6 for 16 in his last seven games. In a couple of those games he didn't have any at bats. Regardless we knew about his defense and he's getting some important hits too.
If we really look into the stats, Ohtani increases his swim lengths for about 0.2ft, which means the velocity of bat increases. In simple words, Ohtani is trying to increase the number of sluggers and homeruns. At the second half of the season we can say that Ohtani is preparing for the playoffs, cuz in playoffs dodgers do not need him for just singles but homers. So if Ohtani is navigating for more homers, the batting average will decline since these two things will not possibly coexist.
As an Angels fans I watch the Dodgers because of Ohtani, as great as he is in the first half of the season he's been really dissapointing in the second half. He's now 4 for 45 in his last 10 games, that's unexceptable. Three years he had 30 home runs at the All Star break and none of those years he hit 50, hit only 13 HRs in 2021 & 12 HRs 2023 in the 2nd half, this year he has only 7 so far. He does great in the 1st half but does very little in the 2nd half, especially in August and September, this is the forth straight year this happened, what makes anyone think he will do anything in October? Just very dissapointed in him.

I can't wait for Shohei to start pitching again. The sooner he does, the sooner his elbow pops again. Tommy John 2 will be coming in 2025 or 2026. His arm is burnt and injury will end his career long before his Dodgers contract expires.
I think roberts should have mookie leading off then Freeman since hes been hitting good and have ohtani batting 3rd in the lineup would probably help with runs if he bombs one

The talent has been greatly exaggerated. Goldy and Arenado are washed up. I agree that Oli is not a good manager. He calls up Jordan Walker to platoon against lefties when he hits righties better average and power. He is ruining him trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Every starting pitcher we go after is over 30, and they are still talking about extending Goldschmidt. The Cardinals have more problems than just bad management, bad ownership too.

I don't like Marmol as a manager, but unless the players just recently changed their minds, they have been defending Marmol this whole time.
I personally think it’s because he’s batting lead off. It’s just like the difference between a closer and a reliever. His skill set would be so much better as a 2 or 3 bat. I understand he can get more home runs or steals if he’s getting more ABS, but he’s just not the same. If Roberts keeps him on lead off I guarantee you he will not win MVP this year.

How to adjust at the right time to new types of pitchers and pitchers with different speeds is a challenge for all players. Now, I would like to ask you a question. Will everything be good if the gap in the body disappears? Also, how does Shohei Ohtani use his brain awareness to create that position, and how much force does he need to start with in order to make a well-balanced swing and achieve great results?
U gotta remember Ohtani is a pitcher he's just a DH for the time until his arm is good remember he had Tommy John surgery it takes a while to be back to form

DeWitt obviously doesn't want to get to the postseason. Marmol has made numerous bad decisions the past two weeks and the Cards are pretty much well out of it. The Marmol/Mozeliak Comedy Team won't get them there. What a waste.
Ohtani has been in a brutal slump since the All Star game pretty much. He has gone from a batting average of around 320 to finishing today's game at 292. They have to do something. Sit him out a few games. Send him to get a two day Thai massage or something. Jeeeez.

I think its honestly time for the cards to just admit the team they have is not a good team. Not just from this game but the inconsistency over the last FEW years is very apparent. The inconsistency with pitching eoth no depth. The bats being WAAAAAY to hot or cold. Ots just been frustrating to watch. If someones injured. Usually its mediocrity to follow their stead. Ohtani is so used to being out of the playoff picture that his body has acclimated to shutting down in August but I still believe he'll be the difference maker in a few months.

Very questionable. it seems some pitchers slow down winding/pitching every-time ohtani runs so catcher can not catch up. Also, strange part is any announcers/commentators promote ohtani exaggeratingly too much and even deciding him to be NL MVP this year when his plays have no bearings on victory for dodgers. Ohtani numbers are not top rated nor clutch, no meanings to Dodgers. so, why ohtani is NL MVP this year. if he gets it, i will be shocked.
Every body on the Dodgers seems to be hitting except the billionaire who diverted some of his money so the Dodgers could sign his home boy who isn't pitching. Maybe they should let ohtani pitch and Yamamoto hit. For all the money the Dodgers paid for ohtani it would be too embarrassing to bench him.

Mozeliak brought in Pham, Mozeliak brought in a trade-deadline relief pitcher who can't get people out, Mozeliak brought in Scott, Moziliak brought in Walker. The team now has too many outfielders, and still not enough pitching. (Lance Lynn has knee inflamation, and has missed a start or two. The Cardinal's potential Gold Glove centerfielder Michael Siani might miss a month of the season with an oblique strain that happened a couple of weeks ago.) NONE OF THAT IS MARMOL. The "good streak" had a lot to do with the end of July trade deadline, and guys focused on staying in St Louis, rather than being traded and uproot their families. But make no mistake, this losing is Mozeliak's failure, not Marmol.
@@rayrussell6258 You make a good point in that it’s Mozeliaks fault (it is most of the time cause he’s a bad GM). But he’s not in the dugout. Marmol controls the lineup card and the bullpen. Hopefully after losing 5 straight and the 3rd WC spot we had he makes some moves. Coming down to the wire with 40 games left. Plenty of time, but we can’t afford losing streaks

Mozeliak and his analytics database does, and if Marmol goes against the data, even after the starting lineup is announced, he could get fired by Mozeliak just like Mike Shildt did after leading a record winning streak (and going against Mo's data in the process) that won a Division championship 3 years ago. Mo fired him for winning. That's the reality in St Louis. Mozeliak controls everything, even decisions during the games. Marmol is getting scapegoated for Mozeliak failures.
@@rayrussell6258 Hard to argue with that, especially since Mozeliak pays Oli, I did read that Mozeliak could be out of a job if we finish below 500. I don’t want another losing season, but if it results in Mozeliak getting fired then it might be worth it.

(Bloom was fired by Boston for taking their franchise down to last place in their Division last year. And incredibly, St Louis then hires the guy this year to be Mo's assistant/replacement). I say keep Marmol, but clean out the entire St Louis front office.
