@@alexthegod2 how much do you think ? a 40 HR 100 RBI Gold Glove Center fielder in his prime would get a year if he was a free agent ? that's $30 Million per year easily.... he's owed 4 million for the remainder of the season that would allow them to afford another player in the deadline without going over tax, next season he's gonna get paid $8 million so the Dodgers would have a $30 million dollar player for $8 million so they wouldn't have to spend over $20 million in the off-season and that's when they would save money, then the last 2 seasons of his contract he will be paid $20 million and that would still be cheaper than what he would suppose to be paid and that would save them money, so when you pay cheaper for one player than what he's worth then you can afford to spend the savings on another player...

@@Tony-l2e Robert is not a 40/100 guy. He had one season at 38/80 and had a walk/k rate of 30/172. that means this guy swings and misses a lot and will struggle to have a decent average and be consistent. He hasn't topped 13/56 in any other season. It could be that he's already peaked and he wont ever get close to 38/80 again. I think his ceiling is Teoscar Hernandez type and its tough to have two of those guys in the lineup at the same time. We'll see how it shakes out.

The only problem is that he is the best outfielder on the list, and we desperately need an outfielder. He hits with good defense. The negatives are the Ks and the injury history. If the LADs can get him for Vargas (or Outman), Hurt (or Knack instead of Hurt) and Cartaya (or Thayron Lirzano) + a 4th lower prospect, they should jump.

@WavesBland26 agree, if they would be good teams wouldn’t want to part ways and we shouldn’t be interested. I believe we have enough outfielders in; Hernandez, Heyward, Pages, Kike and Taylor both can play there too.. Vargas definitly can not. Now pitching help that’s something else, especially a trust worthy reliever we should be in for business.
