@@glucosaminecondroitan9135 Cam’ron and Mase popularized the “pause” on their podcast. Usually said after something that could be interpreted in a sexual way. Ie. “They ran the ball down their throat … pause”
I feel like what’s getting lost on the dodgers is that although they are injured it’s not like they are struggling to piece wins together, they’re blowing out teams in wins. And they have been the best team all year , it’s not that they’re getting hot at the right time they’re just hot
I honestly agree with the Jake not getting enough credit take. Idk if its just people memeing or if Dodger fans are actually, unironically whiney, but every video, not just Jake's where the Mets' or the Padres' pitching or batting shortcomings or mistakes were even brought up the comments just erupt in "You're Yankees glazer, you're discrediting the Dodgers! Wah" and the whole time I was like, I didn't even know Jake was a Yankee's fan because that's how impartial he seemed and some goofy Dodgers fans still dog on him for some reason. You're supporting the Yankees, yes, but imo whenever you discussed other teams you never felt as strongly biased toward the Yankees as the comments section make you out to be this Yankees worshipping guy or something. I hope those overbearing Dodgers or other team fans if there are other team fans like that don't dishearten you guys, y'all do a fantastic job despite all the complaints imo you're one of the best baseball discussing people out there Jake!
For a Braves fan, Bailey's monologue on the Acuña grand slam against Buehler was damn near emotional. That home run made us believe that it was only a matter of time till it was our time.
Potential bias but the best moment was the Soto Homer. Best hitter in the game absolutely owned an entire at bat in the extra innings. The whole world could tell Soto was going deep just by the look in his eyes after each foul ball
Kerry Carpenter hit a 423 ft HR off of Clase. It was the hardest hit ball of Kerry Carpenter’s three season career and the hardest hit ball allowed in Clase’s longer than 3 season career.
This is such great, real conversation. I appreciate what you guys do so much. Love when king of the foolish blesses me with ball knowledge🫠no shade Jake! You have a great knowledge as well but you’r perspective, positivity, and love for the game goes with Bailey so well!
Dodgers pen might get Brusdar Graterol and/or Alex Vesia back, which makes them even better. And it’s crazy that they did basically punt Game 2 from the start and Game 5 after a couple of innings against a Mets team that seemingly had the team of destiny (they literally were on the 2019 Nats season script) and it didn’t matter. They picked their spots and it worked exactly as planned. And potentially only one bullpen game (Game 4), Flaherty is 1 and 5, Yamamoto is 2 and 6, Buehler is 3 and 7.
The moment of the playoffs was the Soto homer. And it’s not close. That was the best AB with every single tool of elite hitting on display in one AB and ending with a winning HR that takes you to WS. That was the AB to me.
We’ve had plenty of wild card teams make runs, and underdogs meet really good teams in the World Series. We had that with the Diamondbacks and Rangers. I think this year, in general, it will be fun to have two juggernauts in the World Series. Like it or not, having two underdogs in the World Series doesn't move the needle for most fans. The Dodgers vs. Yankees will be a special matchup that could put MLB back on the map with younger viewers.
Thank you Bailey ❤️ it's been hard listening to new york media pat themselves on the back for ✨saving baseball✨ just cause they get to be happy their team made it this time lol dodgers vs Yankees is gonna be fun. The world series is always fun
Glad Bailey brought up that the dodgers fans had to do better so the HR isn’t robbed. There being a guard and a kid and a lady hiding in here chair just made so much space for the rob.
the dodgers are coming off throwing 33 scoreless against the powerhouse padres. plus scored a record number of runs against the mets. the dodgers are coming in hot.
Bailey gives Jhonk Bonk and Mike King to a Yankee fan? That seems pretty targeted. I’m pretty happy with how that series and that trade panned out. But first stings some and losing King really sucks.
Yankees bullpen could end up being better than the Dodgers but as a Diamondback fan there’s always a part of me that will be extremely skeptical about Luke Weaver as a pitcher lol
I love Seager, Marte, Carroll, and Garcia. Fun players and definitely stars. So too is Gallen. But maybe one will be a HOFer. Yankees-Dodgers has like 8-10 HOFers between the two teams. And quite a few more that will at least make HOF ballots when all is said and done. Marketing does not make this series a bigger deal. It just is a bigger deal. Also, it is satisfying to have the two teams that actually played the best this year be in the World Series, not just two teams that got hot at the right time. Which is definitely the case for the DBacks. Rangers were a legit power all year and only faded at the end or they would’ve won the West that year. But DBacks were an okay team last year. They just got hot at the right time. They were much better this year and didn’t even make it. Still bummed that a half standing Braves team limped in over them because DBacks would’ve been way more fun this year.
My favorite aspect of the Alonso Homer is it isn't a homer at Citi Field. The Mets won that game BECAUSE they are an underdog. How entirely 2024 Mets is that fact???
i just want to know why everyone is acting like the dodgers can’t/won’t get to one of the yankees starters early and force them to go to their pen? why is it just the dodgers starters are gonna be knocked out and their bullpen gets taxed? the yankees pen started to look REAL thin in just 5 games against the guardians. just bc the yankees have one more starter doesn’t mean they’re all gonna go 7 IP. i don’t get it.
I can understand why Jake would take Dodgers over Yankees lineup. However, I expect every Yankee bat to take a step forward some. Royals and Guardians both had better overall pitching that also matched up better against Yankees than Dodgers do. More lefties and more types of pitches that Yanks struggle with. Also, go position by position. C is kind of a wash (comparable regular seasons and neither are really here in playoffs so far). At 1B, Freeman is definitely better but Rizzo is playing much better right now. At 2B, Gleyber is miles better than whoever Dodgers run out. At SS, Volpe is miles better than Rojas and honestly may be better than Edman given Yanks won’t give him that many lefties to hit. At 3B, I’d give Muncy the clear edge but Jazz could go off like he did in regular season at points. At LF, I’d give Teoascar clear edge. At CF, Judge has huge edge over whoever they play there. Soto has been as good or better than Mookie. And Stanton has been as good or better than Shohei in the postseason. And he crushes Dodgers and in that stadium while Shohei has sucked at Yankees Stadium. And Yankees have the pitching edge. I think they are the better team on paper even if not by much. Just depends on how it all plays out.
Why you not saying it Cole nd Rodon pitch there best that 2 games 1 nd 2 going to Yankees stadium nd if we go back to New York 2 -0 they not coming back to LA
This world series is revealing something that I didnt fully appreciate...Dodgers fans are really soft and whiney. Series hasnt even started yet, sheesh.
If dodgers won Judge will be written in history as villan like how Ohtani won against Trout in WBC and finally fought the final villan in WS That will be the worst scenario for me as a yankee fan
