One man, one truck. Start to finish installation of the Performance Accessories 3 inch body lift for our 2001 Dakota. I go over everything we do and give you some short cuts to make this daunting task a little bit easier. Tricks and tips for making this easy peasy. This kit is applicable to 2wd 4wd 4x2 4x4 models 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 and 2004. we have an automatic transmission 4.7 v8 but the 3.9 v6 will be the same. Single cab, extended cab, and quad / crew cab models. We also have a 2" suspension lift, with the end of the road goal being to fit 35s for tires. I've done it before and we'll do it again. I'm Thinking of doing this body lift. I have a manual shifter on the floor, to engage 4 wheel drive. Can you let me know what steps I should do for that please?

There is an extension for the shift lever that will come in your kit. I believe you will have to cut the lever and weld that piece in

Great bro my dodge Dakota is shitty 97 first year of 2nd gen only v6 ext cab but im sure a small body lift N 30s will make it look better

How did u shave down steering shaft extender for the main 13mm bolt to fit correctly? Only issue i have right now

Just a drill bit in a drill, running it along the inside edges of that extension

so i have an issue with passanger front cab mount it just spins any idea to get it out? also the driver front no bolts will stay in any ideas how to fix those issues?

Sounds like you got a rust bucket on ur hands. I'd have to see it to know how bad it is or what the proper solution is. Best of luck good sir

Its actuallu not that bad the locker nut spins on the passanger front why it wont come out and driver side i was trying to use original bolts. Havent got my lift kit yet

Yeah I would have two, but they can be a cheap $29 scissor jack from Walmart, works just fine

can you jack up the cab in the middle if all you have is a 3 ton floor jack?

I'd probably get another jack if I were you. Even a $20 bottle jack would work

I'm sure it is. Probably just the 2006 Dodge Dakota body lift kit would work. You'll have to do a little research and confirm

i am now wanting to do this to my ext cab 01 dakota. how long did it take you start to finish and seems pretty easy should be able to do all this with basic tools? new to all this.

Yeah basic tools will do it all. The body lift ur first time will take 6-8 hours probably. Very straight forward, nothing too crazy. You have good written directions too. I'm an idiot and I have done this several times, so you can definitely do this

@user-di2ss6qo6o suspension lift should take 2 hours max, if you just do 2 inch blocks in the rear and crank your factory torsion keys all the way for 2+ inches in the front

You can body lift your truck. The kit is a little bit different than ours, and it's more expensive. Hmmm says the link isn’t working. I was thinking of doing something similar to what you did. Which I’ve seen not many options to do a lift. I do like the front to be higher and the back to be lower. Any suggestions

@marcelle2309 hey I guess I sold all the body lifts off eBay and Amazon, there are none now. So you will have to order from a manufacturer website, here's a link www.daystarsuspensionparts.com/pa60153 You can crank you torsion keys in the front if you have a 4x4 and get up to 2 inches of lift. Or if you have a 2wd you could do a 1 or 2 inch coil spacer to lift and level that front 👍

⁠@@joshblankinship6761 I’m have the exact same problem I have an 05 Dakota quad cab Laramie 4.7 I managed to find a two inch front leveling spacer on Facebook marketplace then found a 2 inch “add a leaf” on 4wheel parts website I haven’t seen too much for body lifts but your best bet is probably second hand websites it’s a weird year I’ve kinda learned everything is discontinued
