In this interview Paul Washer from HeartCry Missions Society explains to Scott Brown the Biblical view of Street Preaching. Visit us at www.jeremiahcry.com Newsletter eepurl.com/bZvkbT
Street preaching needs guts, instant ansering question people ask you need to have ansers on fingers, mainly women who possed ,tuff to answer,I appreciate their guts.
I preached on a corner in Philadelphia for the first time this past Saturday and Paul was right in his last statement. I was nervous, but he moment I got my first sentence out, there was no turning back and my nervousness want away. The Gospel just seem to come to me and I preached for over an hour and felt comfortable doing it.
May I know what was your opening sentence? I'm thinking of street preaching though but I'm not bold enough and I find I cand defend my faith to a lot extend. Would you mind speaking in this?
My husband transports people for a living and he shares Christ with many of them! He's always on the "street" when he shares the Gospel. I love hearing about it when he gets home.
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
More like someone who cares about others people salvation. If you reject it sure, but finding out in the end that you are going to be judged by someone who Is Infinitely perfect, won't be too pleasing if you have rejected him.
@@NoTaboos I don’t know who hurt you, but Jesus loves you more that your father did. God knows you and sees you and cares for you. Don’t put your trust in man; they let you down.
Church is for the believer not for the lost. The lost is welcomed to church in Hope's of salvation. Also church isn't a building, rather a group of believers in one accord. Street preaching is local evangelism, nothing more.
@Manufactured Consent I'm a pastor. I haven't ever taken a penny (or peso) from our church in Davao City. (My wife and I live off of my retirement pension.) There are 1000s of pastors just like me. Are you sure you want to accuse all churches of being greedy?
Is the issue a pragmatic one or is the issue a Biblical one? Should we go and preach to the people in the streets because Jesus tells us to or because we perceive that it works, whatever "works" actually means?
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
@@1Whipperin Scripture does not apply to street preaching? Of course it does!!! However, how we look at the Scripture is very important. Acts 17:17 clearly shows us that Paul spoke in the market place with those who happened to be there. I am sure there were scoffers. Jesus spoke also to those who rejected him and we have the "woes" to the religious leaders. How would Paul have known who the "dogs" were if he did not go and try to find those who may have been awakened by God?
For all the street preachers around the world, thank you and Christ be with you all . My mother was a street preacher for 40 plus years and now I look back and realize how much her conviction was for our Lord Jesus. God bless you all my brother and sisters in Christ.
Yes indeed what Paul said. It will take me several seconds to get that first statement out and then once it's out the HOLY SPIRIT is guiding my words and it is a beautiful thing.
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
@@MrCharlieC23 He does not teach works ! He uses the Ten Commandments to talk to a persons conscience. No where does he say you follow the law to be saved . He points out the fact that we need a savior by making a person look into the mirror of Gods word . We must understand that our sin is abhorrent to God and we need His free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ . If we don’t see how our sin makes God angry , then why would we need a Savior . The law is a school master it leads us to the cross . Once we our saved the law of God is no longer a burden , but a joy
I'm grateful for street preachers who record themselves and then upload it when they get attacked. As long as it isn't a self-congratulatory thing, I find it extremely useful to see how the public responds to the way they speak. Then in some instances to see how the police handle it. It gives me a gauge to determine how hostile people are the gospel.
I have found watching Gabe the Street Preacher very, very interesting. I like the fact that he stays on track..he doesn't get into lengthy conversations but he's respectful. He is not being a hypocrite. He does ask for donations on his website but is this wrong? I don't know that it is.
@@NoTaboos if the dog barking was telling you how to have your soul saved during a time where churches in the West are forced to be closed by the government.
Jools Pools yeah Gabe is one of my favorite along with Pastor David with Christ Forgiveness ministries. I don’t think there is anything wrong with taking donations and I have never heard him ask for donations on his videos. I only knew to donate because I went looking for it on his RU-vid and found his website.

I am a street preacher and i have no problem with churches. However churches lose something also, It's not about the brick and morter its all about the Blood and water. We are the temple of God .. therefore walk in the Spirit of God and share the Bible. Fore we are the Church. Please don't lose sight of our commission. Just hold to God and his word, all things work for His glory.. not ours

SORRY I HAVE TO BREAK THE NEWS ON YOU BUT, I STARTED PREACHING ON THIRD STREET PROMENADE BACK IN 2000 WITH RAY COMFORT AND HE'S A MASTER DECEIVER! YOUR FIRST CLUE SHOULD BE THAT HE'S SHARING HIS FALSE GOSPEL WITH TBN THE APOSTATE CATHOLIC CHANNEL FOUNDED BY PAUL AND JAN CROUCH! HES SECOND MISTAKE IS THAT IN HIS SERIES THE WAY OF THE MASTER, HE SAID IF SOMEBODY OR SOMEONE DOESN'T PREACH AND TEACH THE WAY THAT HE'S DOING IT, IT'S NOT DOING IT RIGHT! THAT MAKE HIM A CULT LEADER!!! EVEN IF HE USES THE TEN COMMANDMENTS AS THE STANDARD OF LIFE!!! AND HE'S MORE INTERESTED IN MAKE MONEY OF HIS PRINTING SHOP, FOR THE BIBLE TRACKS HE'S SELLING ALL THE TIME!!! PLEASE DO A REASEARCH AND DO NOT TRUST IN MAN!!!
@@REPENTB4UDYNOW1 Regardless of whether or not he was on TBN, if the Gospel was preached, I say God bless him! Walter Martin was on TBN and he preached the truth of Scripture, so that's kind of a moot point. That's like saying a person shouldn't preach the gospel outside of a nightclub because there's sinful activity there. As for your other charge of Ray Comfort criticizing other people's Gospel presentations, I've never heard him say anything close to that. The only time he's criticized Gospel presentations is if people leave out the law when presenting the Gospel, in which he's entirely correct.
Building a relationship is an essential thing! The best evangelizing method ive ever heard is the "way of the master" by kirk Cameron and ray comfort. Hands down the best technique for witnessing ive seen!
I go evangelize every Saturday I can and it's amazing how many people have never heard the true gospel. We must preach on the streets and reach out to the lost!
@@ShinGhidorah17 I find the street more fruitful. I share my faith online, but most of the time it opens the door to unproductive arguments. In person interactions are deeper and more meaningful. Online there's a lack of accountability which I'm not too interested in.
@@ShinGhidorah17 Don't think you need to be standing on a street corner preaching to a crowd... hand out some tracts and start a conversation with someone in the park. Oh yes I agree, the very first statement on approaching someone is a very tough one, but how amazing that God provides the confidence and the words to say.

A street preacher is an Evangelist - One of the five-fold ministry. Such brethren are awesome. God has given them a charisma & type of bravery. Not everyone is an Evangelist.

I followed Ray Comfort and took his training course on How to share your faith the way Jesus did. God lead me to start a Witness Team of Ladies . We call ourself Sharing Sister In Service. M y life has totally changed because of God and Ray's training.
Changed my Christian live as well. Well done sister/s. Every sincere Christian can distribute tracts, on any day when they are out and about hand one out. I've been doing that for about a year and I feel blessed. I've also started some baby steps in street preaching on the microphone. Recently while handing out tracts I started reading, not through amplifier just my voice, from John 1:1. You don't have to be a preacher to do that, you just need to know how to read. Try it brothers and sisters. Please we need to reach the lost before it's too late.
Yes, exactly which is what I think is sadly lacking..our world has a lack of conviction of sin. Now people think it's okay to have sex before marriage and to live together..it's become the norm. I have really enjoyed watching Gabe the Street Preacher..very interesting..hearing him preach, the way he preaches and people's reactions.
Part of the problem is that the gospel is lost in most churches it seems. I ask Christians what they think the gospel is and most often they have no clue. 1Cor 15:1-5

This is certainly an encouragement! It’s about being faithful, remembering that it is the Gospel that is God’s power for salvation. Salvation doesn’t depend on any man. I couldn’t save myself, I sure couldn’t save anyone else. Make Christ known, and leave the results to God.
[DOES STREET PREACHING WORK?]...it can't fail _For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God._ 1 CORINTHIANS 1 : 18

Most street preachers have more Christ given authority than these soft lukewarm rock band churches. Street preachers helped me immensely in the early days of my walk. I LOVE and pray for our street preachers.
One thing that is never talked about among many Evangelists, is the fact that the Sower prepares the field before throwing seed. You must cultivate the field,so it is ready for the seed to fall on good ground And You don't just go to a Gay Pride Parade and start Yelling. But I believe first you make your Space and make sure it's your space, then you prepare, by letting the people know first that that's what the space is for,and asking for their time, they can leave or they can listen.
Our duty is to proclaim the message by the help of the Holy Spirit (Holy Spirit is the 1st requirement of preaching and God's duty is to transform. God made both the fertile field and infertile field. God already planted a seed, we just water the seed and it grows. NO ONE CAN REPENT UNLESS THERE IS A SEED OF GOD IN HIM MEANING HE WAS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH... We are not throwing a seed, we are watering the seed the planted seed... Jesus planted a wheat and Satan planted a weed & not us planting. We do not need to prepare, that is the duty of the Holy Spirit. Ours is to pray...
I talk about God's grace and the salvation of Jesus at the gym now and sometimes at work of how God has been merciful to us by his death and resurrection
@@angryoldcanadian3905 LOL, you badly misunderstand that passage. Right after Jesus said that, Peter, James, and John saw the Kingdom of God in power. We call it the transfiguration. Atheists and their lame excuses.

It's a gift of God to be a Street Preacher . I must admit and fully admire all Street Preachers. Street preachers face a lot of oppositions, challenges, hostilities, persecutions from the crowds. It grieved me and was totally devastated when I was watching very recently on RU-vid one street preacher standing on, I believe like on an empty drum, a guy behind the preacher, kicked the drum and the preacher fell off the drum. Thank God the preacher did not fall head on the cement. The preacher just look back at the guy who did it but with a smile. The guy who kicked the drum was laughing as he walked away. I like watching and listening to street preaching and praying for them as well while preaching that the message, the Good News, would be welcome and there would be listening ears to hear the message of God's gift of salvation.
Turn or Burn people shouting at the top of their lungs has been my experience in the past. I avoided them like they were crazy but also understood God uses all things for His good and His glory. I knew we were living in a age with the water down man centered Gospel and lukewarm Christians. I felt embarrassed for them, with all the life style evangelism and relationships preached the church. It was definitely out of my comfort zone. And we are to test everything to make sure if they are of sound mind. I never confronted them because I didnt want to end up in one of those youtube videos. I really commend Street Preaching during Gay Pride parades and things like that. That is bold.
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
He did most of His preaching and teaching in the Synagogues and the Temple. And of course on the mountain. His disciples he taught everywhere. Every town He went to though it seems He went to the Synagogue first.
Love this man, but he said that "You need to build always a relationship with the people..." That sound bite could be used by those that believe in only friendship evangelism. But much grace extended to him, as I could never fit in this mans shoes.
I think it's a good point to be made to let the people know that you are preaching to them rather than at them. All too often preachers become so filled with themselves that they negate effective preaching by proposing themselves as ones without sin.
Chaplain Bill someone once told me that friendship evangelism is idolatry and that can be true. But I just feel like I should take a moment to explain that idolatry is an overused word sometimes. Cause sometimes it's what legalists will label something that they don't like. However I see a lot of basic necessity in personal evangelism. It seems that if you don't extend some kind of social curtousy to the lost person, you'll lose them for sure. After all, isn't kindness, goodness and gentleness part of the Christian life?
Go to the public market, go to the streets, go and proclaim as long as your testimony back up the loud of your voices in your silent secret private life will be bless by the Lord.
If we don't have the right information, we can't comprehend what we are learning and we can never have revelation of What God Is Trying to tell us. Street preachers are very valuable because it causes some people to go back to their information paradigm and compare it to the one of the preacher, and causes some of them to think about what they believe. Eventually something happens in people's lives and the dormant seed (Word of God) planted by the street preacher will get some water and it will start growing and develop. And Revelation will come ! 1. INFORMATION 2. COMPREHENSION 3. REVELATION God Bless the Street Preachers !!!!!!!!!!!!
Good point! I've been watching Gabe the Street Preacher. He preaches to ALL sorts of people and places. I've enjoyed watching how he preaches and people's reactions. Alot just pass by but you never know what seeds are being sown. He preaches outside of Catholic churches so yes, there probably are people who go away and think about things.
@@joolspools777 Yes, a lot of Catholics are lukewarm anyway. Their roots are not in the faith of God, but they have faith in the Pope and the TRADITION. So most of Catholic people both in Italy and here don't have roots in the Word of God, they defend their Tradition. Their faith is like hands without fingers. Many have left and will leave in time. We just need to increase the information they need to know. God will draw them to himself. They have been deceaved. I pray for them.

My fiance used to be a street preacher and would be out in the battlefield saving souls of the lost. I pray I'd be so bold. He did it like Paul Washer said. He would allow God to lead him to certain people and pray for them and share the gospel.
John the Baptist never developed a relationship with the people he preached to. And he called some that came to hear him, "Vipers! Who warned you about the wrath to come?!
That was addressed to the hypocritical religious leaders of the day. Jesus also had some harsh words to say to them. But notice that neither Jesus or John ever used that kind of harsh language for the regular populace. He has compassion for the sheep but holds those who are supposed to be shepherds to a higher standard.

Thank you so much for this. After seeing so many people like Reuben Israel and the like screaming at people at acting so vulgar I'd lost hope that there was anyone who thought like this. I'm so glad that I'm wrong on that front. This gives me hope. Thank you and thanks to God for letting me find this video.
I think that if it’s done in the right way - and the FULL Gospel must be preached - then it’s very powerful and fruitful: it’s vital. Isn’t that what Jesus and Paul often did!
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
Yes. The Gospel is the power of God. Rom1:17. IF preaching is biblical. Hold up a sign that says Jesus loves you, that is not the gospel. People must understand that they are in great and horrible danger because of sin.
Is it the preachers obligation to maintain a relationship with someone who was saved on the street? In other words, if I were street preaching and someone gets saved am I obligated to keep visiting this person, am I suppose to direct them on where they should go? Because I’m wondering what if someone gets saved but I don’t continue to teach them and they don’t attend a church... what happens then?
Does it work? Yes, I believe so. Years before I was saved I heard a street preacher on a megaphone in the centre of town. I admired his courage and faith. I didn't object to what he said, I didn't really understand what he said. Now I believe that deep within I knew that he was telling the truth. And that truth fed into my being found. Every sincere Christian can distribute tracts, on any day when they are out and about hand one out. I've been doing that for about a year and I feel blessed. in book of acts actually the early church would meet up at temple lots of people and one person may exhort. that is good idea to attract people. also in book of act the church meet in people house not a building except temple. talking to people directly while street preacher would make alittle more sense to me because that is what Jonah probably did in he walked into town and directly spoke with people and cried "your city will be destroyed" and then the town mayors got involved and told everyone to repent the whole city. so yes direct human contact is important which i never see in street preachers. i have a hard time finding in bible where preachers in bible where telling unsaved people to turn from their sins first before accepting christ.
Preach in the power of the Holy SPIRIT.. I did spme street preaching..for awhile i got loud bold. It seemed powerful but one on one was more effective. U could touch Lives and u would see the fruit. Open air you do seem like u are off your rocker.
Street preaching is the most effective way to spread the Gospel and it goes right back to the genesis of the church..... When the Holy Spirit came upon the believers at Pentecost, what is the very first thing they did? They immediately went out into the street and proclaimed the Gospel! Religiousity has twisted Christianity into something it was never ment to be. Jesus commanded us to share the Gospel to all living creatures and there is no qualification or school for it other than a man being born again of the Spirit! We have made a religion out of what should be a natural order!
I disagree that it’s the most effective way. I came to know the gospel from preachers on the internet, Daily Disciple for example, and not from preachers in the streets.
I once was so shy, people were shocked when I would say anything. God gave me boldness. I'm a happy street preacher and disciple-maker in the Philippines now.
I think God didn’t mind people preaching on the street . I think they are be deadly honest than some great well known preacher in the pulpit. Do you all considered that ? It’s about heart In poor country like Cambodia didn’t even have the building to worship God But god working inside their heart in a very great ways . Not the building but The HEART for JESUS. Amen
There are wonderful well-known preachers, and there are great street preachers, and there are great preachers in poor countries (like here in the Philippines).
I would recommend street preaching once a week on a saturday or sunday as a start. That's how I have started and now other men are doing it and between us we are covering alot of ground :) just offering some words of encouragement, I hope this helps :)
Totally Agree. If anyone hasn't seen Paul Washer street preaching in Peru, check out that video. There are a lot of crazies out there, but I put together a list of 7 that I think are doing an awesome job. That video is on my channel.
I got to know about Jesus in a Public RTD Bus full of people. 1990 I was touch by the Holy Spirit that day and felt the love of Jesus that day. I knew about Jesus yet didnt have a relationship with him. I was 20 years old very alone and miserable.
Acts 2:38 King James Version 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost..
There’s a way to do it like Paul said. There are a lot of rude street preachers that scream & shout at the top of their lungs AT ppl & it’s embarrassing to watch.
Some have the gift of prophesy, and they are vital part of the body of Christ, because (admit it or not) the church sometimes waters down and compromise the gospel. This generation needs to wake up and the street preachers are perfect for the job for they are like trumpets of God. Gotta admit though, they can be really uncompassionate, harsh, and sometimes arrogant. But I think I understand them because being with secular people and being a saint is really a challenge.
Defamation is a legal problem, bearing false witness is a spiritual one. Sometimes people are mean possibly mean like yourself that love calling other people's names to make yourself feel powerful. I feel sorry for you. Respond like this again and I will report you as harassing me.
Street preaching is cool and all but without love it’s simply ineffective. The tone in your voice can change the listeners perception of the message being said.
God called people in different ways. Some people to pray for others, some of them to heal the sick, some of them to comfort others, some of them to help God's ministry, some of them to help mentally and spiritually, some of them to preach in the street and corners, some of them to visit jails and proclaim the word of God, some of them to feed the homeless etc... whatever calling is up on you . You do it. End of the day to glorify Jesus name.
'For he that is not against us is on our part.' (Mark 9:40) Since Jesus says so we should not be against the street preachers. They are warriors of God, at least better than me. When Dr Schuller was a street preacher, he attracted so many souls to be close to God; when he preached in a great church building and worried about his retirement payment, his attraction began to lessen till the result: the church building, the famous Crystal Palace sold out.
We need to get the seeds out there quick, convict people of their sin ,they r so use to love and tolerance they need boldness of Holy Spirit to guide Go hard where u have to God waters them and will choose who throw out the 1000 seeds not 20 ,relationships hardly work, otherwise all family be converted , I used to spend heaps time in relationship didn’t work wasted my time on 1 seed when could have spread 100 God is one who chooses who to water and save !!! Spread word be bold in Christ !
All street preachers should hear this because some of the ones I seen argue with people get in fights with people and even argue and make a big deal out of the police, and will even argue with them. Christ never did this and I do not think he wants us to do this. Too bad we all couldn't be Paul Washer! Christ is truly using him to preach the word.
2:09 You just pointed out why I’m skeptical of street preachers. For me, I take more seriously the person who actually lives out his/her faith in how they interact with others. Those that glory God by being a light to the world through their good fruits (Matthew 5:14-15) and by working with their hands and living a humble and quiet life. I take that sort of witness more seriously than someone standing on a stool and shooting through a megaphone. Not that I think every street preacher is sus.
Communication is key. There is a way to speak and a way not to speak in order for people to understand what we are trying to say. Attitude colours our words and people read attitude they do not just hear the words. Also the words we use need to be explained. You cannot assume that the person you are talking to has the same understanding of the word "God" that you do. What is often ignored is that content is vital. If we are not communicating the truth of the gospel then we have a false message. The poor level of the doctrine of the gospel and salvation in the churches is often reflected in the message of those who do venture out to try to tell people about Jesus. Unfortunately my experience of church is 90% negative when it comes to preaching the gospel to strangers. Street preachers, it says in the video, often hate the church. I would say that the church often hates street preachers. Why are an increasing number of such men and other believers leaving the churches? Is it because of their sin or is it because of the sin in the churches? Each case must be taken on its own merits. If we are ashamed of Him and His words he will be ashamed of us. I fear there is much embarrassment among the churches about Jesus in public. There are a lot of tares among the wheat and they oppose the preaching of the gospel. God's Church is beautiful and made up of broken people who are being changed. It is full of problems but one of them should not be opposition to the gospel. Evangelists need to be properly equipped for the task. Pastors need to give the Evangelist room to teach in the church - to equip the saints to do evangelism Eph 4:11-14f. The Pastor model often gives an imbalance to the point where the Evangelist is just plain not welcome. It is not always so that the Evangelist is not welcome thankfully but my experience is that it is most often so. The pragmatic teaching that is so popular today opposes directly the public preaching of the gospel.
