I came to say the same thing! So many times people do “experiments” but they I don’t have a control. And without it the experiment proved nothing. And I hate how some are so blatantly fake. I’ll give it a thumbs up for adhering to science, something lacking in todays youth.
This is blowing my mind. I am 20 years old and we have literally used these my whole life because some lady at drug store recommended them to my mom when I had an ear ache as a baby. We have used them ever since. We literally cut them open after we use them and are always shocked at what was “in my ear”. My whole life has been a lie
I have chronic ear infections/blockages because my inner ears are malformed which require them to be cleaned by a doctor regularly. I cannot express the amount of times someone suggested this to me. I finally have a video to show them so they stop asking about it 😭
should be illegal to sell someone a candle and tell them to lie down and precariously perch a candle on their ear. people have literally died from falling asleep and setting their sheets on fire

@@H3ctiic No I don't think it does, there's nothing that makes this effective, your earwax won't start going up a tube because there's a flame at the end, the only thing that could make this work is the heat and maybe a vacuum created by the flame, but it would leave the earwax at the bottom anyways. This reminds me of the things that you out in your skin to supposedly remove the toxins from your body, if you put them over hoy water they will also have the "toxins".
A small blurb though, doesn’t change the fact that it’s often poorly presented, and an attempt to cover up the fact that they have falsely advertised their product before, and do something as scummy as putting fake earwax into them, feels very sketch.

you can use olive oil to soften ear wax. hydrogen peroxide dissolves it I think? or it might just soften it too. idk but those actually do work, all the other home remedies, like the candle, either damage your ear or they're just bs.
You don’t clean ear wax out. It helps trap dust, dirt, and bacteria from reaching the inner ear. The ear is self cleaning so there’s no maintenance required on it.
I've seen a silicone corkscrew "q-tip" that's essentially supposed to be like a ground well drill for your ear, pulling the wax out as you turn it. I don't have a wax build-up problem. Just passing on that such a product exists, dunno if it's legit or more hype.
@@BellicV the ear is able to slowly get rid of excess wax but it's not a fast and immediate process like the natural hormone balancing your body does. Depending on the environment and lifestyle you're in a lot of people tend to have excess amounts of earwax build up. It's still good to manually clean your earwax every few months.
Yeah I knew these would not work. I did like one second of research and doctors don’t recommend putting flaming cloth near your ear. Lol Edit: I thought I should point out a big flaw in the "ear candle". Your ears naturally clean themselves, the wax only goes inside your ear because of things like earbuds and q-tips. Q-tips are actually not recommended for inner ear use because it pushes the wax into your ear. So this candle that "draws wax to the surface" is kinda suspicious because the wax is naturally at the surface. But the wax that you want to get out is pushed into your ear and you need small cameras and tools to remove it because it hardens. It should only be removed by a doctor or licensed professional. If this candle worked, then there would be doctors recommending it. But it's always someone who is a nurse or chiropractor but is not practicing medicine who promotes these.
They work incredibly well. Ive been using them since i was 7-8 and im 22 now. Ive removed so much wax its not even funny lmao. You have to use them correctly. You dont want to put too much pressure, but you also want to form a seal so that the wax and water will be drawn by the heat. For those who are gonna say “heat doesnt attract stuff” because of the way that the candle is shaped, and the physics behind heat and suction, it essentially causes your ear and the candle to form together. ALSO poke a hole in a paper plate and put the candle in the middle so the ash doesnt fall on your face. You also want to have a camera/ mirror/ someone to tell you when the flame is about 3 inches from your head. It burns extremely slow so it causes a suctioning funnel between your ear and the candle. They take about 15 minutes before you want to stop.

They don’t work lol. I’m sure those RU-vidrs saying it worked didn’t do a baseline with a candle not used in the ear. It’s just the wax from the candle that melts inside of it. It doesn’t actually remove anything.
@@kasualbeauty309 all the candle does is losen and move the wax loose. The thing isn't a vacuum like people claim it to be. I got tinnitus and if you use these on a very large solid compacted blockage it can have a possibility of making that worse. Just use those tear drop water flush syringes instead. 2-3 flushes per ear will soften and slowly come out over time. Haven't used candles or qtips in over 10 years.

@@nw6070 yeah that's why doctors usually warn not to use them. They literally are not cleaning your ear, can push earwax deeper and cause burns. It does not create a vacuum. If it did, it would be even more dangerous because it would blow out your eardrum. Have some common sense here.
These don't get ear wax out they release trapped air or water that's trapped behind a thin layer of wax that causes ear aches by applying gentle suction from the air current produced by the rising of the hot air. You can do the same thing using a newspaper. I use to swim a lot as a kid and this saved me hours of pain once I was taught it.

I remember having very painful ear infections as a kid and my mom would take me to places that did this candle and it actually stopped the pain completely every time.
They put beeswax and bottom which has the same color consistency and texture as ear wax so that it looks like it's working to get you to buy into the product
Anyone fooled by such a ridiculous scam as this deserves to get ripped off. Two seconds of critical thought by a rational adult should let one know it's bs. Same for most other scams. My problem is the stuff that appears to work as expected but it's designed to fail after the warranty is up. You can't even call the scam until you're already got! It's infuriating. At least the makers of these candles have the decency to target fools. Whirlpool though, they're trying to rip off everyone with money!

@@ilovemitaka Fools come in all shapes, colors, and ages so I understand where you're coming from. Nobody ever showed me how to spot a scam though. I just paid attention to how stuff works and why it works the way it does. You can't teach curiosity and there's no grand method to determining a scam. You just have to know stuff. Idk how to put it to words really. I've just been interested in engines, guns, electricity, technology, construction and just anything with moving parts or out-of-sight workings my whole life. Just natural curiosity. If I didn't know something so I'd read or ask people until I did in a "kinda-sorta for the most part" way in the very least. Curiosity as a life long skill has helped me more as an adult than almost any other valuable skill I have. Probably saved me thousands in diagnosing random bs problems and being able to recognize some one trying to pull one over on me. Being curious enough to find out how things work informed me enough that if I can't establish what's going on I'm immediately highly suspect of whatever I'm considering. But I do further research as I've been wrong enough times to know I'm still pretty dumb after all my reading and learning. That's usually in newer mechanical type conversations though. Science is wild! Impossible twenty years ago is very possible now and it still surprises me. Never seen these kinda candle things though and I knew soon as he said their intended use it was a scam. For any of the upward induction drafts caused by the heat to actually draw anything upward there'd need to be a perfect seal against the ear canal, it'd require a much larger flame, and any material in the ear would likely need loosened prior as ear wax serves a purpose in your bodie's plan. It wants that shit in there protecting you from bacteria and what-not. Wouldn't be any good if your ear wax fell out anytime there's the absolute tiniest amount of wind. Idk where someone would begin teaching a anti-scam course. Just seems like common sense to me. You would notice that the stuff at the bottom is what makes the smoke and the first one was burned longer there for less smoke powder substance and the second one had more due to you burning it for less time
Its not supposed to get rid of earwax… it gets rid of liquids in your ears. This candles are a huge help relieving ear pain from water not drying up properly
Prob because that is more marketable but yeah I've had to use these things a couple times as a kid to remove water I think it creates a vaccume and pulls the water out but yeah there obv scamming with the advertisement saying it clears ear wax
@@daftnord4957 I get it. I would argue that with the end inside your ear though the smoke just sits there and isn't just cycling a ton of resin into your ear. It kind of seems to warm up the inside of your ear and allows the release of some built up pressure for me. Allergy issues when seasons change.
DO NOT USE THESE I was like 8-10 my aunt used one on me. An ash fell into my ear I lost most of my hearing in it. I can hear screaming in it that's it. 35 now and still have hearing loss from using these once at a family gathering as a kid. It gives ash that is still smoldering direct access to your ear drum. If it goes in there's only one place it can hit the ear drum
@@dragomilosevic4823 its not really her fault when you knock away the ash as its going it is very easy for a piece to fall through and not be able to prevent it. That's why these should not be used, and frankly I think they should be illegal. Plus its obviously just a scam that is dangerous.
@@drowningin ash and hot wax are both risk factors, since there is likely some wax on the paper (The gunk in the bottom of the candle looks like melted wax that flowed down)
I’m pretty sure there is wax on the inside and when you burnt he candle the way actually drips down the candle creating the wax. It defiantly doesn’t clean your ear but I think you still have to light the candle for the wax to appear.
Ear candles aren’t designed to suck the ear wax out. They are designed to funnel heat into your ear to loosen and melt the wax to allow it to drain naturally.
