Setting up our 98 corrolla hornet car for the upcoming season this week! Paved 1/3 mile oval track… gonna try some toe adjustments and new springs to see if we can get it to turn a little better and maybe not go through so many tires this year!
Ya we figured out last year getting on the gas too soon out of turn 4 was just causing wheel spin and tearing up our right front. Hoping to add some camber and a little bit of rear toe to try to get the car turning earlier without being loose.
Hello Kevin, Are the struts factory stock? Are all four tires the same on all four corner? I'm planning on build a dirt neon like yours. Just trying to see how you adjust the suspension. Where did the front and rear brake rotors and calipers come from? Are the toe adjusters on the back factory neon or off another car? Do you race asphalt or dirt?
Its a pavement car, the adjustable toe links are for a 1st gen neon I got them at Rockauto. Brakes are all stock 1st gen neon. everything from Rock. Struts are stock replacement KYB Excel G from Rock. We use Falken Azenis RT 615 or 660 205-50-15 all around. I know zero about dirt. Join mopar mini stocks on FB. Lots of smart dirt guys there.
Here's something I've done on my Merc. Sable Enduro car. Mine is a dirt car but what I've done is to try and take the push out of the end. here's what I've done, Take both rear wheels and turn the front of the tire out, on mine I did 1/2 inch. This makes the rear want to come out at the start of coming into the turn. This is similar to what they do on a Super late model with the rear swing axle. The car will diamond leaving the turn and lessening the push on the front. Works for me.
