Does Battery Size Matter? 

I watched this video when you first uploaded it but I just re-watched it to verify what battery I need to buy for the toro zero turn at church. Someone put a 230 CCA battery in it 3 years ago and it's finally done so I will buy a 350 CCA for it tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

I've always upgraded my 4 season tractor's battery when they were ready to be replaced usually after 5 years after taking care of them with frequent maintainer charges going from a 230, 275, 300, and now a 350cca. Someone mentioned that all they could afford is a Walmart lawn and garden battery but their Everstart brand was being made by Exide and is a reliable brand which is all I use in my tractors and automobiles always lasting 5 years, and is usually half the cost of other brands elsewhere.

Want to say I was having the same similar issues today and I looked at the battery and said 2:30 on the amperage for cold cranking I immediately went and bought a 300 cold cranking amp battery like you suggested and it totally worked you just save me a starter appreciate you bro and I have subscribing today

I have a bolens st120 with a small 12jp briggs and stratton and I run a 550cca car battery because I can and I plan on using it in the winter

Really glad I checked this...I have one but its only 285 cranking and 230 cold cranking, no wonder I'm having issues, but I also have my atv battery that was in my new 600cc atv only had 2000 kms on the battery, is the battery to old or why does it die fast to...maybe it's my wiring or maybe my coils are done

So I’m such a cheapskate that not only do I at times run batteries a tad to small I spend the time to manual desulfate my batteries with a dc welder and keep them running almost indefinitely, I have one battery that’s from 2010 that’s still going strong and I haven’t bought a new battery in 8 years, BUT he is absolutely correct, if you can’t fix/afford the potential damage of undershooting your battery for your tractor then for the love of god don’t, 99% of starters will last longer than the engine if the battery is both correct and taken care of

I just found out today after jumping a PTO clutch engagement tractor for the first time because it was given to me for free. I was charging the battery I was pulling my hair out why the PTO would not engage and there was no voltage I threw the battery and it started right up lol. Wish I saw this video first.

Any suggestion for cc in a lawn/garden tractor (twin) that is going to be used almost exclusively for snow removal? If money is no object and it's for personal use would it make sense to get something from Optima?

Just purchased a new Craftsman T110 with the 17.5 HP B&S. Battery is a weak toy at 35 AH and 150 CCA so it will one of the first upgrades. I guess it was big enough tonget it out the factory door!

i have a white 12hp, i dont buy battery for it anymore, When my car battery is to weak for our cold winter i give it to the riding mower and buy new one for my car ;) it still strong enough to start the tractor, but not enough reliable for the car. Where i live a car battery need to be changed after +/- 5 years

Thanks for sharing. I need a new lawn mower battery and the previous one is a 300cca that lasted 5 years (it has a 2018 date on it) I will replace it with a 300cca or higher

The most amps possible for cca, but it cost a tad more

Damn I didn't know that. I've had a 230cca battery in my Kohler V-Twin past 4 years because that's what Lowes told me I needed so do I need a battery with at least 300cca?
