Paul's testimony of seeing Jesus in a vision is the MOST IMPORTANT WITNESS that Jesus Christ is alive. Because it is ONLY the Resurrected Jesus Christ that Paul could have seen. In the NT Scripture, it was written that there was a lie circulating around by the Romans and the Pharisees that the disciples came and stole the body of Jesus. Paul who previously killed Christians, his conversion is a huge testimony that ONLY a resurrected Jesus Christ who appeared to Paul could have done it. It is proof that Jesus did indeed resurrect. I follow Justin Peters ministry and find him to be very biblically accurate and I appreciate his ministry. That being said. I don’t believe that it is any of our place to say that God is not speaking to people/tribes through dreams. I believe that God has shown us plenty of examples in His word of Him doing so and I believe that He can and possibly is still doing these miracles today.
Your claims and beliefs are a denial of the clear biblical principle and ordinance of the sufficiency of Scripture as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17. I agree. There's absolutely no limit on what God could do. God can speak through our dreams if He wants to but there's a caveat on this: We can only tell if the dream comes from God if it's aligned with the scripture, otherwise the enemy will our dreams as a foothold.

I hope and pray that Justin and Jim come to truly understand that God’s children can actually have a relationship with Him. John 14:17 “…but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” Why do we know Him? Because He abides in us. What kind of a relationship would you honestly have with a person if you could never talk to them, and only read a book about them? I use to believe what these men are saying. However, after years of pushing in and seeking Him I have had way too many supernatural experiences that perfectly line of with scripture to ever go back to what I use to believe. Don’t get me wrong. Your claim that Jim and Justin only superficially know Scripture is ludicrous. They have both devoted themselves to studying the Word in its original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. They depend on the illumination of the texts uniquely provided by the Holy Spirit….but they do not seek after some kind of revelation from the Spirit that adds to or goes beyond the text. You appear to support the idea that the Spirit provides extra-biblical revelation, which is impossible because Scripture is sufficient (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

If you are honestly concerned about "serious blasphemy" then I would strongly suggest that you stop denying that God can and does speak through means other than the Bible (or don’t say that if He speak through other means it’s “not necessary”). Based on what you have stated I think you would benefit from a study on the use of “logos” vs. “rhema” in Scripture when it comes to verses that mention the Word of God. I think it might surprise you. Being a child of God is about relationship. Without the supernatural experiences that you think are unnecessary, the Apostles would have had a very different relationship with Jesus. I believe that Jesus was our perfect example of what a walk with God should look like. The pharisees knew the scriptures inside and out, but they were in no way to be our example. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure you are a strong Christian in many ways. However, if your day to day Christian walk looks more like the pharisees than Jesus, there is something missing. I love the Bible very much, but Jesus left to send us the Holy Spirit (John 15:26). Jesus didn't leave to send us the Bible. My thoughts are, God doesn't have any reason to speak to us in dreams because we have His word. But I do think the Holy Spirit reveals passages and Biblical principles through dreams as I have seen in my own experiences. But God will not tell you something that you haven't learned from scripture
Through a dream in middle of the night while sleeping Jesus (I did not see his face) appeared and told me "Did I tell you that - go and ask those who told you this to walk you through it". Needles to say the recipe did not work and when I turned in prayer to Jesus to ask Him why "his word" (as they sold it to me) was not working. This was at a Bible School of one of the Word of Faith movement "apostels". Based on this dream God succeeded to reveal so many things to me on how the word of faithers decieve His children. Based on that dream I now read my bible for myself and make a point of it to understand what the author relayed/intended through that portion of script through context and expository style. Based on that dream I now hang on the lips of people like Justin Peters, John MacArthur, RC Sproul, Costi Hinn and others. My experience has been that Jesus may at His desire audibly address you in a dream or through a sequence of scenes/scenarios/symbols tell you something. In the latter case He showed me how some of the people from WOF I hung out with is heading for judgement: one guys was litteraly telling me in response to him demanding from God "he must show up - its his word" , "he cannot go against his word - I get him to do it everytime". God showed me in a dream this guy sitting in his very expensive and beautiful house are so complacent and trust all his money more than he trusts Jesus - and he is unable to see flames underneath his very beautiful house. Scripture for both these scenarios I find in : NT Acts 9:10-11 |The Lord spoke to Ananias Acts 10:9-17 | Peter via a dream (sequence of scenes/scenarios/symbols) sees the sheet being lowered. It’s so sad that these guys see scripture in a theologically dead vacuum. They end up completely erasing the personal intimacy between God and man and locking God up in their little errant theological box. Millions have come to Christ through dreams, so they end up having to call them lairs, pretty bad. Same thing with millions around the who speak in tongues, just as MacArthur does, indulging in wide brush condemnation and accusations of worshipping demons, laughing at and mocking the brethren. It’s just so sad.
Mr Peters is all over this charismatic thing and I also agree with pretty much 99 % of his research. I don't think anyone can say God isn't moving or talking to his people today. If that were true I would have been dead decades ago.
God still speaks through dreams and visions. Look up John Paul Jackson. He makes excellent videos on dreams and visions. The wisdom for interpretation comes solely from God and many, almost all, symbols can only be understood using scripture. (Unless a dream or vision is literal.) I dream dreams often and when interpreted through the wisdom from God and my father (a pastors) assistance (again he only receives the interpretation and understanding from God alone) have never been wrong.
Please read the whole book of Joel in context and a apply some Hermeneutics and follow his timing is essential….he’s describing the great day of the Lord and then says afterward …..When will the Spirit be poured out? The Spirit will be poured out during the Millennium when Christ reigns. That is going to be the greatest time of spiritual blessing and turning to Christ, for at that time He will be reigning in person. He begins chapter 2 vs 1 with describing the day of the Lord….this starts with the great tribulation and then Christ returns….vs 28 says this scripture that you quoted will come after this

This is definately Baptist cessasion ideas. The Bible diesnt speak about many things that pertain to our daily life. Questions about major mivements, job opportunities, future marriage partner, on and on.. Each person wants to know that they are walking in Gods will daily.. this is is not true in my view - we hear from God in dreams but when we are not seeking dreams. I dont dream but in the uk where i live i dreampt clearly of my asian street mainly muslim finding the street destroyed. my house was untouched. The cessationist position on this just doesn't hold up. It amounts to something like: God only speaks in scripture (even though scripture itself is FILLED with very specific guidance in dreams and visions, and even though Peter says on the day of Pentecost that what they are experiencing is for the last days (including dreams and visions). However, I'm going to use something outside of scripture (my own reasoning) to show that even though scripture seems to suggest dreams and visions should be fairly normal, the true meaning is that they are not. Even those that claim to believe that God only speaks through scripture usually do things in life because they believe God strongly led them to do so. A calling to ministry. A call to move somewhere else. To marry a specific person. Etc. All of those things are highly subjective experiences. And it brings up the question, if you really felt God calling you repeatedly to ministry through several differnet means, is God just giving you a suggestion? If you don't follow that path to ministry does it mean you are disobeying God? In my experience , even most cessationists would speak on a way that suggests that God sometimes leads in such a clear way that to go against it would be disobedience. In sum, cessationsists think they are avoiding the issue of subjectivity by not believing in dreams and visions. But in reality, they have not really avoided the issue. They say they believe in scripture alone and that scripture is sufficient for every kind of instance of God speaking. But in reality, they revert to a highly suspect extra biblical theology based heavily on their own lack of experience to suggest God does not speak in that way, all the while relying on other subjective means of getting guidance from God (an impression, a sense that God is highlighting a scripture, an "open door", all of which I myself would agree are valid) I think it would be more intellectually honest to say either that "yes, this is what scripture says, but I disagree with it because it seems too weird and subject to abuse" or "the Bible says this but I don't think the Bible is true or authoritative."

Im with the them when it comes to the dreaming and stuff but one time I prayed at night that my girlfriend at a time would come to know God and that same night (she was sleeping when I prayed) she had a dream about God and all kinds of revelation. That is what doesnt match to me to some degree, Im still skeptic that God speaks to us directly, Im even doing a formal research on it by gathering studies, something really at an academic level to gather evidence about this "God spoke to me" topic. That dream is the only time I was a big coincidence but at the same time, factors like I was probably speaking about God a lot to her, etc etc may contribute
So how are all those Iranians getting saved? They say they are having dreams. Are they liars? They are severely persecuted over there for believing in Jesus. Be careful about speaking for the Holy Spirit. And my sheep hear my voice. You say God doesn’t have a small, still voice but he only speaks loudly and boldly. Well then how did I get saved? I didn’t hear a loud voice call to me. How do any of us get saved? Do you have a form of godliness but deny His power?
