Problems I deal with when they so called align the vehicle, they forget how to tighten everything up. I can align my vehicles with a tape line and plumb bob
There is no way you drove that away from the dealership. I’ll say there’s a misunderstanding here. You didn’t deliberately anger that dealership did you ???
You're a wizard! Our whole town is down from Helene. I have to use the gas from my car for my generator. *yes it's a classic car, so I can get in the tank. But I'm an over 50 woman, and really didn't want to drink up the gas. * so thankful!!!
True. This method will work on almost anything. The fuel tank was just sitting there, which is why I used it. I've drained hydraulic fluid out of a tractor case this way too 👍🏼
My brother in Christ. Where tf are your gloves? You know why people don't use muriatic acid often? It'll eat the rust, that's for sure. It'll also dissolve the metal underneath it too and that shit will eat your skin even faster. Don't put up a disclaimer to "take safety precautions" and then do nothing yourself. Strong acids will dissolve the oxide layer (rust), but if you do nothing to protect that fresh metal, it'll immediately start rusting again. This is why the parts you splashed with acid (and then later handled with your bare hands like a hack-job) got bright orange rust the next day. It's good to experiment and learn what works and how to do it right, but this is a level of "don't do this alone if you don't know what you're doing". And then you decided to put it on the internet, show people the wrong way to use it, then tell them not to do it indoors. Christ.
It was an experiment on junkyard headers. "High Temp" header paint lasts about 45 seconds before it's gone, then it's just rusted steel again. My fingerprints won't matter, doesn't matter and didn't matter. My goal was to see how well it would work, and it worked great. As for my lack of PPE... that dilute acid isn't strong enough to do much of anything. I guess OSHA would have a problem with it on a job site, but for the limited time I was exposed, it's not a big deal.
I think I used the VHT high temp header paint. It lasted about 45 seconds and was just a cloud of noxious smoke. They're rusty now, but it's more like a weird layer. It doesn't get worse, just stays the same.
It looks to be algea or some other biological build up could be temperature along with a little bit of moisture or water in the carb along with cheap metal that facilitates the growth
@@HFG yessa. His front bumper on his service truck says the same thing also. It’s a custom metal bumper with the name cut in it like metal art. Half fast. We call him Half Ass Less. But he’s about 4-5 hundred pound man also. That’s a big ass for sure. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sometimes people just don’t know what they are talking about sometimes lol i bet they fouled out the spark plug with gas it happens and it looses spark cuz it gets wet and now it’s dry and it will run it’s funny how people throw away perfectly good stuff loo
@@paultompkins6243 that's for sure. Another neighbor threw away a perfectly working Marantz 2275 receiver with the optional wood shell. Those sell for well over $1000
I was thinking welding a steel frame for making my own then i saw your video, i love how simply, fast and effective you did it, just a piece of plywood and 8 holes ! thanks, i'll go this way too.
Corroseal is the shit.... minimal prep needed...I've found it neutralizes rust completely if you wash surface with water and get both sides applied...Wrench on 🛠️
Good work! When you look at the big picture, I see that amount of wear on jeeps with a couple hundred thousand miles on them. That's alot of miles. You just fixed it with a little time and very little money. I would say that's a great design. Thanks for the video!
I know this is not the most recent video, but, my xj is doing the same thing, and I also don’t have the running lights in the rear, did you happen to notice that on yours as well?
Mine did have some running lights out but the bulbs were bad. I don't know if there was any connection between the two or what. Once I changed the switch, then the bulbs everything worked fine.
Do I need to do something so when I crank it , it doesn’t accidentally start it? I have two people so I can do it from within the car. I’m doing injectors and tune in a couple weeks
Unless there's a specific reason you don't want it to start, you can bleed the injector lines while it's running. I don't think it has a clear flood mode, but I could be wrong.
Very nice! I have a 95, 4 door, country edition that has that same console. Can you post the link to buy those capacitors? And, can give us an idea where we can buy those little switches?
@@HFG ohh this is so cool! Ive done some fine soldering on iPhone’s. So im pretty sure I’ll be able to handle the soldering. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I have never been an electrician, and out of fear of the certainty that I would electrocute myself, I never will. But I am glad that I am now able to put this in the giant useless junk drawer of my mind.
It's not so scary when you understand it a little more, so... Explore and have fun! Keep in mind that voltage isn't as bad as high amperage. High amperage will kill you, but not in the capacity that we're working with here.
Hi. Im from Sweden, i have an 1988 dodge truck and i have the exact same problem with mine and my first thought was to replace the hole roof with a better one but your sollution is mutch cheeper, and faster. Wonderful. I Will do it like this to. Thanks for an wonderful video. Good job 😎👍
Wow! Sweden! That's so cool. Welcome, and I hope you have good luck with your repair. On a side note, be sure to seal the drip rain with epoxy primer before laying down the JB. 👍🏼
Neat idea, or you could use the correct lug or ferrule for the job. They make ones for the 19 strand THHN, then there's ones for the MTW, then there's ones for welding cable or DLO cable. It makes a difference.
@@HFG They likely provided the cheapest 'solution' possible, but, that being said, being that they're probably Chinesium, there are other options. As long as the OD is the same, the ID of the ferrule can be different, and that's what Burndy, or Thomas & Betts make for wire terminations. We use that stuff for medium voltage motor control centers as an OEM, with high flexibility 7500V unshielded wire.
@@kleetus92 I'm sure they did. The whole connector was about $12. I've run into this before with cheap stuff but it's usually not a super critical point or I'd have bought something better. This was for a winch connector on a Jeep.
