Hey guys, I'm comparing 3 different kinds of potatoes. I explain the difference between Red Pontiac, Kennebec, and Russet Burbank when it comes to storing and the best ways to use them. Thanks for watching.
Hey everybody, I thought this would be a good time to share what I learned after harvesting and storing different varieties of potatoes. The great thing is you can probably find these at your local farm store. I hope it helps and thanks for watching.
I'm glad you liked it. I hope it helps. I'm trying to loosen up a little bit, no matter what gardening, should be fun. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
That’s the best kind of research! Thanks for giving us some insight into those three varieties. One of my goals in the garden for this year is to finally grow grade “A” russets-the giant ones you see in stores. I’ve grown some nice ones in the past, but not the big ones. Thinking they’ll need more nutrients (manure) and water…our favorite variety is Yukon Gold.
I will continue with the research, lol. I understand what you're saying, I had some really nice russets, but I had a lot of smaller ones too. Just have to keep trying. I've grown Yukon gold's before, and they're a really good potato. Maybe I'll skip the red pontiac and try them this year. It's great to hear from you again.
Hey, it's great to hear from you again. The animals are doing great. My chickens were really slowed down on the laying, but they're getting better every day. I hope you're doing well and everything is going good for you.
What do I plant? The ones that sprout before we get them used. Seems the Yukon Gold don't sprout as fast as the Russets and the little red potatoes are hit and miss but hey they're cheap and do plant and grow just fine. Our home grown taters don't sit around long enough to sprout though.
Sounds like you do a lot of research, too, lol. All I can say is the russet burbank makes the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. Whatever you decide, I hope your potatoes turn out great this year. Thanks for watching.
I've had years where I couldn't grow a potato to save my life, remember to keep gardening fun. Sometimes, difficulties make success that much better. You're going to be fine.
