Most Americans don't care where their cars are made, as long as they're cheap and reliable. And American leadership and quality, along with the UAW, is what got us into this mess in the first place. American car companies foisted overpriced garbage on us for decades. The Japanese brands just about put them out of business and if it wasn't for government intervention and global investors most of the American brands would dead and gone.

Chrysler brand isn't worth squat, it's on life support and I doubt it will survive the current slump. If I was Tavares I'd sell it to the highest bidder and never look back. Dodge isn't much better off, the electric models are stupidly overpriced and can't compete with a Tesla that's $20k less and if that's all they've got Tavares should sell it with Chrysler. Ram is in better shape with the new Hurricane in the 1500, but it's over priced by $10k and I doubt Ram will be sold with Chrysler/Dodge. And no way Tavares sells Jeep.

To say this, on the other hand Ram might end up release those smaller trucks similar like the ones from Japan; anyway it has already been tried being German owned it is already been tried being Italian owned and now I would love to see Japanese ownership for example Toyota. I hate to break the bubble, but Frank B. Rose needs to look an example to make sedans, to compete with the likes of not just Mercedes and BMW, but with the likes of Toyota, Honda, and probably Nissan. That goal to focus on reliability could just have Chrysler shine from the rest or to say Chrysler to be like the American Toyota, to be better like to use to be. Being quality focus and Kaizen it is what will Chrysler should do and yet Frank B. Rhodes needs to take a long ass trip to Germany and Japan and look what they do. That is called progress and standing out from the crowd.

Stellantis bought a dumpster fire when they merged with FCA. Dodge was busy running off customers for everything but overpriced muscle cars, Chrysler was just rotting away. Now that everyone who wanted a Challenger and a bad loan has one, Dodge has nothing left to sell. All the potential customers for the Hornet were told to kick rocks years ago. Stellantis looks like they're trying to use CDJR to become the LVMH of the auto industry with lineups that start at $60K. I don't know how many people Carlos is going to be able to trick into thinking Dodge and Jeep are Mercedes. CDJR is cancer and finding a sucker to take if off their hands is probably the best move Stellantis could make.

Guys. I am in Europe and have never owned a US car. However. Stellantis's direction is a road to hell for your market. French guys want to show Americans what they should drive. And crazy margins. "Funny". I wish I had a big US car but it is nonsense here in Europe unless you're keen on a muscle car. Fuel is way too expensive, and we have smaller roads, smaller parking spots and EU regulations. I do understand what US people want but Stellantis is going against you.

They car builders have it 180 backwards. They can build and push electrics all day long but Americans will never buy them in any numbers unless it is at gun point. That will not work either. Build something that is affordable and dependable on day in, day out for hundreds of miles of heavy use and people will buy.

These manufacturers don't get it.. trickle down economics gas prices are high with the rent on putting a roof over ur head.
