Good morning! The best way to start your day is with some ON THROTTLE! Let me know in the comments section would you take your GR COROLLA with an AUTOMATIC or MANUAL transmission!
48k for ANY Corolla is an absolute insult. It costs Toyota MAYBE 20k to build one of these piles. They just know that dummies are gonna line up for them and they can charge the premium. 🤷🏼♂️
I will take one! The exact model, color, premium package, everything same. Can you please just get me one that hasn't been beat on in its first 500 or so miles. I would like to use the owners manual and break it in the proper way. This dude is insane. I love being able to see what the car can do so I absolutely love this video. I would just prefer to not buy that exact car he was driving. If I'm spending that much money on a new car or a car with a few miles, I am going to be the one to beat on it not someone else and at the proper time. Test drive was awesome, I want to see more of this dude driving new cars, its very interesting, I subscribed.
48k you get the usual cheap looking Toyota interior, no arm rest, no power seats, and no ventilated seats. I live in Florida, I don't need heated seats.
Personally, I would say get rid of all of it. I don’t want automatic climate. I don’t want heated seats either. I don’t want any extras. I just want pure engine transmission, hot hatch, fun. 😂. Just drive experience.
Nebraska Furniture Mart home office is in Omaha. I used to go to that one all the time when I lived there. I didn't know they had expanded outside the state. Warren Buffett owns this chain.
Hello Joe Raiti, I hope you’re doing well! Will you be able to review the New Nissan GTR Nismo & the New Saleen s302 Black Label Mustang? I’m curious about what you would think about them, plus I’m not seeing too much info about them lately so I thought you’re the best person to ask for this! Also great content keep it going 💪💪
loved the livestream report - the chat moved so fast. I said hi etc. this car is getting a l to of attention. 300hp 295torq = zippy & weighs about 3,000 pounds less than my Benz haha. premium plus offers better interior materials than basic. I give it a 7.8 out of 10.
Wow. Thanks to you Joe, I bought a TRD Pro Sequoia in Ice Cap with Red Interior. The 25’s have the black interior headliner huge win for me! Anywho I am stalking this GRC with the auto, sold my STi, I miss having a manual, but this is made by Team GR. Still undecided.
Id love to have one of those car they look cool but I feel like those who want one of these manual I don't think there's anything wrong making a manual version and having an eight-speed automatic I don't know why cars don't do both anymore I get it they want to save on calls and stuff like that but I feel like it just makes it better if you can choose both
Great review like always, question, is it this one, that when you drive 85mph, catch itself on fire, and toyota deny warranty or any assistance because vehicle was driven that speed?
That would of course depend on whether or not it too self immolates. This is the reason I went for a GR86. Actually just put a deposit down on a Manual Hakone. Managed to snag one without a markup as well. Excited!
@@RaitisRides Thanks! Your video helped with my decision. I was gonna hold out for a halo white one for springtime. Personally, I didn’t think my salesman could find one let alone at cost. 1 of 415 in the US with a stick
I'd still prefer a manual GR corolla since the clutch/ short shift throws are more engaging (ordered a 24' manual with regular square grille, looks simpler/ cleaner design to me), but it's nice to see Toyota expand its market share with an auto. For people that don't want to drive manual or are always stuck in traffic during commutes, it's more managable. The increased air intakes and upgraded torque / suspension is a nice plus too. Good job Toyota ✌
Driven both the Lexus IS350 and the manual GR Corolla, both are great sporty, practical 4 door cars. It just depends on your preference really. The IS 350 has the tried and true old school 2GR 3.5L V6 that's been used in all kinds of Toyotas and Lexus for years, and has a nicer interior. Driven it thru the canyons, great throttle response and pretty good steering, well planted around corners. The GR corolla is more of a rally/ tuner style car that's more focused on performance. Therefore more basic interior, and a smaller turbo engine instead. Both make 300 horses. It's lighter so more throwable around corners. Also the turbo/ exhaust noise is pretty wild coming from a corolla. Can't go wrong with either one, long-time Toyota/ Lexus fan here 😊
Except 99% of them are sold at MSRP. I know about 50+ canadian grcs over here on the west coast. Unless you bought it used, everyone got it at msrp. Including my own 2024.
Had to come from Tiktok to see the ON THROTTLE segment. I'm outside the usual crowd but would've loved to see this in a sedan style. Also car manufacturers stop stop stop with piano black finish on the interior. Especially the door handle 🤬 Other than the interior misfires the driving experience looks and sounds fun. Especially hearing that engine.
7:42 Raiti, I am fed up with the Elantra N. Unlike the GR Corolla, the EN does NOT have a grab handle above the driver! I want one!
Manual transmissions are archaic, imo. Offering an automatic opens it up to a wider market, especially here in the US. A splash more carbon would look killer on the side vent, air curtains and spoiler.
The fender vent should be body colored. All the extra stuff is very garish. 48k for a Corolla is a bit hard to stomach. I can get a used 911 for that price.
My concern w/this 8AT variant is on the rear brake discs; are they vented, or solid? Because on the (overseas) GR Yaris, choosingv 8AT would also downgrade the rear brakes from the 6NT's vented discs to solid discs......
Other than specific upgrade packages on joint brand cars like the GT86/FRS, or the new supra, Toyota has never used Brembo on their factory installed performance brakes. MK4 supra? Advics calipers. Mr2 turbo? Advics calipers. Celica GTFour? Advics calipers. GR Corolla? Yep. Big ass Advics calipers.
I’d give my Elantra N up for this if it was not forty eight thousand big ones. Can’t beat the price for performance. The GR Corolla is one of my favorite vehicles though so no hate.
Noticed in this GR Corolla that the sports mode is correct this time, the plus sign is on the bottom. I have a 2007 camry v6 and in most Toyota's that have a sports mode that the plus sign is on the top. Why?????
whats diabolical is that TOYOTA used their STANDARD PADDLES..... this is a LIMITED sports car meaning it's not as mass produced.. why did they even cheap out on those paddles... come on TOYOTA lol
I was excited for this version coming out BUT. Here in Canada it's $53.000 just for the core edition! Now I can afford it but can't justify that price for a Corolla. I ordered the Elantra N instead at $44.000 for the 2025. It's fully loaded as the GR Corolla is not and has a worse interior.
I'm not sure what you mean. See a dealership and check the infotainment system on any Corolla SE or XSE sedan, especially with JBL sound. World of difference between a 2014 and a 2025. Latest Corolla has the same infotainment software as a Camry. Don't know about hybrids, but all gas Corollas have wireless Apple car play and Android auto. The display is totally color touchscreen. The software that was called Entune was discontinued back in 2020. JBL sound makes it a complete system if you can find a Corolla Sedan with one. Based on my experience with the 2020 Corolla to present, a JBL sound system will only be found on the XSE sedan. Even then, it will only be found on 1 in 15 XSE coming off the assembly line in Japan. To the best of my knowledge, the Mississippi Plant had not installed any JBL in their XSE model. The GR Corolla is only assembled in Japan. On the premium plus, the JBL comes standard. The other GR Corolla model it's optional equipment.
I'm very disappointed that you are not wearing a white shirt. Raiti your shirt has to match the color of the car. Haha just kidding. Seriously I'm kidding. Nice review!
This car should be 30-35k max and even at that price its overpriced. Its a fun hot hatch. People in the market for a 50k car want to have the creature comforts and a nicer interior etc. The Golf R for instance is around the same price and is IMHO a much better value than the GR Corolla. Great on Toyota for building sporty cars and trying to be fun again, but these prices are a bit extreme.
@@RaitisRides My Dad's 1980 Chevy Caprice Classic. Couldn't believe he let me take it to the prom. I kept it spotless. Don't remember any door panels, but a Corolla wouldn't have fit the moment. Lol. I miss those cars. Most of the time I drove my Mom's Gremlin. 😔
That interior looks rental Grade quality for 48k no thanks, I pass. I could purchase a Mustang 5.0 base for that price and I'll get a great soundtrack from the 5.0 that no 3 cylinder Japanese rice cooker can duplicate.
