Hopefully kids realize that getting on the field is still the most important thing. The NFL generally doesn't draft players who were high paid bench warmers. I think that might help a coach like Alex Golesh who runs the most offensive plays per game of any team in the FBS. That means there are more plays there for him to recruit to and feed more kids the ball.
The pollsters have a horton against Memphis, I believe they were added to the Top-25 this week to be a ranked opponent for Virginia, thinking they will lose and be out against next week. So PLEASE wipe the floor with them in this game! @GoTigers
IMO, The early signing days is one of the worst things regarding stability in college football. These kids can't do anything regarding football activities for months form December... why rush signing recruits?
Syracuse should have never hired Dino Babers, disagreed with the hiring when it because he was hired for all the wrong reasons! Same mistake Temple made with Stan Drayton.
East Carolina signed the top AAC class. ECU also did a great job f retaining talent on their loaded defense. They've also hit the portal hard to sign experienced players to fill their many needs on offense. Retention, recruiting PLUS the portal all are required now.
Trey, your comments with regard to HS recruiting and the transfer portal are spot on. However, I believe that this actually presents opportunities both in HS recruiting and the portal for the underdog conference schools. First, with regard to HS recruits, especially QBs, the big schools taking a star QB in the portal and also signing 5 star HS players, what happens is that the 5 stars never see the field, because the 1-year rentals are always starting over them. An underdog school can say to a 4 star, sign with us and you will get playing time earlier in your career, and not be always sitting the bench behind the portal players. Be a star with us for 2-3 years and then transfer, if you want after you are a proven commodity. Second, a lot of the portal players are 4-5 star players that are in the portal because they never got a chance to play. An underdog school can say come to our school and you will play. Third, there are a lot of portal players who are FCS stars looking to move up, and underdog schools can go after those proven players also. It's all about figuring out how to play a changing game.
