Love the channel man! Had a 2011 a6 last year, upgrading to an s8 this fall hopefully it ends up as smooth and healthy as yours! Any tips or suggestions on what to look for in an s8? Love the v10 engine sounds better than a lambo in my opinion hahah
1st of all.. HAPPY NEW YEAR... been waiting for this clip.. You confirmed my thoughts about Dynamics. I tried to do the same thing without the Vbox(with a person with a stopwatch and Me yelling Go then Stop). At the end of the exercise all we found out was 1 We went really fast and 2 there was a lot of shouting lol. It was a great time yelling and drinking.. looking forward to the Grampa truck project.. By the way just sitting g on the deck in shorts and a Tee shirt watching this as it's around 29 degrees. Just got my A4 tinted, made a big difference to the I interior Temp. I am thinking of getting it decaled with the Auto Detour logo.
Thanks John! Happy new year! Your way sounds much funnier. LOL! You just have to rub it in don't you? I'm about 4 months out from shorts.... I'm looking forward to Grandpa truck being done! I bet the A4 looks much better too! If you put an AD decal on it, be sure to send me a picture! I'd love to see it! Thank you for the continued support!
Try a dyno run on that thing. I have heard that theese loose alot of horsepower due to carbon buildup and intake flaps faults. Great vid btw -Danish viewer, hahahaha!
I tought it was going to be faster. I have a 2011 jaguar xf 470hp stock. my fastest 0to60 was 3.9sec using a dragy gps. My only mods are k&n filters, catless,x pipe and 305 drag radials. Your car is about 100lbs heavier and 20 hp lessi though they were going to be similar.
Yes! I've had both a rear facing car seat and boosters in mine. If you're asking if you can fit all 3 at once, then probably not. The middle seat is just too narrow.
You can fit three diono seats across in the back. I’ve currently got two dionos and a recaro seat in mine. The dionos have a much slimmer footprint than other car seats. And they can be used as boosters as well.
That is a very hard question to answer in a general fashion. D3 S8's are old enought now that you have to carefully sort out the good and the bad ones. Very roughly, with just under 100k miles, in excellent condition, I'd say $18k - $19k private party and around $21k from a dealer. Hopefull that helps, but it's much easier to find one you like and then find out what you should pay for that specific car.
How much fuel did you have on board? I love driving my 2007 s8 with less than 8th of a tank. I swear it runs faster. Usually I fill up 20+ gallons so that's about 160 lbs just in fuel alone! Fuel weight makes a big difference.
Hey Ryan, Great video! I haven't even tried to switch any of the suspension settings yet one mine that I just got. I have only posted one video on my channel so far about the S8.
I believe the problem you’re having with the power braking is due to the safety cutoff when gas and brake is pressed together. Not sure if yours has that “feature” but it may. I believe my 07 Q7 had the fuel cutoff safety feature. This was a response to that whole unintended acceleration debacle.
Hey, Ryan, I finally got my Bluetooth working in my S8, works like a charm, Nice vid by the way! Around your area do they sell ethanol free gas? If so, I suggest filling up with that gas and try hitting those runs again. I see you nearing 90k miles on your S8; start saving up on the side, because you are going to get into costly repairs very soon. Cheers!
My '07 S8 has run 161.000 km. I get 4.4 sec. 0-100 km/h. after ECU tune and optimization of the essential parts (new air filters, plugs, fuel filter, carbon clean etc.) Still have a few things to do, like installing light weight brake disc's.
Carbon clean is essential if you want peak 0-60 times . I haven’t done ecu but I added a lightweight crank pulley and it seems to help a bit going to do exhaust next and that’s about it
@Tommy Salami thanks very much I wasn't the only one that was thinking that I showed the video to a buddy of mine he also wanted to do his thanks again
Maybe you can try putting it in manual and going a bit passed 7000rpm in 2nd gear so you don't have to wait for the car to shift to 3rd and getting to 60mph
Between those 2, I would definitely go for the S8! Obviously I'm biased, but you knew that. I think it's a much cleaner looking car and far less common. Thanks for watching!
