Vanguard is hated by many as it was bricking PCs and riots response was "no its not, your just messing with settings you shouldn't be". Even LS had not one but 2 PCs bricked by the vanguard update and I think its the only time they even addressed that it even happened instead of gaslighting everyone like they normally do, because it happened to a large online personality. Due to vanguard, the direction league is currently going and this tft set having too many things that just annoyed me I've completely uninstalled everything riot and wont consider reinstalling until next set or vanguard is removed. Love league and TFT but Riot need to pull their heads out their ass.

I feel like if anything, riot will want more things on the same client. Other companies like blizzard even got games like cod/warzone on their client

super video. in my opinion they should just revemp the current league of legends client. it's outdated and it was made for one game only. if it was made with 3 games in mind it could be an ecosysteme for all game in the runterra universe. (because yes legends of runeterra would not have failed if it was in the league client for all the reason you have mentionned for TFT)

It's not worth making a new client. Don't fix what ain't broken. and I've heard that some players have bought a macbook as a dedicated TFT machine because it doesn't require vanguard.

With all due respect, you're wrong about vanguard. While it *is* invasive, it's not as threatening as you make it out to be. You said "This is unlike any other kernal level anti-cheat as they don't usually monitor what you do outside of the game" which has multiple problems. 1, they are always running in the background, thats not exclusive to vanguard, it's common practice. (Hell Divers 2 is a good example) 2, they're not constantly monitoring you, they're just running in the background. The screenshot you used in the video literally says that. It clearly says it's not doing anything, not making any calls, etc. It's idle. and 3, if vanguard got hacked, that wouldn't give the hackers your info. All it would do is let the hackers know how vanguard works, so they can make bypasses for it. None of your information would be exposed, and regardless, it's not like riot is logging all of your information. They only take the stuff they need. They don't need your home address lmao. Idk, just seemed very disingenuous. Like don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of vanguard, but it's no where near as worrisome as you make it out to be

I thought Helldivers used Easy Anti-Cheat but it seems they use nProtect, which is seemingly far worse than Vanguard. In the Article, Riot said: "[Vanguard] can attest to the fact that nothing's happened between Windows loading and the game starting" which leads me to believe that Vanguard is doing some sort of monitoring. And I didn't say anything about Riot storing personal information, if I implied that then that's poor wording on my part. What I was trying to communicate was that if someone had the source code for Vanguard, they could use that to compromise your system. I find that cause for concern as it is a potential hazard with Vanguard Nonetheless, I apologise for coming off as disengenuous, that is far from my intent. My goal was to relay player feelings and concerns about Vanguard, many of which I share.

@@GoodyTFT Yeah no worries I get that. It might just be because I work in the IT industry and knowing how these things work makes me skeptical over these things. And just to clarify, If someone got the source code for Vanguard, they wouldn't be able to get any information from the user, they'd only be able to find vulnerabilities in the application. While vanguard may be monitoring, all that stuff happens locally on the user's PC, data isn't logged/sent to riot until the application is launched. I really do appreciate your clarification tho :)

nah, there is no such "level of transparency". You dont have idea why the take the decisions they make even if they give a public reason. They just need to organize correctly the competitive schedule and define their core mechanics and the game will be fine. Dont balance the game around casuals, if they want to achieve insane boards they can play normal, hyperroll or a new game mode. bring back set 9 sistem, balance the game for diamond+ and add a game mode for casuals to have fun. there is no need for a new client, just common sense in their decision making.
