@@AG.Floats although i agree it makes you salty if you don't do anything and play games all day it builds frustration. But gaming is gaming you enjoy it, it's an adventure, you make new friends.
@@AG.Floats It makes me happy in my misarable life. Gaming is an another reality. And 144 hz monitor did made me play better. I can't even use 60 hz monitor for normal web browsing now. Because mouse movement makes me feel like my computer is lagging. If i have money enough first thing i would do would be getting a 240 hz monitor and stronger graphic card.
It does make a huge difference but if you get used to it, it’s not too hard actually! I’m normally on 20 to 30 ping but when I play with someone on the other side of the world I get 200+ ping, which actually doesn’t bother me too much.
High fps and very low ping and hi speed Internet that's how you win that's why I give up playing battlefield and go play games where a single bullet can bring you down regardless of Internet speed still it probably matters lol
@@mbahmarijan789 lmao shit i was using back in 2013 playing CSGO cause i was too poor to buy a new 144hz monitor. gaming 800x600 @ 160hz was amazing on a 18" screen.
@@dedelt03 nah actually i think it was 640x480 to obtain 160hz. and 800x600+ was 120hz till you got to the 1080p+ then it was 60 and then anything past that was like 30hz. 1600x1200 was the max res i believe.
@@tikoblocks3224 its very similar however that is a good reason for aim assist as well other than the inaccuracy of controllers. TVs varies greatly on gtg and actual response time. There are a few tvs that do hit monitor gtg and response times but you dont take advantage of that at 60fps...compared to 144 or higher..I find myself as a decent player generally speaking but I'm currently locked at 60hz with a slow gtg and response time until my actual build is complete. And I do average to above average at times on these kind of games. Really says something there.
Yulfine I used to be GE on MM before going to client and peaked at A+/Level 10. Bought a Alienware 240hz a couple of months ago and it's night and day upgrade from my Asus 144hz(one of the top of the line 144 hz'). Albeit, 240hz is a niche, mostly for CSGO and games that can reach 240 FPS, it's rare to even get to that FPS in a game but realistically you should go for the 240hz regardless if price slightly varies. Last time I checked my 144hz monitor was like $260-$280? My 240hz was purchased for $300 and probably around $320-$340 right now, I'd spend the extra $60-$80 for a monitor that'll scale with your future builds rather than something that'll handicap your fps. I went from 12 RWS/90 ADR before buying to consistently hitting 13.5-14 RWS & 95 ADR. 144 to 240 isn't a HUGE difference like 60 to 144, but it's noticeable and yes you can utilize it ONLY IF you have the reaction time to do so, and with the feedback from stats I've been doing a lot better statistically with my 240. The only complaint with 240 hz is that they're TN panels, so colors and display aren't the best crispy, compared to my Asus, my alienware is not for watching shows on and it's a huge difference, like going from a older flat screen TV to a new 4k TV type of difference in terms of colors, pictures, clarity etc.
Man, I ran my 750 Ti for almost 3 years straight, bought used, off eBay. Finally upgraded to a 1660 Ti, and I love it, but god damn I have nostalgia for the 750 Ti
I think that no matter what if you have a low or high FPS it really doesn’t matter unless it’s like running at 12 FPS but it matters in skill and how you pursue to get around those challenges you have in gaming.
Yetanothaone he’s the top ‘aimer’/ streamer today. Are there people better than him in the world....of course, 100%. But they don’t stream or they only practice 1 or 2 games. He’s very fast and consistent in many games.
@@YankeeTM It doesn't , there is alot that goes into eSports games , I'm betting a person with better game sense on 60hz will destroy a person without game sense with 240hz easily in a competitive scenario , in 1v1 on test maps , maybe the 240hz player would win
It does make u better because you can react faster and more accurately. It allows you to better your skills more productively. It’s not easy to get better when looking at a slideshow
I have already watched the vid on linus's channel. Good video, nice that they chose CS for testing this, propably the biggest difference fps makes is in csgo
My buddy whos aiming for college esports still doesnt understand how much impact a higher refresh rate gives. So thank you for creating this test so I actually have something to send him that feels legit.
I am just saying from now- having more FPS gives you a better chance in games if you have good eyes. Imagine missing a small movement in a prop hunt for example, or not seeing an enemy in time just because you missed some frames.
Realistically, I don't think any game is really kitted for anything beyond 60FPS. Fighting games as an example have to run at 60 otherwise it, breaks the game. In this environment it makes it so everyone can each have a distinct reaction time, competitively. As it compares most to real life when moves are designed in them. Human reaction time is around 14-9F. From average to above average. Those being moves in speed and how well a player can or tends to be.
When competitive gaming I'm ALL IN on any advantage (NO CHEATING) that I can have seeing these test results makes me want, need, must have higher FPS ASAP.
I finally switched my monitor from a basic 75hz HP display to my 55’ LG 4k HDR 120hz (@1440p & 1080p, runs 4K @60Hz) smart tv. The difference is incredible, feels like I can make out every detail even when i’m dragging the view at max speed, it’s more impressive considering this TV was not designed for PC gaming first.. great product
Been watching Linus for a while, and have just discovered the GeForce channel. Awesome stuff! Great showcases, gameplay, and besides other things an all round great channel for newcomers to pc hardware. Plus, the best way to go for top tier video cards.
kellygreenii nah, you’ll definitely improve with a better pc. Not saying it’ll turn you into a pro gamer, but I just upgraded from a shitty laptop to a gaming desktop with a 240hz monitor and the difference is night and day.
3:10 - why does he say that the input is also delayed? The input is not processed by GPU, it's processed by CPU and they are probably using a similar one
Seen the full version on Linus's channel and to be honest, it does make a difference. Especially when we're talking about the jump from 60/75 to 144. That's like a huge jump. I can't tell for myself since I can't run any game past around 80-90 frames. And even if I could, my monitor is limiting me. Still amazing, thanks for making a shorter version of Linus's video, since not everyone will watch that long one.
Im so used to low fps that 30 and less doesnt bother me, Ive even played on 10 and less lol (other games not csgo especially the 10 fps game was rather demanding)
@@furiousdestroyah9999 Thats true yes im getting gt 1030 with i9 core because its christmas and you know money the power the toaster is going to burst then get new and fresh pc i dont have good monitor so the monitor could leak or overheat badly lethaly
Q: Were the hardcore CS players of last Decade bad gamers ? Ans : No. Better hardware will help crappy gamers to do better. But Best Gamers will always be at the top no matter if they use a Pentium 2 processor .
Of course it does! It makes it much easier to consistently preform due to delay in position and response. Although you won’t become an amazing gamer just by spending a bunch of money, it still makes it way easier to improve with better hardware. I would recommend better hardware for more frames any day
