I would love to see a video showing us autumn people, how to style and get pieces for spring and summer. It’s nearly impossible to find these seasons in colors and styles I like
I just discovered you and you are absolutely brilliant. I am a guy, had my color analysis done a couple of years ago and I am a Warm Spring (in some cases I am called a True Spring I guess) and since having it done I have discovered exactly what you are talking about. For example, last week I needed a new winter coat, I go to the store and instead of going to the true and tried black coat I went for the medium golden brown, tried it on and almost immediately another customer came up to me and said something like 'that looks great, only you can wear that color'. Which taught me a lesson: knowing and using your color palette is essential, it gets you noticed, you feel more confident, you will get the job, the date, etc. Thanks so much for your videos but please say hello to us guys and not just ladies. 🙂
I just had my colors done professionally and since I have converted my closet over to what only is within my color palette, I find that getting dressed is now super simple because everything color coordinates and I can be very creative when building new outfits. I can do more with much less clothing! I love it!
Yes. I agree. I had my colors done and I'm a Spring. Ever since my clothes have changed to my ideal pallette, all my clothes mix and match so much better. It is shocking how many outfits I have made with fewer pieces.
I was fascinated lately with colour analysis and i pulled the trigger and did one for me, i was typed as an True Autumn 🍂🍁 ,i loved creating my capsule wardrobe for all seasons and i feel i have a lot of colours to explore ! Now i'm spotting clothes in my right palette immediately 😂
Great video, thankyou! I remember this science back in the late 80s and I feel that fast fashion has made quite a negative impact on how we choose our clothes and really taken away the joy of fashion. The older I get the more I appreciate dressing for my skin, hair, eyes and buying quality pieces that are an investment and compliment my wardrobe. Ps Im 50. My son hacked my youtube channel. Im not a small skiing gamer. 🤣
Another terrific instructional video ~ thank you! I've never heard that one's natural energy field outwar is strengthened when wearing the correct colors, *but* I have *felt* energized within, so it makes sense. I think Winters & Springs are sometimes frightened of that power: Oh, dear, will I stand out too much or put people off? So we need to throw our shoulders back & have the courage to look out best, not just *there,* or okay, or at least neat & clean. Blah & bleh!😜 Another aspect is Fast Fashion: we think we must be in the current style, on trend. If it's not available in our pallette, who cares, I'll just grab something! If we're willing to wait until the next season's styles come out, there may be something that works. Perhaps it will be necessary to wait - gasp - for a year! I remember your talking about waiting for several years to find just the right trench coat. You have unleashed the color beast in me, Christie. I had put it away, for many seemed not to care, which I find incredible. Thanks for bringing back the joy of color analysis!👏❣️🌈🎨
I prefer to wear a lot of warm tones. I think it has to do with my brown skin. But I think having a color palette is so important because as you said shopping is easier and I know that I will look fabulous. I used to be someone who were a lot of black, but then during the pandemic I had to do remote teaching and came to realize that my students came alive when I wore color. I have always been attracted to your videos because of the colors you wear. And now I’m embracing my own color journey.. It makes shopping easier when you know what you love to what looks good on you what colors make you radiate.
I totally agree! I had my colours done last summer and discovered I'm not warm undertones but cool....I'm a bright Winter! And am currently following your tips on creating a wardrobe, have started from scratch as I had so many yellow toned clothes. Really enjoying your style videos!
I’d really love to see more videos on color analysis. I’ve never figured mine out and at age 52 it drives me nuts! Thanks 💕 ps- how is blue warm? I don’t see how any shade of blue or purple can be warm but they are in your spring palette… ?
What stops me to discover my colors (except for the price 😅) is: once I found it out, how do I find the clothes I like, in the style I like/feel like, in the color which suit me best? sometimes I have some color(s) specific in mind and go shopping: yes, it is great enter in a shop, glance around and go out a minute later if my color is not there 😎 but this also means I could possibly not find my palette as well... 😭
Makes sense what you are saying. Coming from one who has been fascinated with this system for over a decade. I'll definitely be looking actively for what second hand low budget allows me for now. I have Deep Autumn colors, and it is helpful to understand the subtypes as well as what a personalized pallette looks like. For instance, other family members from warmer or softer undertones can tolerate shades of blue and pink that do not work with me.. Thanks for a useful video.😊
I love being able to walk into a store like Marshalls with racks and racks of clothes and b to able to do a quick scan and easily pick out my colors. From there of course I pick style. It has drastically reduced my spending, and I find pieces that I will actually wear. Same goes for lipsticks! Learning I am a dark winter was a revelation in lipstick for me as the majority of lipsticks available dont look good on me.
I’m signed up for your color analysis course and so excited!! As someone who has studied holistic health and energy work for over 15 years, I’m really interested in the energy aspect of wearing your colors.
Christie, I love you 😘 your style, your enthusiasm, your advice, your professionalism and most of all your contagious giggle and then you personal assistant Charlie 😝🥰
Hi Christie! I am 73 years old and had my colors "done" back in the 80's. I was determined to be a clear spring. Now that I am older, I find I don't want to wear bright colors anymore. Has my palette possibly changed? Should I wear softer versions of spring colors? I was so happy to hear your comments on black. I HATE black! I tend to wear browns but they are very hard to come by. Loved this video! Thanks.
I think we 70 somethings & older can up our makeup 💄 game & still wear the stronger colors of our youth. The often mentioned "feeling invisible as an older woman" can thus be counteracted. Maintain the vibrancy, ladies!😄
Most people don't change palettes as they age, but if you were a Clear Spring, you could always adopt a little more of the true spring palette that's softer and would still be in harmony with your colouring if you feel the clear is too bright.
Love that floral blazer. I can see those green pants you held up with the blazer and tank you are wearing. Deeper and different green, but I think it works. I like the deeper tone for the bottom. I had my colors done in HS. Wondering if I am still a winter.
Why don't clothing and fabric manufacturers follow color analysis? I get frustrated when I go into a store or shop online and they only have 1 color family in the store. I don't buy if I can't find my colors.
Same reason they don’t follow body-shape; so many variations and preferences for how people want to style (without taking in lifestyle requirements). It would be nice if they did, but ultimately, they will sell what the masses ask for (black) and colour trends within the industry.
On the flip side, I find this to be a great filter for not wasting my time - I stick to brands I know will cater to me! E.g. I'm a Deep Autumn, so I shop at Seasalt Cornwall & don't bother with Boden (too summer) or Joules (too spring) as a result. Can be frustrating if you're trying to branch into something new but, in that case, I just settle for an accessory in an adjacent season instead lol.
Hello Christie, thank you for all of the content you share here. I’m interested in having a color analysis, but not in learning how to do the analysis for others. I’ve been on your website-would you consider listing those people who complete your training and their contact info? I’d like to schedule with you or someone trained by you. Thanks!
I'd love to help you with your analysis! If you'd like to join my waitlist for it (I do about 10 or so a month), you can here: www.fashiontranslated.com/online-color-analysis I will definitely list students I train in future as well!
What if you're an autumn....but you live in a super hot climate? What I mean is, I love mustards. And wearing mustards but those browned-out colors always feel....wrong to wear to a picnic or a cookout?
how do I go about setting up a online color analysis with you, unless you are in Florida where I could drive or be driven. I am vision impaired, but I know that getting my colors done now will help with picking out clothes later on down the line when I have less vision than I do now. Thanks so much and I love your information about the chakras, because I totally agree that a color that lives your soul is so important. 12:42
I offer online colour analysis to the women in my online community only, but would be honoured to have you join, should you feel called: www.fashiontranslated.com/rise
Great info and channel. I’m a Winter guy with salt and pepper hair. Is this only about the waist up, or are you telling us that EVER item in our wardrobe must work synergistically to enhance our individual coloring, including the colors of our shoes and belts? I often wear chinos in a British Khaki color with my navy blue blazer, and white dress shirt. Cheers !💁🏻♂️
Thanks for some great info …. Is the only part of the course that’s actually “live” the Q&A? I have an all over the place schedule at the moment and could only do it “on my time”, was wondering how exactly it works … thanks so much … 🥰
so interesting. i had my colors done when i was a child actually. It was a gift i didn't really understand or appreciate at the time, but i would love to get a color analyst now in my 50's, . I have vitiligo now so i'm wondering if i would be a combination of seasons?
hi Christie. I have had color analysis done about 25 years ago and was wrongly told that I am a winter. For about 10 years I was wearing the wrong colors and I looked drained and older. I have always been drawn to the spring palette and get comments from people how lovely I look when I wear these colors. I have hazel eyes and medium brown hair. in the summer I would get golden tones from being in the sun.
This is Awesome, Christie! Are the modules something you can work through at your own pace or is there a set time to take the classes? I have a sporadic schedule. Also I’m concerned if there is added expense for tools and materials? If so, approximately how much would that be? Thanks so much! This is a fun video.
You can work it at your own pace, but I'll only be available for questions during the program. Yes, professional tools for your business is something you'll need to purchase when you're ready outside of the program. They're not a requirement for the program. I provide where I recommend getting those from as I don't sell them myself. Glad you enjoyed the video!
