I have a full American made, never used, Craftsman socket set made in the 1980's all the way up to 3/4" drive. I got it when my brother passed away and sits in the garage tool box. I am thinking of selling them all. It would be difficult to buy a new set made as well as these today. Solid steel.

@@tomsreviews238 that’s pretty cool. I think I have a couple partial sets (some went missing over the years) but I can probably conjure one complete set. But well loved. Lol

Craftsman's ratchets always were hit or miss over the years. The round head fine tooth was probably the best of the early era ratchets. The later Professional series were excellent ratchets. Some of the recent units were getting on the bulky side when compared to some of the competition. For the average homeowner they do their job.

Great ratchet, only one issue i have with it. that is 0 options, only 2 models(1/4 & 3/8). This should be the main ratchets, offered in all the flavors. They do have a new slim profile, looks like its replacing all the fat ones. But idk how much better it is, reminds me of the tekton(similar size and head).

I’ll say this I like the new craftsman offerings they are not to bad for the price thing is that I think nostalgia is making the old stuff seem better than it was, those vintage ones tho made in America are kinda meh I grew up using them for fixing things and I’m glad I bought newer stuff it’s just better for automotive. Granted I bought Wright ratchet so and one snap on. But I keep an overdrive craftsman in my box cause it’s not to bad for me at least

@@mckeeganator5844 man I just uploaded a video on my 1/4” ratchets and the first one I covered is a US made Craftsman polished teardrop. I don’t think it has ever worked quite right 🤣 So yeah, I think you’re right on the nostalgia bit. Though in many cases the new stuff can be pretty questionable lol Thanks for joining in!
