome if you select me to have one of those. Thanks again!
I spend like 2 days per image. because if i dodge whole areas instead of pixel by pixel i very often end up making already bright white lines and spots even more bright while i am trying to darken a area. People just seem to have this tiny bright skin uneven spots
