Do your burnouts manually in first gear. Feather the accelerator to balance your revs. Don't let the automatic change up and bog you down. You'll be able to generate more heat. Same in the runs. Sounds like the auto is changing up too early/late. Autos always have a fraction of lag. Obviously technology has improved, but without a double clutch picking up the slack, I think I can still hear it. Practice running with the paddles and hold the gears 1/2 a second longer. Might be just me, but those change ups sound like they're bogging for the first little bit. Great vid. ;)

Need to lower your tire pressure also..Good way to find a good starting point is to find somewhere you can go that has concrete. Take you an portable air tank a 1 or 2 gallons of water. Start around 26psi do a short burnout. Check the patch size left on the concrete. Keep doing this and dropping the psi by 2 until you get the largest rubber spot left on the concrete. That's the way I did it to find my best starting point. Of course temp and elevation would change that starting point.

I'm not too familiar with the intercooler set up on the hell cat, you might want to upgrade to a water to air set up with a ice box,or try icing the intake between runs.the car sounds amazing though,and it moved pretty good considering how much it weighs.keep up the hard work and making vids. If you want any help with the Redeye build let me know. Mine had 930+ whp and ran 9’s in the quarter. I was trapping 148 in the 1/4 and 160 in the 1/3 😎

Warming up tires helps for more grip. 😎👌 maybe oil cooler kit keeps temps down?

It did for some runs.. too much heat and I lost grip and trapped slower. Oil temp wasn't an issue. The intake and S/C temps were. Hot air in means less power.

As I'm sure you know, part of the burnout is heating the rubber of the tires, but the other is to lay rubber down on the launch track for traction. I noticed the burnout area was before the actual launch from the line. Also trying to get traction over the painted lines of the runway is not really a possibility. What rpm were you shifting at?

What set up (settings) are you using? Are you running in Track Mode (only way to use the SRT Chiller), TC ? Etc. I would definitely recommend a longer burnout as well, the M/T ET R's need a longer burnout to warm them up.

Use your paddle shifters and rev that CAT Out! Also, lower your tire pressures, cause the burnouts there are just letting you collect more debris before staging! Start out in 2nd gear and smash the throttle and hit red on that limiter! If you spin just blip the throttle and go! G/L P.S> a little nitro hit in 3rd gear will make up for your wheel spin ;)

You did awsome for the hot weather, heat affects everything even the driver whether you realize it or not but you go GIRL but put a tune it a little smaller pulley size on the supercharger or a little bigger crank pulley and you'll get there! Thanks. I felt I did. Heat was an issue, but no real way around it for now. I plan to get a lot of things installed soon and will blow past the 160 mark ;). So I have the time to get it all done and installed lol. Thanks for watching!

You should also check tire pressures, drag radials are good but with doing your burnouts and running it back to back can raise the pressure a good amount. Also maybe start with a lower pressure to get more grip on your launches. Take care and good luck

I can't start with too low of a tire pressure.. since this is a half mile, the distance is a lot further. Starting with a low pressure and then hoping I got enough heat in them before the run could be ugly. Also, no one there is getting any grip.. the surface is full of little rocks at the start. I'd have the grip at a 1/4. Thanks for watching.

In my Srt8 I hit 137mph. I saw when you hit that 155mph. That was really cool! My challenger will have some mods next time the event comes around so I will hopefully hit 140's. I hope you hit that 160mph next time.

Definitely longer burnouts. The longer the better. You want your tires nice and hot so they stick to the road and don't hesitate off the line. Oh and another thing, try leaving the line with your car at 1500-2000 rpms. You will take off a lot faster.

nice run and good time for a stock car, pulley and tune it, that should put you mid 160's. Also lack of a good launch is robbing you of 3-4 mph, not your fault, its not the ideal surface for the amount of torque your leaving the line with.

Thanks! 160 should be a stock car as I was running 157.8 back in December with stock tires and much cooler weather. I was spinning more back then. You're right though.. torque and the surface is no where close to ideal to begin with. Thanks for watching!

I believe your traction problem were caused by the rocks on the tires. You can hear them coming off when you launched the car bummer, but still cool!👍🏁

Bingo.. that is correct. A lot of comments are geared towards 1/4 prep and expected grip.. not knowing that this airstrip is not prepped at all. A lot of sand and pebbles at the start. Thanks for watching!

Try to line up at start without being on white painted stripes.. It is more slick than the bare pavement and you should hook up better..also if allowed try to power brake at start so your off the idle rpm when you launch.

Doris, you should learn the power curve of your car and utilize your paddle shift-ers. You would have more control over your power. I constantly beat guys in races that have faster more powerful vehicles because they do not know how to efficiently use the power curve of their vehicles. You are still doing great!!!! Just dropping a pointer. Also make sure you are not hitting a speed limiter. Take your car to a Dyno tune place and verify that. Often, in stock cars, manufactures will program a speed limiter based the rating of the stock tires. For example, if your car came with W (168mph) rated tires, your speed limiter may kick in at 155 to 160.
