You know Sebastians parents raised him right. His weight is a problem of course - but he's got impeccable manners, he's clean and tidy, he's close with his family. That's the sort of person who will go far in life.
Often obese children come from closest families. I used to be obese (24stone/336lbs at age 17), and come from an extremely close family. I guess the argument could be made that a parent wants their kid to be happy no matter what, even if that means giving them the food they like the most, even if it's bad for them,
What these shows don't tell you is that overweight kids are most often kept inside by over protective patents,not allowed out to play and kept inside, being fed food they don't really want but psychologically bullied into eating,punished if they don't. I know from experience. It took the arrogant disrespect of blooming 11 year old puberty for me to say Fuck off mother I'm not eating that and I'm going out with my friends.the weight dropped right off.
I don't think the teachers would have been able to catch him if there was an ice cream truck music playing in the distance. He would have been lost forever.
I feel like they would do a lot better if they had some therapist around to whom they could talk and solve the actual issue (Low self-esteem, self-control, family issues...)

I agree completely, you need to be fit to go into the army and the fact that he also messes around isn't acceptable either, the army is so highly disciplined, they have completely different diets and stick to a strict routine on fitness and diet

That’s exactly what his dad was saying, hopefully before he turns 16 he’ll take notice of what his dad was saying. He seemed to really enjoy cadets, so maybe that was the motivation for weight loss and self discipline. Otherwise he has absolutely no chance.

Rinat has a valid reason to be upset. Her parents straight up lied to her about the kind of camp it was. If they had spoken honestly to her and got buy-in, she might not be so negative. Though honestly, the camp staff goofed in planning a camping activity without adequate equipment. It this was an ordinary recreational camp and if going on a camp out was a voluntary treat, the kids would have been more positive. But this is a weight-loss focused camp and the kids are already stressed by a low-fat diet and unaccustomed exercise, neither of which are enjoyable activities. Camping in the rain in dirty tents without any personal space is just added suffering poured over their existing misery.

Sebastian definitely has OCD...his just takes the form of cleaning, which was made clear when he said that the spot on the floor had been bothering him all day...mental preoccupation with something (in his case dirt) which doesn't stop until the problem is taken care of (in his case, cleaning) is a form of OCD.
I’ll tell you the answer to teenage obesity: let them grow up in an environment where they are encouraged to play sports and eat healthy. It’s not the kids fault they were raised this way. Plus, most people will have at least one sport they enjoy which will help them focus on the fun while exercising.

I honestly don't think they realize it. When I was 10 years old my overweight dad told me I should eat less (even tho I wasn't actually overweight)💀now that I've gotten skinny he stopped doing that but stupid people never learn.

I feel bad for Sebastian but am glad he has made progress and became friends with Jordan. Jordan's a cheerful, good lad. Rinat's spoiled and bossy but really funny. I didn't get annoyed with her like I did with Stephen. I'm glad she got motivated and continued to lose weight. Stephen's a bully and has serious anger issues.

Even the staff knew he wouldn't make it very far, after that flight of stairs his stamina was gone! At first he booked it like he was chasing a double bacon cheeseburger but after about 40 feet that sprint turned into speed walking lol
Losing weight is so uplifting I hope everyone is safe and never give up if you're on your own journey. Don't wait till new years do it now, 1 month can get you into a routine and ready for next year! 250lbs to 130lbs and I feel amazing I love life and never take for granted doing every day stuff without breathing heavy tired 24/7
