I came out to my parents in October, and they eventually got tired of the relationship I had with my best friend on the 9th of November. They handed me the phone and told me to cease the relationship. We still talk, and I still love her to pieces, but things have changed, and I don't like that change. this was the first ever dodie song i heard. i was in my room with my best friend, we watched it through and tears streamed from my eyes, tears because of this powerful, _beautiful_ , heart-wrenching song by a voice i had never heard before. almost exactly seven months later, i found myself at a concert, hearing the same voice, but in person. and i leant on my best friend’s shoulder and watched, and tears streamed from both of our eyes, and they didn’t stop. this isn’t just music, this is one of the most beautiful songs, pieces of art, anything- in the whole world. it makes my heart ache every time i listen to it. _every single time_ . i am so glad i found this song, and i will never lose it. i will hear it again in person, next april, with my best friend. my heart can only ache with excitement.
