Dodge D150 / Mopar Wiper Linkage Bushing Installation and Repair - Fix Broken Wipers

the right way is to: remove both stalks with the arms. next remove the 3/8 nut from the motor stalk, remove the off set arm. remove all loose items from the cavity. lay out all componets on a work bench. clean all small ball ends that fit into the plastic inserts (4) each. clean all removed items. insure the push arms are facing the correct direction (up or down. install all 4 plastic inserts into the arms. add small amount of white lub (do not fill completely) or very hard to assemble. its easier to us a vice to press together (helps to evenly press flat and square. Next ign turn power on. with pwr on turn on wipers and cycle 2 or 3 times. turn off wipers (this positions the wiper motor at the correct stop position). Insert the complete assy into to the first lighting hole just in front of the driver. install both stalks into the holes that you removed them from install 3 screws to each .(snug not tight). install the offf set arm, match up the square holes and and install the 3/8 nut and tighten. last tighten down the 3 screws on each stalk. before installing the panel lightly install the wiper arms. Turn PWR ign on turn on the wipers to see all is in the proper position. should a 30 min job. i have installed maybe 5 or 6 thousand. if all is correct remove temp installed wiper arms and install panel.. good luck

A week ago I did it on my Plymouth Valiant under the dash and above the instrument panel.... It was a pain in the....

I was a Dodge parts guy from 81-85. Those grommets came from Chrysler with a dab of grease in them.. just a lil tidbit for ya... sold TONS of them..

These are a pain! Still figuring it out on my 1972 plymouth satelitte. The oem part is discontinued and the replacement ones do not last.

Make sure the studs dont have any rust or pits on them ..if they do you will be doing this job again soon..it will eat the nylon in a heartbeat.

Working on my truck now and have run into an issue. Most of the parts of mine were loose in the cowl area so I pulled them all out to a work bench. Putting it back together, I discover that the 2 pieces the wipers are attached to are different sizes and I am not sure which is left and which is right. There is about 1/4" difference in length, does it matter which goes where?
