Dodge Challenger GT Review! | Is It A Proper Muscle Car? 

At least its not front wheel drive lol

People seem to forget even back in the day these and other muscle cars came with straight or slant 6 options. Let's not forget the camaro and mustang even came with a 4 cylinder.

Their not bashing it because its a V6 their critical of the cars performance because the challenger is an already large car, that now has had a lot of unsprung weight added to it for the AWD system which makes every 1lb of extra weight make the car feel like its carrying 5lb of extra of regular sprung weight(again for every pound of 1lb unsprung weight=5lb of sprung) and a V6 that does put out decent power, but just can't overcome all the performance limitations its face in this particular application. Like the guy said almost 40k dollars for 7sec 0-60 is kind of rough in a muscle car nowadays. These same critics have praised V6 cars before, the 6th gen V6 Camaro, G37's, IS350/GS350, Audi S4, Jaguar XE-S, Kia Stinger, and many of the V6 Cadillac's, Genesis's and GT-R. The difference is those cars performed much better because they make more. Also this model Challenger is basically an IQ test for Dodge, people go out and spends 1000's and 1000's of dollars on getting a freaking Challenger with a modified AWD drive train for winter driving, when the standard car with proper winter tires would far out preform this AWD model with all-seasons. I've driven RWD cars in snow for years and years, just get winter tires I've driven AWD with all-seasons in snow, and RWD with winter tires in snow, the RWD with the proper tire feels a lot more secure, your not sliding around as much when your breaking because your car doesn't skid because the car can actually grip on the ice/snow, you have more control turning with the proper tire set up its not even close just get winter tires, for anyone out there stop spending money on drive train options you don't need, get a proper tire set up that's actually safer and properly grips your car in winter weather. Plus the material winter tires are made with are more appropriate and grip better in cold weather, stop being lazy AWD won't do s*** when you hit your brakes in snow/ice and the shitty all-season can't grip the ground and your car is sliding right into the car or pole or whatever is in front of you.

@@scarboroughlifestyleGaming416 I don't think front wheel drive deserves the hate either. If you don't live in an area with snow, they're pretty good and economical. Plus, as Honda and Volkswagen have shown us repeatedly, you can make a great performance car with front wheel drive.

Shit I’m old school 305 horsepower was v8 numbers just 11 years ago, the 2005-2009 mustang gt barely had 300 horsepower and a lot of muscle cars from the 80s-early 2000s didn’t even have 300 horsepower, a lot were pumping out between 225-280 horsepower. We have gotten spoiled over the years because we have v8s that are pumping out over 400 horsepower easily. I say the challenger awd is great for those who want a muscle car but also need awd because of snow and whatnot, but at the same time they don’t want to buy a soccer mom suv, or pickup truck rather full size or mid size to get awd. I already know that 305 horsepower I can get into trouble I have a led foot and my current car which is an equinox is only putting out 170 horsepower and I still fly in that.

Chrysler's 3.6L V6 is honestly one of the best V6s in the industry in terms of reliability, power, and efficiency. I do agree that it's underwhelming for a vehicle this heavy - maybe they should offer a turbocharged or supercharged version? That would make it awesome imo.

Winter tires do exist you know. Plus, everybody used to drive RWD in winter cause that’s all there was. A lot of y’all are making that sound like it’s an impossible task, when it isn’t at all. There isn’t anything super wrong with the GT. It is (I’d say pretty objectively) far too heavy for that engine to handle properly, but other than that, yeah - it’s a cool car. Cheaper than the V8s, quick enough for daily use, better MPGs, and a bit more capable in snow ALL ELSE BEING EQUAL. An “idiot” that thinks he’s invincible in the snow cause he’s got AWD is far more dangerous than a driver with winter tires and a good head on his shoulders in any type of vehicle.

you can easily get a tuner and switch to RWD mode when needed. They have made Charger HEMI V8's with AWD a few years that sold pretty well.

05 STi I completely agree with you man, it's not a bad idea either especially for people who have to use the car all year around so they better upgrade this car to a v8 if they really want to satisfy us "snow climate" folks

Which you can't drive in the snow, which is one of the main selling points of this car. I see guys all the time in Michigan during the winter try and drive their Rt's and it makes me laugh.
