They claim Alexa is only always listening for the wake up word--then and only then is it recording. That's demonstrably not true. I had my wife finally convince it was true (I thought it was) so she would allow the echo in the family room. I wanted her to be able to answer the door (Ring connected), from her chair, be able to call me up-stairs on the echo in the TV room, video call her daughter, etc. Those plans all came crashing down when, she was talking to me about what's for dinner and said the word "potato". Now, "potato" does not sound anything like "Alexa", yet the echo device chimed up "I'll add potato to your list." My wife freaked out. Now the device is sitting on a table near the front door.
Yes and no. Alexa devices have to be "listening" in order to prepare for the word "Alexa" to began recording your voice. However, there is a possibility that anything before the word "Alexa" could be recorded and just not available to the user. You never know. (Shrugs)
@@JustSoYouKnowDom I just found out that there is apps you can get to make Alexa listen while your not at home . The Alexa was in my daughters room well every day her and her mom would leave for work and school I would immediately close my daughters door because I knew her mom was being nosey sure enough she would come home out of the blue and check that door lol
I can take this subject one step further by informing you that for at least the echo show 10 it not only listens to your voice but also any noise you make. How do I prove this? It’s easy. I have my show 10 set up so that if it’s not being used the device is supposed to power down into a sleep mode until I call on it for use YET the device automatically powers up when I simply walk into the room it’s located. It does this without me using the wake word.
You’re preaching to the choir I have been a podcast or for three years a radio personality Broadcaster and Podcaster for three years and you’re preaching to the choir I could not agree with you more if you’re going to hear my voice every single day can you information do investigative reporting anything they want to be paying you a lot more while paying all of us a lot more than what they’re paying us aren’t you getting paid I’m getting paid but it’s just not enough they need to pay us a lot more and they’re taking advantage big time. I request you to enlighten me... if alexa helps a 6 year old call his mother... when he is alone and his mother is out side home with her cell phone (In which her alexa application is linked to Echo) with her. Lets say the 6 year old is at home and his mother is ten miles away with her cell... Can this baby say... Alexa... Call mom please?? Can it ... by thhis way...establish a two way communication between the baby boy and his mother??? Thank you
Yes it can call if you ask Alexa call so n so(name given in the contacts) my kids call their Dad who’s traveling on intentional flight…so yes its possible
Sir... Can one family member request previous recordings made by other family member when they are not around... while the amazon account belongs not to him nut to the person who is not present???
If the person has access to the Amazon account then that person can view and listen to any recordings of any devices linked to that account and at any time. They would need to be logged into the Amazon account either via computer, mobile or via Amazon app.

Ok gotcha, well I just tried it on my end and Alexa didn’t provide me with any recording info. Instead, Alexa said “I don’t understand.” Alexa will tend to make that statement for commands that she doesn’t understand or simply can’t do.
So I was playing mw and I had all my lights off in my room and I saw blue ring reflection then I just a vid just like this and he kept saying a bunch of commands and mine heard those and then she said im sorry I didn't hear any commands...I might play some baseball with her tommorrow 😎
