Now we need to get: Farfa with BA rulings ✅ Cimo with SPYRAL rulings Milano with Dragonmaid rulings Revz with Rokket rulings Lithium with Monarch rulings
@@furymonger5395 MilanoTheDuelist makes funny Yu-Gi-Oh shorts, RevsCards made like the longest running prog series centered around Dragon Link, and Lithium (can't remember the channel name) makes like variety stuff? I checked him out once and I honestly can't remember or wasn't my particular cup of tea.
These videos are so good! I'm literally a Konami Judge and this is the only one where I've gotten all of the questions correct. It's always nice to refresh my knowledge/and learn something new, and I'm glad you make such fun videos that are also educational.
@@luisbrieno4643 you first have to take the policy1 and ruling1 test online. After that, if you passed it, you have to take the policy2 and ruling2 tests (on paper, during YCSs and Nationals/Europeans) in Order to be able to be a judge in tier2 and above events (aka regionals and above)
Leaderboard: 1. Swagkage: 7/8 2. Dzeeff: 6/8 2. Nyhmnim: 6/8 4. Trif: 5/8 5. TeamSamuraiX1: 4/8 Edit: I rewatched the episode with Dzeeff and I thought h got 5, not 6? Edit 2: Changed Dzeeff's from 5 -> 6
Dzeeff gets an asterisk on his quiz because the answer to his last question doesn’t have a finalised answer. Based on precedents Dzeeff would get it wrong, but Coder would give the benefit to Dzeeff and call it a 6.
I love the damage calc questions cause all that time playing character decks is shining through. For example you cannot Dark Renewal a monster that was Special Summoned after destruction by battle opposed to effect.
#7: I thought that's the same as how Ryko works lol #8: It's exactly how Oviraptor interacts with Lost World. Oviraptor doesn't destroy the Token thanks to Lost World's effect protection, thus he cannot use his part of that effect to summon a Dino from the GY.
The Gozen Match ruling with the Heatleo literally is same as a Graydle targeting a Dogoran on your opponent’s field while you have a Gameicel on your field. I use this trick after using Interrupted Kaiju Slumber popping every monster on the and just normal a Graydle to steal and fill up the Kaiju counters on Kyoutou Waterfront
That last question was incredibly easy. Half the Altergeist rulings were way harder. It requires only the knowledge of what "then" means in a card text, which is pretty common knowledge. A is required to then do B. It's not hard, or difficult to remember.
Farfa is literally quaking in his moccasins or whatever knowing he’ll have to beat this run by Gage when it comes his turn. For if he doesn’t, the ridicule will return 10 fold.
Ss has literally 13 or so cards only 2 of witch are main deck monsters, plus all have copy pasted activation requirements and restrictions. I don’t like trif and I think he’s dumb as bricks but he had to answer questions over a whole mechanic it’s easy to look knowledgeable given the comparison, just think it better comparison if the question were on a bit more level playing field
I love watching this it helps me so much when I play against these decks and it helps me actually find cool outs to board states I otherwise would be absolutely stuck on what to do
That last scenario is equivalent to what he just said about Raye chained to Afterburner activation, Dingirsu with material being popped, and Widow Anchor countering Widow Anchor take control
The question with hayate and the damage step was an easy one for me because of all the testing I do with the deck on edopro. Basically, hayate just needs to do battle. She doesn’t need to do any damage whatsoever(learned this when my opponent made her have 0 atk and I still attacked directly and for effect to dump a striker card). Another interesting interaction is that if you open hornet drones and make hayate and your hayate gets destroyed by battle, you can activate her effect and dump and send raye, and once dmg calc is over and she goes the the grave, raye will then trigger to summon because she met the condition of her effect.
Played along with this. Only one I got wrong was the solemn ruling. I forgot that the there’s the Forbidden Droplet tech in Striker that can dump spells for the secondary effects.
Hey so with the six samurai question, i thought it was yes it does because six samurai sincro man doesn't say that he prevents his destruction just that it replaces it. So i figured it would still activate.
Hi Coder! Just wanted to say i’m loving your content, stumbled across your youtube and vids like these and your highlight vids are just gold to watch! I quit playing yugioh a couple of years back and yet watching your content is so entertaining, good shit man!
How Gage plays this deck since release but has never seen a "Crash Hayate" play? It's not even an obscure ruling, but rather just something the deck does.
I was surprised too, crash hayate to send a spell to be recovered by kagari happens all the time, that wasn’t even the part where raye can summon herself after being sent by hayate crashing.
@@BtFML1 because in some cases you wanna nab an anchor or any spell during battle phase. Crash hayate mill anchor/third spell, float into raye then quick link into kagari then nab an anchor, take a beater during bp then keep swinging. Or in some cases, use kagari grab, say engage if you think the opponent has a veiler which can only be used in MP.
Dude. I really thought hayate would not be able to activate its effect. It reminded me of how flamvell firedog could not activate when crashing into a monster with the same amount of attack. I guess the "after damage calculation" part is the deciding factor here for some reason
Anyone else pause these videos to give it a shot before the guest does? I'm actually glad I don't watch this live, but all of Coders other live content is fantastic. Respect and love for this series and all the hard work from "Team" Coder. 🤜
Basically the thing in about the damage step is basically It’s like in real life if you’re mad at someone and you’re going ln full rampage, nobody can tell you nothing to make you stop So the only thing that can happen in the damage step is battle oriented
Make a Madolche rulings, it has some interesting breaks with Teacher, or when Salon and Ticket are both on the field and a madolche returns to the deck
TeamSam got questions on attack point modifications. Shizuku and Kagari both modify Attack yet Gage got nothing about it. Also the Shark Cannon question is literally the Macro Cosmos ruling that the card is famous for.
Its also clever, because it is not your card that removes and then summons the card, but your opponent's Farfa, thus why the card can still be special summoned on the field... the restriction would only apply to YOU special summoning it again...
Having played Six Samurai today and encountering a similar card effect while controlling Shi En i think it will not matter if the targeted Shi En was destroyed or not. The card i faced specifically said "destroy that face-up monster AND IF YOU DO... " (Ring of Destruction) In this case it doesn't specify the card NEEDS to be destroyed for the rest of the effect to resolve. Edit: Okay i was wrong
Before I watched the video: "Gage, I watch Progression. You can't read cards, I KNOW you don't know rulings." At the end: "Wait Gage knows how to play Yugioh?"
in the middle of the day you hear a knocking on the door, you look through and its Distant Coder Coder: Hello Sir, Are you aware of the Then conjunction and its applications ?
Finally watching this now that subathon is over, even tho I watched this live. Rest up Kevin, you deserve it!!! Cant wait to see the new set up when you get the new place! coderL
At the risk of getting ridiculed, can we get a special Duelinks ruling episode? Using any of the decks since the card pool is a lot smaller? Or focusing on Battle Phase interactions?
That last question had me confuse with the "destroy another monster you control Iinstead" for sone reason I thought the instead would mean the same efect destroyes the six samurai...
Coder i need your help!! If I declare an attack with "Recital Starling“ on lets say my opponents Blue-eyes White Dragon" and I activate/have activated "Lyrilusc Assembled Nightingale“ which says: "Once per turn, during either players turn: You can detach 1XYZ material from this card; until the end of this turn, "Lyrilusc“ monsters you control can not be destroyed by battle or card effects, also you take no battle damage." Does my opponent still take the 3000 damage through "Recital Starling's“ effect? It’s effect says: "All battle damage you take from battles involving this XYZ summoned card is also inflicted to your opponent.“
Interesting that I'm sitting here, and on the fence about a lot of the rulings in the first 6, but the 7th one, I was so confused that I questioned if Konami changed the ruling once upon a time... No let me finish, I knew that in old Yugioh that monsters activated after damage calc. Hyper Hammerhead is a staple card, mate, it's the bread and butter of this ruling. I abused this ruling with him to get me out of a lot of crap in the video games. This question made me confused, like it wasn't common knowledge that Hyper Hammerhead wasn't a thing. I'm floored that he asked such a basic question, but even more floored that it ended that man's win streak.
@DistantCoder I have a question in regards to the first question. What would happen in the event that the opponent was able to fill his/her field before his end phase? Would the Raye still come back to its owner's field, would it remain banished, or would it go to its owner's GY since there was no open zone for it to summon to?
It will just attempt to go back to field and sent to GY This scenario is often happened back then with Omega banished temporary and returned while field is occupied
Based on what i've seen on the progression series, I didn't think Gage knew any rulings. I wasn't even sure he was a yugioh player, just some random guy trapped in Cimoooooooo's basement.
@distantcoder If a card is banished and returns to the field. Does it keep it's attack modifiers? For example.. if you banish a xyz monster with an already powered up galaxy eyes dragon. Does his effect stack? I assume no. But would want your ruling. Like if I zeta a monster that was summoned with black garden on the field. When it returns is it's attack now back to it's original attack?
You didn't include my favorite ruling. Raye v Crescendo. If you activate Raye on field and your opp Crescendos the Raye eff... your Raye won't be banished.
>we made it so the questions get progressively more difficult >the first question is the hardest one I got 'em all but this is pretty weird, not gonna lie.
