For $1500 its going to take a long time to recoup the investment on maybe a 1mpg fuel saving. Seems like a nice kit however. I think if you keep up with good bearing maintenance you could prob save a few hub replacements over the years as well

I did not look at this kit cost. That being said all these Guys that have to put 3 to $5,000 in tires and wheels on their pickups to look Cool and then maybe they're Heads need to be deflated that's a pretty price to pay to look cool!! And not have a lockouts on their truck lots wear and tear on their front end. And what I'm saying is they can put this money towards the lockout hub kit instead of pissing it away on tires and wheels!! Dodge could make an option to come from the Factory with Lockouts!!!
@christopherress6635
@christopherress6635 3 года назад
The real advantage is the bearing layout is inherently stronger than factory design. Very easy to wear out wheel bearings if you push these trucks off-road.

Does anyone know the difference between for 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 free spin kit DRW vs SRW kit?
@guspyeatt6803
@guspyeatt6803 2 года назад
in stock form Dodge uses a spacer / adapter to widen the track width to accommodate the DRW wheels. Yukon does away with that and builds the offset in directly to the wheel hubs. this creates a stronger wheel hub assembly , and eliminates the potential for the spacer to work loose.

¿Does Yukon make an entire free-spin front axle assembly that I can just bolt on? I ask this because I want to keep my stock front axle all Mopar and just put it aside. The other reason I ask this is because I'm thinking if Yukon does, then it would be a solid axle shaft from on the right side; the center axle disconnect is not necessary if it has outboard locking hubs. It would also be easier to bolt on the entire assembly, AND, everything is brand new & there's no mixing and matching if I were to just modify the stock front axle. I have a 2018 Ram 3500 Single-Rear-Wheel (SRW) with the 6.4 Hemi & the 4.10 gears.
@zeusmia3554
@zeusmia3554 2 года назад
Only one that makes what your talking about is the Ram Man in Texas, I put a set on my 18 4500 since nobody else makes any kind of lockout for the 4500/5500 trucks, my whole axle spun all the time as they didn’t start the axle disconnect till 2019 on the 4500/5500 trucks, Ram Man uses a unit bearing same as factory and uses the existing axle shaft, basically just bolt it on, been running it for over 100,000 miles so far and no problems
@suburbanator91
@suburbanator91 2 года назад
@@zeusmia3554 I know of him. What's good about Ram Man is that if the dealer ever has to do anything on the inside, they don't have to take apart the locking hubs; that can just unbolt the hub bearing like the stock Mopar unit. Only they won't have a nut in the middle.

@@zeusmia3554 That's no small thing, because I bought the Mopar Max-care which added almost $4K to my truck's final out the door cost. So, I only want to mess with what I have to and nothing else. I have nothing against this Yukon kit as it has its own amazing advantages as well.

$1500 mod that will not come close to saving money on wear and tear in the differential. that price assumes you install yourself.
@pitt42075
@pitt42075 3 года назад
The cost is why most people never do this mod. For $1500 I could get a pull out engine or be 2/3 on my way to having at Atlas. The component cost compared to what is being charged in the kit is, in my opinion, not reasonable.
