Thank you very much for sharing. I have been suffering from shoulder and waist pain before. Later, my friend introduced me a posture corrector, which successfully relieved my pain and bad posture by physically correcting the incorrect posture. Hope to help more people: amz.run/4npN
The brace WORKS.. only if you use it to get feedback from the strap that you are slouching. You need to engage the muscles to keep upright and THAT is what works. The brace helps to remind the the upper back is slouching. Period.

I am sure the brace works, the guy just wants to advertise for his fitness business so that people use expensive personal training sessions instead of the brace that in the long way will work and it cost you only a 20 bucks or so…
Do you notice friends /people avoiding you and your negativity you just make us want to try it more. If it just works a little. That’s more than. You NEVER did get around to poster. Get off the forum,,,,,,,,,😮😮
I agree. Complementary tools can be very helpful. Unfortunately the world isn't a perfect place. I can't even wear those all day because they get uncomfortable but when I do, it helps me engage my core more often and helps remind me what better posture actually feels like. In stressful times like these I honestly can't keep my posture in mind all day. Why not wear the brace once in awhile help out a bit and then go home and do some good strengthening exercises? I have just found the perfectionist mindset has never worked well, progress is progress! Bandaids serve a purpose, you don't get a cut and go "I better just leave this wound open, revolve my world around getting it better and then never get cut again"! I get this guy is emphasizing the importance of the work involved, but the message seems a little extreme.
That’s a good thought but naturally we will default to relying on the straps to do the work for us. It’s not making the mental habit change that is needed.
@@Fitness4BackPain you are right. I was looking for a posture corrector for a friend when I came across your video. I’m sharing this. Ideo with her. $$$ money saved.

There is nothing wrong with using a posture brace as long as you aren't relying on the posture brace to fix your core posture issues. Using the posture brace while you are consciously working on the posture issues can be positive motivator and reminder.
Reasons it doesn't work: 1:16 Not building the strength needed for change. 2:25 Gives the illusion of better posture Things to do instead: 4:16 Reset your posture often (consciously) 4:38 technique. 5:21 Tissue care (stretching) of supporting muscles. 6:17 Build strength to support muscles 7:09 exercises to help with that
stop this nonsense video. ofcourse exercises are a must. but you're not working out all day right? that thing is to help you guide your posture throughout the day. you could've just said exercise and then wear it for overall posture correction. and if an arrogant someone says he doesn't need it after the exercise, then he has too much confidence about himself and forgot that relying too much of himself got him his bad back in the first place. creating incorrect awareness is a waste of time!
Yea but who the heck is finna keep on remembering to do that all day that’s why the strap is good it keeps you always focused on it so you don’t slouch...not to the point where you can’t go through out your day
Interesting my father had bad posture. Cracked his sternum, had to wear a brace for a period of time once removed he has had perfect posture and no back issues ever since. Interesting that you seem to think it doesn’t work
The title is just clickbait. Of course the band cant lift all your weight and you will be using your muscles to keep yourself up because the straps work as a reminder to not slouch. You can develop good habits with these, but ofc you need to exercise correctly as well. I have been recommended to use these by physical therapists for my previously broken collarbone and it is helping me enormously by taking baby steps
I'm gonna predict what you'll say: these are a crutch that just artificially accomplish what your own back muscles should be doing, so your back muscles will get weaker, and instead you should focus on strengthening and stretching. I'm gonna predict what you're missing: our bodies adapt to the positions we put them in in order to be most efficient (by minimizing the potential energy caused by tension and compression: increasing entropy). If a muscle is in a constant stretched state, that muscle will lengthen. If a muscle is in a constant compressed state, it will shorten. Why do you think desk workers have forward rolled shoulders, and people who sit down all the time have tight hip flexors? It's not because they strengthened their front delts, chest, or hip flexors. It's a combination of tightening of the pecks/front delts + lengthening of the upper back (rounded shoulders); and tightening of the hip flexors + lengthening of the glutes. And these changes happen ONLY because of prolonged positioning of the body. The brace makes use of the same adapting mechanism, in reverse, to cause your upper back to tighten and chest to lengthen. A training program isn't the only way. There are plenty of people with absolutely zero strength who have good posture. Edit: I was right
If you are going to sit still in front of your desk 8 hours! Ofc you need a posture corrector!! We focus on doing the work sitting that we don't remember reminding ourselves of the posture. The exercises can be done after work hour.
As someone who has scoliosis and hypermobility I had to go through countless exercises, physical therapy, and stretches. I think both exercise and a reminder (the brace) is a great investment. Completely relying on yourself for a beneficial habit to form is unlikely. They say it takes 21 days to build one. Ive been trying to hold posture for 2 years now and it's hard! With the brace it actually gives a little boost and support that actually holds my back to a slight degree giving some support for my cervical region. Personally I think it worth the investment, although if you truly have THAT much dedication good on ya
I use it a few times a month for a day or 2 as a reminder of correct posture because it’s easy to go back to poor posture without even realizing it. That’s it. The rest of the month is spent doing daily correctives for correct posture and than trying my best to carry that posture with me everyday: on my own. - Posture correctors are GREAT reminders and bring your subconscious posture to the surface so you can learn to catch yourself.
The "right way" is what works for each individual person. A brace is meant to be used in conjunction with the proper stretches and exercises. Attempt to "put in the work" yourself, step out of the gym and do some research. A brace is not meant to be cranked down until it is doing all of the work, that goes with almost any medical brace. It's a reminder for those that might need it, making posture more than a subconscious afterthought. That's exactly what you are attempting to explain in the high energetic, misunderstood, meat head with no true understanding of psychology, a very base understanding of physiology and absolutely no clue how the two interact in different personality types. Edit: You are entirely insulting to anyone that used a brace. That's why you believe there's no gray area and everyone is either for or against.
Me too this helps even when I'm lifting. It prevents rounded shoulder, which means much lower chance of getting shoulder injury. This band is like a spotter for shoulder manipulation overall.
Agreed. Wore one after breaking my collar bone and healed perfectly and improved posture and reduced back pain. They work when you use them properly and not a 5$ backpack strap thing off of amazon.
I agree. My back pain was horrible, but this thing is training my shoulders to stay back. I feel better now. But I also am doing W stretches all the time.
@@psbara alone? Of course they don't correct posture... But along with stretches and muscle building the posture brace is a tool to train you to keep the correct position. They do help a lot and even physical therapist recommend them for people who have had incorrect posture for a very long time. It's an aid, nothing more or less.
I think these are a good AID! I say this to say, don’t forget the exercises that we need to support our back but just like a waist belt that you’d use for heavy deadlifts or knee sleeves you use to squat, it’s just a support. So don’t rely on the posture corrector alone to give you the posture, but use it to help in tandem with the proper exercises
Any crutch will make you weaker right where you need to be stronger i.e. orthotic insoles for flat feet. However, there appears to be a use to these things that is different to that of a support or a brace in reminding the wearer to engage the appropriate chains for good posture. I'd be interested in seeing what people's results are after extended periods of not wearing posture braces. I can see people ending up having to go back to wearing it and thus it would become a crutch either way.
This is bs. I wear one and this one just REMINDS you when youre not straight. When u wanna go in comfort zone again, then its reminding you, thats it. U still can sit howerever you want, this back corrector isnt doing the work, you still need to do it, its not a machine.
Back strap is good for those who are on a computer for hours. It those keep you from warping your back. I do agree doing back exercise is important, but the reality is most people won’t exercise. 🙈😁
@@Fitness4BackPain Im not saying what your doing is bad, it’s a very smart way to invest in your company but from my experience on using a posture corrector and I’ve been going to the gym for over 11 years already it’s worked great and for beginners it will help a lot with lifting weights correctly
I was considering buying one because I've recently gained a large amount of weight and don't have the proper strength to sit straight but I'll reconsider buying a brace and will definitely try and get myself into the habit to get the muscles strong.
Hello! You must have good posture “in mind” while lifting and etc. this thing can help make those mind muscle connections in the beginning. Merely a tool to use in the “beginning” of your posture/ weight lighting journey
I think what this could potentially help in is stretching out tights chest muscles that bunch up your shoulders together. So when you’re not building strength for your back muscles you’re loosening up your too tight chest muscles. That would be pretty helpsful
I bet those delusional people that wrote negative comments regarding this video are still wearing their useless posture braces because their too lazy to do the strengthening exercises that are necessary.
Idk why you're so polarized on this topic but I think as most commenters have suggested a combination of the two would be the most beneficial. And they clearly help, you could compare it to having to wear a retainer to keep your teeth straight.
Except braces actually correct the position of your teeth over time to where you don’t have to wear them. Posture braces don’t do that. There really isn’t a comparison between the two.
It works for Hypermobile people. It works great, helping you build the mucle needed to support your posture yourself and temporarily reliving the pain caused by overextended shoulders.
In the 1960s my father had to wear a special vest that would hold to sandbags on a string pulling your neck back to correct your posture it definitely alleviated his back pain
Get the brace, they do help. Remember this guy is selling things, too. I'm literally wearing one right now. It DOES force you to hold yourself up with muscle.
I used this type of posture corrector and what I felt it did for me was that it was uncomfortable. In order for it to be bearable, I had to consciencely correct my posture my self
Obviously just wearing a strap will not build strength.. that’s common sense. However when I broke my collar bone and was told pay a ton of money for one from the hospital or buy one online I did and healed perfectly and it improved my posture as well. Do you even have any qualifications to talk about health lol?
Do you have the measured results so you can prove your posture was improved? You bought one to help heal a broken collar bone you’re trolling the wrong video.
@@Fitness4BackPain you can just say you’re not a doctor that you’re unqualified to talk about it and overall wrong or continue embarrassing yourself lol.
Ohh I should ditch the brace because it's a placebo and only strength training helps? Several tucked front lever pull ups sets multiple times a week should count as strong back. And yet if I don't wear the brace regularly at work my lower back will get horrible pains. Perhaps add the disclaimer you are spewing bullshit that only applies to some people
Disagree...he said if your mature, you have stopped growing.. Hence your unable to correct posture as you would when someone is still in the tender periods of growth... But from my point of view... I see a mature person fully grown, however this adult is beginning to grow in a slump back position.. if you can wear a brace that aids in several ways to discourage that back curvature... Go for it.... Any help is better than no help.. I like the reminder to use muscles that you normally wouldn't...
Posture correcter helped me breathe better because my back is a bit fucked and not much air going into my lungs because my body is fucked I used them and they really do help me a bit
Ehh I would use that time to build my own awareness without it. Look in the mirror..watch your form and your posture that’s how you work towards not needing one.
could you suggest me a corrector or strap? I know you said they dont work but I have such bad poster that if i dont pay attention my back literally slumps
These braces work. That's why they (and tape) are used by professionals. Training is of course good as well, but it's weird to lie about the braces. They do not only help temporarily, they actually help having a lasting effect since they are effective at correcting posture.
I have a questions ! Im a mx racer . I have , not terrible posture , but not good either and What i i have noticed is that When on my bike and on the track , I can see on pictures and videos that my bodyposition on the bike is bad, head / shoulders rolled forward. Do you think a Brace like a posture corrector Could be to my advantedge in a situation such as Mine ? Not to permanently fix my bad posture but to help me to get my shoulders back for when im training to get my bodyposition on the bike better?
Temporarily yes but it’s like duct tape. More awareness, strength and endurance in these postural muscles will help. Also making sure you don’t have an unrealistic expectation of “good posture” when riding...
@@Fitness4BackPain thanks for the answer! I might order One then. I notice when im Riding that if I think about my posture , I can fix it but since so much happens when you riding it’s very easy to get distracted and forget about it ! This might be a Good reminder !
dang man idk what i was expecting when i was about to buy this. thanks for saving me $19.99 haha i was just so desperate for no more back pain. this thing probably does more bad than good because if you do use it all the time it probably makes the muscles weaker
HES NOT RIGHT. he is but when u have scoliosis and are deaking with an injury bed riddi g u for a long time. Or suffered some kund of accident. Hes wrong. I have scoluosis a d-cup and had heen in a bad accident bed rudding me for a loooong time. I have to use a scarf a lot cuz the upper back pain is FUCKED. But yah it does take training and practice. I did that my whole life. But....i recently refucked up my leg once again out of commision for a loooong as time. And im once again having yo use the scarf.
Says the guy who works out. Lol i had my leg reconstructed a decade ago and didnt get to walk for 3 years. I made sure u kept my corebetrong did yoga good diet. And god my back was fine. I gave scoliosis so ive always done my best to keep up. With my leg messed up again amd its again been s years. With huge d- cups. I have to wear a scarf around my shoulders and aling my back. I train my posture to get rid of extreme back pain. EXTREME BACK PAIN. And ut helps. Uts not a back brace but a scarf. And it works. Im actually wanting to try a back brace but i think hes wrong
Lol oh god, ok look this video is more for the people that are perfectly fine but just never learned how to have good postre and are always hunched over because theyre too Lazy to hold their shoulders up or simply just forget to sit up straight or stand straight. Again im not talking about the people that cant because of some health problem. Im talking about the people that are perfectly healthy but just have bad postre. healthy people see this strap as a solution to their lazyness. Its just like buying apples already sliced for triple the normal price of the apple lol
