Does SOUTH PARK SNOW DAY Look Good? 

Even though this trailer makes me more hopeful about the gameplay, I will still miss the 2D graphics of the first 2. That's the thing that makes you feel that you are not only playing a South Park game, but being inside a South Park episode.

The release trailer had me a bit worried but the gameplay looks pretty fun and the 3D animation isn’t all that bad.

I’d prefer an rpg follow up to Fractured but Whole, but I trust Matt and Trey to deliver something good regardless of any doubts I have about the game

I just hope it starts off from the boys stopping a crime and just dropping the whole hero game like they did with the stick of truth

While a lot of people are kinda disappointed at that Snow Day isn't an RPG (including me a tad), I'm also glad that Trey and Matt decided to do this instead of an RPG. I would rather have Trey and Matt do something they genuinely want to do instead of them doing something only because they feel like they have to.

Yeah, I'd agree that a third Obsidian RPG would be best. But with them busy on Grounded updates and The Outer Worlds 2, this still looks fun and maybe the third in the Obsidian trilogy can still happen at some point.

I think the game is going to be really fun but I am still really mixed on the graphics I wish they did something similar to Demon Turf a game that combines 3d environments and 2d characters

It would be absolutely amazing is you could create your own party members aside from just the main new kid

The animation looks incredible, although I’m a bit sad that it’ll take away from the vibe of being in an actual South Park episode 😭

I have mixed feelings about Snow Day. It looks interesting but this isn't really what I wanted for the next South Park game. I would have preferred another massive RPG game but it is what it is. Hopefully its good 🙏

I plan to play this solo with the bots. I don't like playing games with other humans. I think as long as the story is good and as funny and entertaining as the past games I'm all in. The graphics are growing on me now.

This game is looking to be like a 3D Castle Crashers or Gauntlet Legends type game. Which isn't necessarily bad but why go down this linier route when the Southpark games are known for it's exploration and RPG mechanics at this point in time? I get trying new things but once you've played Gauntlet Legends, Castle Crashers and just to add Golden Axe and Streets of Rage you've kind of played it all. So I am worried this is more a cash-grab than it is a deeply interesting game. If it was up to me I would of loved to see them bring back that old idea where they tried making a 3D platformer akin to Simpsons Hit and Run, always loved Platformers/Collecathon Platformers and I don't think that genre would detract from the series at all, huge explorative world of Southpark, Collectables, Skill trees to add more oomph to your combat potential, puzzles and the humor we've all come to expect from the series.

i actually like the new graphical style. I get the appeal of something that looks exactly like the show, but this style inovates while staying faithful through the jerky animation and flat faces.

After watching the gameplay, I'll stay with the stick of truth 'n my fractured but whole.

I think having the right expectations is key here. As much as I would LOVE another 2.5D RPG, that is something we weren't ever promised and that's just not what this game is. I think for what it is, I am also cautiously optimistic and having the expectations in mind to not expect the RPG level play think it can be pretty fun. I prefer the 2D, but the 2D does limit the type of gameplay you can do, so I'm interested to see what type of gameplay the 3D can bring to the table. While the characters look a little weird to me, the map looks pretty cool in 3D so I hope there can be a lot of exploring the town in that medium.

I really feel like South Park is one of the games that benefits from having it set in the same town. Just like the Yakuza series, the town changes depending on the state of the town in the series. I really wish they kept the 2D aesthetics, but I understand why they didn't as it's hard to create an action game with how stiff the characters can be. They could've also went with a different theme, it's humans vs elves all over again.

This is actually what I always wanted. A South Park game you can play with your friends, as if you're kids playing a fantasy game

Being afraid of change is a very human thing, so I understand the skepticism from the fanbase about this change in direction. But, I argue that if this game was in the same format as the previous two, the RPG format, then people would still find a way to complain about it being samey. So it's kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" deal. I'm excited for this, it's different, and different is fun! Plus, the multiplayer aspect will give the game way more longevity and replayability compared to the previous games.

Gonna definitely play it with my friend, so excited that we get a multi-player south park game!

The game gives me heavy Happy Wars vibes from back on the Xbox 360, I'm looking forward to trying it out

Funfact from uni I had a talk from a producer at THQ Nordic yesterday and we watched the Snow Day trailer at the end of said talk shortly before it went online officially. It was still unlisted and had 5 views lol

It seems like most of the gameplay is in random wooded areas and mountains which is a bummer cause I loved being able to explore all of South Park so hopefully it’s still a hub area at least

They’ve done 2 fantastic games. assuming its the same team, I can see this being another hit. Only issue is Koopa Keep for a third time may get old

My gripe against this game is actually not the 3D graphics (They look pretty good and faithful to the show’s animation), but that it doesn’t seem to have the same focus of story, witty dialogue and character that were all very fun and make you feel like you’re seeing the show, and instead seems to be for similar to L4D

Is it sad they're returning to Zaron( since it was cool to see the difference is when we did the superhero thing in fractured)? Yes. BUT this looks GODDAMN awesome to me

This game being $30 is my biggest reason for worry, IMO. I fear it'll be a live service game with a low amount of story, which would suck.

For $30 it's a definite buy

They need to remake the south park game that was on playstation in 1998. The first person shooter one. That is a classic. Bring it back

While I do think it looks really good, I definitely wish we had gotten another RPG. I personally really dislike multiplayer combat (to a point where I don't even do raids in recent Pokemon games) so for it to be the focus... Not for me.

I just hope it's not a boring "beat-em-up" type of game. Hoping for interesting weapons, cool collectibles, easter eggs, some exploration, etc. The comedy aspect will definitely help it do well. I have no issues with that.

I never really been into the "squad" rpgs especially when you gotta keep switching characters it can be really annoying

Seems to be almost a 3D open world Stick of Truth sequel. While it may not be what we were expecting/wanted you can't blame them for trying something new with the franchise.

The 3D graphics remind me of the South Park games on PS1. The kart racer and turkey fighting ones.

Not what I was expecting, but in a good way. I love them are trying the 3D cause their new opening for the series looks great. I’m mainly playing for the jokes and having your friends in there with you is a plus. It’s awesome how the newer RPG games was long episode. A bunch of kids larping, basically any kid before the rise in gaming

im excited to play this but only bc its gonna be with my friends, the main appeal of this game to me is that i get to walk around southpark with my friends and seemingly get to fuck around and do whatever, i havent played the other sp games but i think ill play through them both before this game comes out

If Matt and Trey are involved, then I have faith, I understand the 3D art as they moved away from turn based combat, anything South Park I usually really like so even if the game isn't amazing I'm sure ill still have fun just running around the south park world and enjoying the ranchy story :)

At first I thought it was going to be an enhanced remake/redo of the N64 FPS game. Just expanded massively to add the new characters and better FPS controls.

I think with their vision of the game they went with 3d because it would be hard to do in the South Park style

Cant really say im very excited but I hope its fun and I understand doing a game like this, akin to the releases before the stick of truth. I also have fears its going to be one of THOSE online based games of our age where people forget about it because it releases with little content and it almost immediately dies before it can those planned updates. Its just a worrying trend ive seen in games like that one crash bandicoot battle thing. Also the 3d models are still not as charming or appealing as the 2d style but I completely understand that the graphics had to change for this new style of game.

i am excited for just the co-op alone and i dont mind not getting another rpg they dont have to make rpgs only so we'll see how this game goes

I love all of the little Easter eggs they put into the game to give more life to it from the show. Even though it’s a different style of gameplay, I’m happy to see them expanding and trying out new things. I’m sure we will get another game in the style of the originals. A lot of people also forget about the N64 game that was a first person shooter style. I love South Park, so regardless I’m going to get this day 1.

4:03 if the cosmetics are going to “wide” im still hoping if they will bring back the kenny parka costume and lets you choose any color. the kenny parka costume is my favourite cosmetic because it really feels like me, i wear a big black coat to school, it surprisingly can cover over my face which is really funny.

I hope so, i LOVED the other games as it really looks like you are playing an episode of the show. So hopefully these new graphics are just as fun as the others.

The story seems like the rpg stories: a basic childish thing, that ties into a large and mature plotline.

It's not what I wanted or expected but I'll for sure give it a shot because it's south park and they have been on fire lately

It is definitely gonna be something different however I am excited to have a co op experience to play with friends potentially. I will miss the fact that it’ll feel like your in a South Park episode tho

Hey, there! South Park encyclopaedia here! Great video, Johnny! - The customisation booth seems to be managed by not only Tweek, but also Craig. You love to see it. - Overlook Point isn't a location from the show. My personal theory is that it isn't a singular location, rather a *point* where you can *overlook* buildings. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bunch around town so you can appreciate the buildings in 3D. - In the trainyard shot, you can see the South Park train station, confirming the whole location has been expanded. - Something you may not have seen, but during the part where Butters says "yeah, gem 'em, New Kid!", you can see the word "Bleeding" come up when attacking an enemy. This confirms status effects, and that combined with a weapon system suggests RPG elements. My personal thoughts & theories: I think the game looks amazing. I've been a massive fan for about 15 years, and in that time, it's always been my dream to explore South Park in 3D & be able to play with my girlfriend; now that those dreams are coming true, I'm very happy. There's been a lot of confusion on what type of gameplay this is, understandably (they haven't done the best job advertising it); based on everything I've seen, there's no multiplayer/online focus (thank goodness), it seems they just wanna promote those aspects of the game since no (good) South Park game has had that before. I believe it's a Hack n' Slash with heavy RPG elements, basically as close as you can get to SoT when adding 3D & optional multiplayer into the mix. If true, I'm extremely excited & can't wait to see more.

This game reminds me of the old Nintendo 64 snowball fight game in terms of aesthetics and animation. But in not sure if South Park fans loved that game or not

My biggest concern is how much of the plot will be a rehash of the Stick of Truth. Even if it's just the first part of the game until a twist happens, even that would feel SoT-y, and it's not a good sign if the first part of this game is just a less engaging retrread of SoT.

It seems like you're not gonna be a villain like Butters teased in the post-credit scene of TFbW, which I'm kinda bummed about. But I'm pretty excited about the rest of the game

The gameplay looks nice but it seems to be more like PVZ Garden Warfare, which is a good thing. Hope there is more details in the future.

I'm conflicted. Because it's like £23 on preorder but that seems just too cheap to be a full game. Indie games are usually cheaper too so I'll probably wait for a sale unless it's awesome then I'll get it sooner than later.

We had 3D models of the South Park kids for Quake II when we played with bots. There was even one of “Hitler” Cartman.

My theory is that this game is going to be a lot like Warhammer Vermintide or Darktide but that's going off of recent dialogue from the newest season

I feel like I remember overlook point in a date scene from the main show but maybe I am mistaken. It was only in like 1 episode.

Ik this might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not confident about Snow Day at all. The RPGs lended so well to the South Park setting in every way from the comedy to the look and feel of the game, and they really feel like South Park. I just don’t think there’s such a good chance this game even comes close to the RPGs considering what has been revealed through the trailers. I’m still gonna play it, and I’m hoping the game proves me wrong, but I’m having doubts.

I’m hoping a tdm mode with your own guild against other guilds with balanced skills , classes & rewards . I’m atleast trying to be positive
