@@chrishey9879 You never believed in One God. You have a reading problem. Father, son, and Holy Spirit are not names. They are titles. The verse says NAME SINGULAR. That’s why every baptism in the Epistles were in the name of Jesus. And you didn’t bother listening to the video, you were busy making your unbiblical comment. I have researched 1 John 5:7 and he is right. All of the manuscripts except one from the 14th century don’t have that passage. When something is added that has a much later date of writing you don’t put it in the Bible. All of the writings of the Apostles were finished by 90AD, anything dated after that should not be accepted. 1. Is the word trinity in the Bible? No. 2. Does the Bible say that there are three persons in the Godhead? No. 3. Does the Bible speak of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost? Yes. 4. Do these titles as used in Matthew 28:19 mean that there are three separate and distinct persons in the Godhead? No, they refer to three offices, roles, or relationship to humanity. 5. Does the Bible use the word three in reference to God? Only one verse in the entire Bible does so-I John 5:7. It speaks of the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. This is speaking of testifying not the Godhead. You have Father (God) His Word (God) John 1:1 Greek translation: In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and God was the word. God’s word is not a second person. λόγος logos; from 3004; something said (including the thought); by implication, a topic (subject of discourse), also reasoning (the mental faculty) or motive. Then Holy Spirit, God is Spirit, and His Spirit is Holy. “These three are one." It doesn’t say three persons. 6. Does the Bible use the word one in reference to God? Yes, many times. For example, see Zechariah 14:9; Malachi 2:10; Matthew 23:9; Mark 12:29, 32; John 8:41; 10:30; Romans 3:30; I Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; I Timothy 2:5; James 2:19. 7. Can the mystery of the Godhead be understood? Yes. Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9; I Timothy 3:16. 8. Has the Christian only one Heavenly Father? Yes. Matthew 23:9. 9. Then why did Jesus say to Philip, "He that hath seen me hath seen the Father" (John 14:9)? Because Jesus is the express image of God's person. Hebrews 1:3. The Greek word for person in this verse literally means "substance." 10. Does the Bible say that there are two persons in the Godhead? No. 11. Does the Bible say that all the Godhead is revealed in one person? Yes, in Jesus Christ. II Corinthians 4:4; Colossians 1:19; 2:9; Hebrews 1:3. 12. Is the mystery of the Deity hidden from some people? Yes. Luke 10:21-22. 13. Who is the Father? The Father is the one God, particularly as revealed in parental relationship to humanity. Deuteronomy 32:6; Malachi 2:10. 14. Where was God the Father while Jesus was on earth? The Father was in Christ. John 14:10; II Corinthians 5:19. He was also in heaven, for God is omnipresent. 15. Did the prophet Isaiah say that Jesus would be the Father? Yes. Isaiah 9:6; 63:16. 16. When God said, "Let us make man in our image" (Genesis 1:26), was He speaking to another person in the Godhead? No. Isaiah 44:24; Malachi 2:10. 17. How many of God's qualities were in Christ? All. Colossians 2:9. 18. How may we see the God who sent Jesus into the world? By seeing Jesus. John 12:44-45; 14:9. 19. Does the Bible say that Jesus is the Almighty? Yes. Revelation 1:8 20. Whom do some designate as the first person in the trinity? God the Father. 21. Whom do some designate as the last person in the trinity? The Holy Ghost. But Jesus said that He was the first and last. Revelation 1:17-18 22. How many persons did John see sitting on the throne in heaven? One. Revelation 4:2. 23. If Jesus is the first and the last, why did God say in Isaiah 44:6 that He was the first and the last? Because Jesus is the God of the Old Testament incarnate. 24. Did Jesus tell Satan that God alone should be worshipped? Yes. Matthew 4:10 25. Does the devil believe in more than one God? No. James 2:19. 26. Does the Bible say that God, who is the Word, was made flesh? Yes John 1:1, 14. 27. For what purpose was God manifested in the flesh? To save sinners. Hebrews 2:9, 14. 28. Was Jesus God manifested in the flesh? Yes. I Timothy 3:16. 29. Could Jesus have been on earth and in heaven at the same time? Yes. John 3:13. 30. Does the Bible say that there is but one Lord? Yes. Isaiah 45:18; Ephesians 4:5. 31. Does the Bible say that Christ is the Lord? Yes. Luke 2:11. 32. Does the Bible say that the Lord is God? Yes. I kings 18:39; Zechariah 14:5; Acts 2:39; Revelation 19:1. 33. How could the church belong to Jesus (Matthew 16:18) and yet be the church of God (I Corinthians 10:32)? Because Jesus is God in the flesh. 34. Will God give His glory to another? No. Isaiah 42:8. 35. Was there a God formed before the Lord, or will there be one formed after? No. Isaiah 43:10. 36. What is one thing that God does not know? Another God. Isaiah 44:8. 37. What is one thing that God Cannot do? Lie. Titus 1:2. 38. How many Gods should we know? Only one. Hosea 13:4. 39. How many names has the Lord? One. Zechariah 14:9. 40. Is it good to think upon the name of the Lord? Yes. Malachi 3:16. 41. Does the Bible say that God alone treads upon the waves of the sea? Yes. Job 9:8 42. Why, then, was Jesus able to walk upon the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 14:25)? Because He is God the Creator. Colossians 1:16. 43. Is God the only one who can forgive sin? Yes. Isiah 43:25; Mark 2:7. 44. Why, then, could Jesus forgive sin in Mark 2:5-11? Because He is God the Savior. 45. Is Jesus the true God? Yes. I John 5:20. 46. If God and the Holy Ghost are two separate persons, which was the Father of Christ? Matthew 1:20 says that the Holy Ghost was the Father, while Romans 15:6, II Corinthians 11:31, and Ephesians 1:3 say that God was the Father. There is no contradiction when we realize that God the Father and the Holy Ghost are one and the same Spirit. Matthew 10:20; Ephesians 4:4; I Corinthians 3:16. 47. When Paul asked the Lord who He was, what was the answer? "I am Jesus." Acts 9:5. 48. When Stephen was dying, did he call God Jesus? Yes. Acts 7:59. 49. Did Thomas ever call Jesus God? Yes. John 20:28. 50. How could Jesus be the Savior, when God the Father said in Isaiah 43:11, "Beside me there is no Savior?" Because "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself." II Corinthians 5:19. 51. Does the Bible say that Jesus was God with us? Yes. Matthew 1:23. 52. Did Jesus ever say, "I and my Father are one?" Yes. John 10:30. 53. Can it be proved scripturally that Jesus and the Father are one in the same sense that husband and wife are one? No. The Godhead was never compared to the relationship of a husband and wife. Jesus identified Himself with the Father in a way that husband and wife cannot be identified with each other. John 14:9-11. 54. Does the Bible say that there is only one wise God? Yes. Jude 25. 55. Does the Bible call the Holy Ghost a second or third person in the Godhead? No. The Holy Ghost is the one Spirit of God, the one God Himself at work in our lives. John 4:24; I Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19; 12:13. 56. Can Trinitarians show that three divine persons were present when Jesus was baptized by John? Absolutely not. The one, omnipresent God used three simultaneous manifestations. Only one divine person was present--Jesus Christ the Lord. 57. Then what were the other two of whom Trinitarians speak? One was a voice from heaven; the other was the Spirit of God descending like a dove. Matthew 3:16-17. 58. What did the voice say at Jesus' baptism? "Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Mark 1:11. As the Son of God, Jesus was the one God incarnate. 59. Does the Bible say that God shed His blood and that God laid down His life for us? Yes. Acts 20:28; I John 3:16. God was able to do this because He had taken upon Himself a human body. 60. The Bible says that God is coming back with all his saints (Zechariah 14:5) and also that Jesus is coming back with all his saints (I Thessalonians 3:13). Are two coming back? No. Only one is coming back--our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Titus 2:13.

I have this rule when studying the Bible. First, I except the premise that there are no contradictions based on God being perfect and not a liar. Second, I take a page out of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes who said, once you eliminated the impossible, what ever is left, however improbable must be the truth. So basically if there appears to be a contradiction between passages of scriptures, the problem isn't with the Scripture, it's with my understanding and it must therefore change in a manner that sees those passages as equal.
@berniepenner6204

agreed: when this process is carried out faithfully the result will be that we discover the bible is not so much a book about WHAT or WHICH or THINGS, but rather a book about HOW, or the process of Salvation. In other words the bible is Dynamic and teaches much more about HOW Jesus is our mighty God.

Are we accepting or excepting premises? Because - accepting Dr Bernard here on 1 John 5:7 not being canonical then God’s word as we know it in the KJV if flawed… and cannot be considered infallible which I am fairly sure would be not the UPCI’s official position.

Bro. Bernard, As with this discussion, I have been wondering about a particular scripture; Matthew 3:17 "And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased;" This group of scriptures is something trinitarians use to try to prove their point.... There.. you got your three... the Father saying these word... the Son being baptized... and the spirit as a dove. Now not wanting to get into the weeds about how God did this all at same time or that this was done for John's sake, my problem is with versions of the bible that say "with whom". instead of "in whom" (like the KJV does). In my thinking 'in' is not the same as 'with'. Do have any thoughts you could share, or if you might have a. link that you could refer me to, that would be great. Thank you.

What can be confusing to some is that we past or current Trinitarians were taught the verses showing PERSON HOOD in the scriptures speaking about the Father & Spirit, thus trained there were 3 persons, but in reality what we were reading was the personality traits of ONE being manifested 3 different ways, then we saw that pan out when God picked up His body through Mary, the angel told Mary that "HOLY THING", Jesus called the word SEED.

That's not true. God is three persons in one. God is not manifesting in different forms like water. The three have been as such since Genesis 1:1.

With ALL DUE RESPECT for you and your views, the GODHEAD cannot and is NOT COMPOSED or COMPRISED of 3 persons, nor is it DIVIDED into thirds, such as one third of the Spirit of God is the Father, one third is the Son and one third is the Holy Ghost!!!! NO, this premise would CONTRADICT a whole host of Biblical Scriptures. John 4:24 clearly states that GOD is a Spirit, (ONE SINGULAR DIVINE DEITY) and He MANIFESTED Himself as the Son of God and Son of man in the humanity of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!! That is why the HOLY SCRIPTURES clearly state that in Him dwelleth the FULLNESS of the GODHEAD bodily. Just as the Spirit of Almighty God manifested Himself as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to the children of Israel in the Old Testament, He also MANIFESTED Himself as the express IMAGE of the Father via His incarnation of His DIVINE DEITY in the body of that baby son which the virgin Mary bore as BEGOTTEN by God's Spirit. In others words, as my initial NEW BIRTH pastor explained it excellently to me (who was raised in a trinitarian religion) the Spirit of Almighty God condescended and enrobed His DIVINE DEITY within a cloak of human flesh, sinless BLOOD, and came to Earth in the form of that man child or God man, CHRIST JESUS to SHED OUT his BLOOD so we could have that BLOOD applied to obtain REMISSION from our SINS after we REPENTED from them. As the eternal CREATOR & Spirit, He could not SHED FORTH flesh or BLOOD, but He, as ALMIGHTY GOD, SOVEREIGN SUPREME AUTHORITY, COMMANDER in CHIEF or CHIEF SHEPHERD & BISHOP & HEAD over the Church has ALL AUTHORITY and POWER, and He established under the Old Testament covenant that without the SHEDDING of BLOOD, there is no REMISSION of SINS, but the blood of the Old Testament covenant was required of them back there but was insufficient, so He had to come as the LAMB of GOD, to SHED his SINLESS, SPOTLESS BLOOD so we could have it applied to our lives by appropriating His RIGHTEOUS by FAITH via OBEDIENCE to his GOSPEL via ACTS 2:38!!!!

This was a pretty amazing find, so thank you again!! It is interesting he says the three that bear witness on earth are the water, the FLESH, and the blood though. I'll have to do some digging on that, as I haven't heard any quotations like that anywhere else. I guess it would make sense though as the blood of the "flesh" of God, as manifested in the man Christ Jesus, is applied to us through the water in baptism in His name. Thank you for your time! I honestly forgot about writing this comment, since it was so long ago. God bless!

AS we faithfully study the apparent differences in the bible and then submit our will and our mind to comparing all scriptures we will find the bible is not a book about WHAT or WHICH or THINGS, but rather a book about HOW, or the process of Salvation. In other words the bible is Dynamic and teaches much more about HOW Jesus is our mighty God.

Powerful teacher Man of God! Just in support of this teaching! Just after 1 John 5:7 after saying these 3 are 1 it says the One is The Father and he’s the only spirit testifying about the Son John calls the Father, Word and Holy Spirit the testimony God gave of his Son” which shows Father, Word and Holy Spirit is the Father testifying Father- God said directly this is my Son - Matthew-3:17 The Father testified by his Word through Scripture- John 5:39 The same Father testified of the Son by his Holy Spirit - Acts 2:22 and John 5:36 It’s not 3 persons it’s the Father testifying 3 ways of the Son coming by water and blood (Fully human) 1 John 5:6 2 Corinthians 13:1-2 shows one Paul as 3 witnesses by writing 3 letters, and the law of 2 or 3 witnesses was fulfilled by one person (Paul) God The Father also used 3 of Something to bear record 3 ways of the Son Lastly The Son said only the Father testifies of him” no other spirits” John 5:32 and John 5:37

at 10:00, this discussion of Erasmus (1516) certainly adds greater skepticism to the validity of 1 John 5:7 even being written by John during his ministry. Any post Apostolic inclusion have to met with caution. Removing all of the post apostolic phrases or passages would never harm the words of Jesus that is one thing for sure.

Bible scholar E.W. Bullinger, who was a trinitarian, wrote in his notes from the Companion Bible for 1 John 5:7, that "The texts read, "the Spirit, and the water", &c, omitting all the words from "in heaven" to "in earth" (1 John 5:8 ) inclusive. The words are not found in any Greek. MS. before the sixteenth century. They were first seen in the margin of some Latin copies. Thence they have crept into the text." In reality, 1 John 5:7-8 reads "For there are three that bear record, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

Father in creation, Son in redemption, Holy Ghost in regeneration. God still operates in different offices, just as Jesus is the Lamb of God, king of Kings, Lord of Lords, Son of David, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, prince of Peace, High Priest. See you believe Jesus is all that, but in your finite mind no way can God be One and be all of that and more. You water down God. You think God needs help of two others. If He needs help, then He’s is not God.

Can't we just believe by faith that every verse of scripture is there because God has allowed it? If God wills 1John 5:7,then His sovereign will protects it through the ages. If Erasmus or others had a different view of what this verse meant, that is of no concern to us. Our faith is in God, not man. Didn't He promise us He would guide us into all truth? Where is the faith of preachers then? Why is it so important to push something on to other believers? Spiritual pride and us-versus-them mentality kills the spirit. There are many poorer Christians that can't even afford books. But God is faithful to put a bible in the hands of those who seek Him. This causes muddied waters, puts doubts in the weaker of the faith. We are to uphold the scripture as it is written and refrain from doubtful disputations. This verse doesn't 'prove' anything about Oneness. This verse if a beautiful verse that describes God as He sees fit. We may or may not all understand it fully. Why do men feel they have to 'convert' someone to interpret verses their way? Did God authorize churches to mandate people to see it their way? 1John 5:1 "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him". This speaks of "HIM THAT BEGAT" and "HIM THAT IS BEGOTTEN OF HIM". One preacher can say ONE and another TWO, or another THREE, but I believe what God says.

The point is it was not in any manuscript until centuries after the Apostles had died. There is a doubt about the date of which that verse was written. I can explain God even with it. But do we hear a good sounding verse written in 2019 by someone and say “This sounds good let’s put it in the Bible “?

Titus 2:13.

One problem with calling out 1 John 5:7 is - that we can have zero confidence in the Sola Scriptura camps perspective. Because this verse isn’t in all of the manuscripts… we have the same problem with Luke-Acts… it was first published - much shorter than what we have in today’s KJV. The Gospel of Mark 16 … ends at what is now verse 8… so… 8+ verses missing. And then there’s the problem in the OT where the commentary was integrated in the Text over time. I kind of feel like we could nitpick all day long until we know a lot about things in the Bible and of the Bible… AND NOT know Christ-God in the power of His Resurrection.

Teaching 'don't take this figuratively' but take that 'allergorically' and 'for further discussion, read all the books and studythe ancient texts and Greek and Hebrew and Latin etc. etc. is a tall order. Good for those who study, but this 'verse dissection' isn't very edifying. The humble lowly sheep don't necessarily require shepherds that turn the simple gospel into a maze of contradictions. If the sheep can read, let God through the Holy Spirit convict their heart and He's done it for centuries, just so the UPCI knows. Yet these podcasts help me see some of the errors, which warn me. I had no idea this is what the UPCI believed before I attended. These discussions are eye openers and an answer to prayer............on how NOT to take everything as gospel from men with opinions.

I walked in the rank and file of the UPCI for 25 years… my wife grew up in it… I left about 15 years ago… maybe a little less… and I longed complained Oneness theology was too flat…. And since studying Orthodoxy for nearly 10 years and entering into the Orthodox Church a year ago come Nativity (Jan 07) - I have had a lot of unpacking to do theologically and soteriologically wise… I come here to unpack things - not to stir up strife and contention… but to evaluate things more deeply. For example - who was this Heretic Priscillia guy… he wasn’t trinitarian- as asserted - he held a Oneness and Jehovah Witness view of the Godhead. Thanks, Dr Bernard for mentioning this guy. Tertullian, the guy Oneness folks talk a lot about with ‘Trinitas’ - left Roman Orthodoxy and laid the foundation for Montanism… closely akin to a lot of UPCI positions. Your comment yesterday caused me to think - and inspired me to post this particular comment.

@@realmccoy124 Thanks for sharing. Yes, my husband and I have been 'unpacking' and taking our past UPCI experience as a learning tool. Just googled Priscillia, (I'm having a senior moment but am sure he or some other was executed because he was considered a heretic). So discussions back then could cost people their lives. Today, believers are shunned instead. Believers who can't sincerely accept the doctrine are called 'pagan trinitarians' from comments I've seen here. History can repeat itself and that is scary. A church leader may think it's edifying to discuss this on a YT comment section, but he rarely looks at the seething comments of Oneness defenders or ever rebukes that. It's like the old saying, 'he/she makes the snowballs and gets the others to throw them'.

But what do I really know. Haha. So, if you ever have questions - just ask. I hope you are encouraged and pressing towards Christ-God and the high calling He’s placed upon you.

The Priscillian heresy held a view of the Godhead similar to Sabellianism and Arianism (modern day Oneness Pentecostalism and Jehovah Witnesses) and not connected to Trinitarianism at all…. This in addition to his Gnosticism and other whackadoodle teachings I mentioned previously… so the correlation of what 1 John 5:7 says… and attempting to attribute it to the Dogma of the Trinity … seems to circle back to the Oneness Camps. Yes. I know that UPCIers do not believe that angels and human souls emanate from the Godhead… and because of sin - the Devil creates fleshly bodies and puts the human souls in them….

Unbiblical, no where is that said in the Bible. One God The Greek word Kai is translated as and, it is also Even or that is. The word And does not mean another person. Matt 28:19 says NAME singular which is Jesus. All you have to do is read through acts and notice when they mentioned baptism. Jesus is considered the Lamb of God, the King of Kings, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the High Priest. And you believe that, but you don’t believe that One God can be all of that and more. Isaiah 44:6-8 KJVS [6] Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Why is Jesus called / Identified as the Mighty God, and the everlasting Father? 1 Timothy 3:16 KJVS [16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. God put on flesh, and became as a man. Colossians 2:8-9 KJVS [8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. All that God is resides in the Body of Jesus. Acts 20:28 (NKJV) 28 Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. God is Spirit. How does a Spirit have blood? There is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. So God produced a human body to be sacrificed for the payment of sin for all. Well over 300 times the singular pronoun is used when speaking of God. The Greek Τριάδα is translated trinity. Not once is it used by the Apostles, nor of the OT writers. What have you been drinking? You can’t separate words and form a doctrine. That’s very heretical. Besides Holy Spirit is God in action. And Jesus was BORN OF A WOMAN IN THE FULLNESS OF TIME. Titus 2:13.

Father is not a name. Son is not a name, neither is Holy Spirit. They are titles. You have a reading problem. Jesus was baptized as He said to John the Baptist to fulfill all righteousness. Matt 28:19 says NAME SINGULAR. All baptisms by the Apostles were done in the name of Jesus the only saving name given to men. Jesus was fully human and fully God, Jesus as a human needed to pray just as we do. When He talks about sending the Holy Spirit he concludes with…. John 14:18 KJVS I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Jesus identified Himself with the Father in a way that husband and wife cannot be identified with each other. John 14:9-11. 54. Does the Bible say that there is only one wise God? Yes. Jude 25. 55. Titus 2:13.

"For there are three that bear record in heaven" - Doesn't 'bearing record' mean a 'witness'? A witness is someone who testifies of something, who has an independent free mind that can choose, or has a will of it's own. An inanimate object can't be a witness or bear record of anything. 1John 5:7 does not say that there is one that bears record. It says three. That to me, would mean that these three have individual wills, yet because they always agree (Father, Word and Holy Ghost), we believe that these three, who bear record, are three. Manifestations cannot agree. If a court asks for 3 witnesses and a man (who is a father, a son, and an uncle) has to be a witness, he isn't going to expect the court to accept him bearing record for three of his titles. He is one individual mind and the court will only accept his testimony. They will seek the other two witnesses. Yes, the verse says that these three are one. Trinitarians accept this as well. God WILLED and authored this verse in His perfect way; there is no shame in admitting that we can't always understand. We give all glory to God. Because we can't wrap our minds around it, doesn't mean we cause confusions and suppositions. There are three in one. Three persons or three manifestations? There are three who have the sovereign will to bear record. It's up to us to ask our Father what it means, if He wills to let us know. Meantime, all these discussions and podcasts are opinions, and thoughts of men, including my own. But I would hope that men of God and believers are fearfully careful with their words and teachings on these verses with a fearful restraint, not giving the impression that "I say it, therefore it is true". Believers can discuss and give their opinion, but always remind each other that these are JUST our thoughts and beliefs, according to our personal study. Hebrews 4:12: "For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

@@revamp6612 That's a good point, and no, I can't explain how blood and water can witness, unless we can 100% know what water and blood mean here. But God knows. Verse 8 says: "and there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood; and these three agree in one." At least we know of One, the spirit who witnesses here.

@@jackiet5334 actually we can understand it. We can even understand who the “ONE” is in 1st John 5:7 as well. Verse 5 and 6 hint at it. Verse 8 clears it up. And John 19:34 backs it up.

Dr Bernard, like many UPCI apologists, hop back and forth thousands of years with little tidbits that are ‘factual but misleading’… One moment we’re in 16th Century… and he references a Heretic from Spain who lived between 340 and 385 AD. Flip flopping in time - back and forth like a US Open tennis match - really obscures details and confuses the listener. Could you all do a time line visual and queue the listener when you’re picking and choosing your fact flinging events when they occurred in time?

Heretic Priscilla - 340-385 AD. Had MANY unorthodox doctrines… a blending of Gnosticism and Manichaeism … an example of his teachings - ‘angels and human souls emanated from the Godhead, that bodies were created by the devil, and that human souls were joined to bodies as a punishment for sins. These teachings led to the denial of the true humanity of Christ-God. So - 11 treatises ascribed to Priscillian unorthodox teachings - were published - His…. Not the Church… version of the ‘Trinity’ - “the Son differs from the Father”…. (Which sounds a lot like the things Oneness throw around as the Dogma… but isn’t the Dogma…. Published in 1889.

Question:What is the name of the Father? Answer:(Deuteronomy 6:4) “Hear, O Israel: [a]The Lord our God, the Lord is one! -So the Name of the Father is "Lord". Question:What is the name of the Son? Answer:Its "Jesus" Question:What is the Name of the Holy Spirit? Answer:Its "Christ" So the Name of the Father,Son and Holy Spirit is "LORD JESUS CHRIST".This is the Name that needs to be use when baptizing in water. Not Jesus,Not Christ but it should be a complete Name."I BAPTIZE YOU IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST".

This is certainly a new one on me… Christ is not ‘Holy Spirit’… it is not the name of the Holy Spirit. This statement is neither ‘correct’ in Oneness or Trinitarian positions regarding the Godhead… This is a perfect example of improper exegesis. You’ve stuffed things into the Text that the text does not remotely say or imply.

[7] And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I appointed the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and shall come, let them shew unto them. [8] Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it ? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. Revelation 1:7-8 KJVS [7] Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. [8] I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. There can’t be two first and last. Isaiah 9:6 KJVS [6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. [9] For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Jude 1:25 KJVS [25] To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. The OT is clear that ONE God was taught, then after the Apostles died He changed His mind? Mark 12:29 KJVS And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Zechariah 12:10 (KJV) 10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon ME whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Who was pierced? Zechariah 14:9 (NKJV) 9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day it shall be- “The LORD is one,” And His name one. John 20:26-28 (KJV) 26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. 27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
