I've been missing your test videos. I can't wait for A21, so we can get more. I recently had a thought for a test. I'm not sure if you've looked into it at all, but do you know if changing the zombie block damage affects the damage cops and demos do when they explode? I doubt it does, but I like to turn that up for horde nights, so it would be interesting to know for sure.

Since you've done a few videos on screamers with the heat and with mining, I'd really like to see how they spawn when you collapse things and what not. Cause I know when I have certain buildings or areas of a building fall I've had screamers spawn. So I'd like to know more about that if you ever have a chance

Well definitely glad to know difficulty doesnt change that, however it is unlikely if I ever do play that I will play insane or rather play on the insane level. the other is questionable

Same. I'm old my reactions aren't that good...I can handle sprint...but not insane. lol And I hate 'Bullet sponge' mechanics. Give the head shots 10x damage and then i'm okay with it.

I thought you were talking game stage when I first looked. But that would likely only effect the critters your girl calls in, not the frequency. That might be an interesting experiment to try. Heat map and summoned beasts for game stage 1 and again for maxed game stage. good stuff.

I was thinking about this as I was starting a new game. Maybe because it’s early game and we are using basic tools and mostly just a campfire the heat map doesn’t rise quickly, but my group made it to after day 14 without one being spawned. Does game stage do anything to the heat? I’m thinking no?

No the gamestage doesn't affect it either. Just the activity per chunk.

Is it not a action map? So if I have a empty forge but it's on, it won't attract moany murtle, but if it's smelting steel, then it's doing an action thus contributing to the action map. I was under the impression the heat map was gone ages ago and replaced with a new system

@@capp00 where on earth did I hear it called a action map? Mandela effect confirmed lmao. I could have sworn they changed it back in like alpha 17. I've had forges running before, not doing anything, cause I'm horrible at shutting them off, but I don't get screamers until I'm doing something in the forges.

They've always been interchangeable terms. It's a game system called the "Heat map", but people started referring to it as an Action Map because people were getting confused, thinking it had something to do with heat as in temperature.

Anyone know where the heat map code sits? Preferably a config for the heat map specifically, but a file I can mod would be fine too. I don't like how it functions in the darkness falls mod so I want to modify it. I'm not looking to change the heat generated by the items/actions, but the way it spawns zombies. I can turn off the screamer, but that doesn't remove the blobl spawn of 10+ zombie hordes from the heat map.

It's not within a config file. It's hard-coded into the game. Don't know if it could be changed via C++ file or not though.

What about the zombies the screamer spawns? Would there be tougher zombies say on a level 1 character but different difficulties?

The spawned zombies is based on your gamestage.

If 30 torches get about 15%, then torches seem to give about 0.5%? Good to know if I want a bunch of screamers spawning, I just place about 200 torches in a single area, yeah?

Dunno about you man but My 7D2D loads aren't producing any zombies lol. Mod OR Vanilla. I think I may have to Reinstall the damn game...AGAIN!! lol but my 7D2D isn't producing Any zombies......AT ALL lol. Horde night is like a night off of work, alone and quiet!

I'm always up for doing any, if the audience has something to test, or I think of something. I've done SO many tests on this game, that a lot of them aren't needing of re-testing.
