I just installed this kit on my 2001 Ram 2500 Cummins. If anybody has been thinking about doing this conversion, I highly recommend doing it if you can afford it. My kit was $2,077.00 with new U joints. My trucks steering is so much better and drives far superior than the factory hubs. I've had them installed now for a week, and im highly impressed. Great upgrade 👌!
This kit is well worth it. Not only save 1-2 MPG. Save wear and tear on front axle shaft u-joints, transfer case driveshaft, transfer case and transmission.
Another must have is Carli ball joints.. Just installed them but the quality is so apparent.. did those, ring and pinion, axle seals and brakes W/ Detroit drilled and slotted for a bill. I ordered the kit but am moving and wont have my box or Air till I find a new shop/ house Barna minium. Looks like Ill be doing it on the road.. Synergy Steering Kydd as well and track bar from Carly or synergy one of the other but man or they’re huge difference I can’t wait to drive this thing should have a button up by tomorrow . So if you would have a suggestion on tool list man I’d appreciate it or just put them in the right direction because when I googled it your video came up which I’m happy for we appreciate it have a good day
I’m thinking about switching to locking hubs because they are made in America. But they are 8 times more expensive than the normal hub and bearing assembly. $1600 vs 200
maybe expensive,,but the day that front axle u-joint starts making noise while on a trip,you HAVE to stop and call a tow truck,or else that ujoint will self destruct real fast,and then you'll really see what expensive is,hopefully not 800 miles from home and at 3 in the morning,and with Billy Bob's repair you're only option,with manual hubs you dont have that problem,so in the end,,you could be saving yourself some money and hassles,
Sux they are on back order. 3 to 4 weeks. Just got done doing a ring and pinion for the first time. So I was going to do the conversion at the same time.. Oh well Another month...
