Does the ALL NEW 2021 Kia K5 disappoint? 

Thank you for reviewing a more popular trim level, not just the "loaded" top trim. Always nice to see how these lower trims are equipped, as that is what most folks can afford and where the value lies in this type of car. Bravo

I appreciate you not showing the most expensive k5, but most likely the most popular k5, which no one is reviewing.

Hyundai and Kia are not playing around. Forget their image from the 90's and early 2000's, they are completely different automaker now.

Taller sidewalls are better when you have lots of potholes. The 16" wheels are fine plus cost less money.

I'd buy that anytime. Kia and Hyundai is just something else nowadays. Honestly I prefer this over the new Sonata but then again, I'll give it a shot also.

I absolutely loved this car when I first saw it in February, but I’ve noticed the US version is very different from the one released in Korea, and I think it’s such a shame! I really hope Kia decides to bring over the same features and interior design as the Korean version because that version of the K5 is still my dream car.

It does not disappoint. Just got an EX and am very happy. The 180hp is more than enough for a daily driver. I do think the GT needs AWD to apply the power, maybe in 2022 or 23.

Short answer, No. I absolutely love this redesign!!! They hot a lot of great points with the redesign here and look....hydraulic struts!!!! On a base trim...Kia!!! Bruh... they out here showing up all other companies that stay doing prop rods!!! That interior is fire!!! Wish we got a few more of the Korea spec goodies though🤨🤨🤨 but overall great package!!! No CVT!!! Driiiive moooodes??!!! AWD optional!!! And look at that truuuunk!!! Kinda feel like it should've been made a lift back though, especially with that tasteful chrome trim🤨🤨🧐🤔🤔🤔Maaaaaaaaan.... I drive an Accord right now and honestly I may need to look into this for my next car! I’ve always loved Honda and Toyota, never thought I’d be interested in a Kia!

My first car was a 2001 Kia Rio, it's pretty crazy to see how for they've come in the US market.

I am becoming a die hard fan of this guy, he always surprises me with a different food or snack to pack away in these cars.

This car seems really quiet. One of my biggest complaints with my current optima is the amount of wind, tire and road noise that gets into my cabin. I'm glad to see that taken care of

Man, I absolutely love Hyundai / Kia / Genesis. I've owned 2 Kia's and a Hyundai all from 2006+ and genuinely enjoyed every single one of them. My last daily was a 2009 Spectra5 SX and even being a decade old it was great. Sport tuned suspension handled like a champ. It unfortunately recently had issues that didn't make sense fixing investment wise so I ended up getting an MK7 Jetta and although I love the Jetta the handling on the Kia was so much more dynamic and engaging. The Jetta is currently getting it's yearly ceramic coating / rustproof done and the dealer lent me a 2020 Optima LXS and it's great for the price. Just such a great deal. Once I'm done with the loan on the Jetta my next car will definently be another H / K / G. I was gonna go with a Forte GT but there were no GT2 package examples and I needed a car quick.

I myself ain't much fan of Kia's but the Stinger GT and now the k5 are only ones that sort of catch my eye.

Looks great! Kia could’ve knocked it out of the park by bringing all the South Korea K5 features, but I’m still a fan!

I bought a 2012 Optima SX last July. I still love the car. Beautiful car with great features and an even better price. I have a feeling that the new GT will be my next car. Kia definitely has a customer for life.

I love it! Im trying to sway my girlfriend to buy this new Kia k5, but the GT-Line variant. She wants the 2020 Honda Accord but she is open to test driving this Kia K5. That WolfGrey color on the GT-Line is beautiful.

Wow is almost a base model trim! Kia knocked it out of the park!I'd be pissed if I bought a 19 or 20 optima!

I'm happy that Kia stuck with a lever for the trans shifter instead of Hyundai's rotary knob.

The design is nice but the Korean version is so much better. They left out so many features, even with the fully loaded trim. With that many features cut out it's a hard pass. I'd prefer the Sonata which still retains most of the features the Korean version has.

You should review the Kia Rio. It is the best value for a car you will ever find. I bought a brand new one for my son because they were basically the same price brand new as a decent used car would be.

Love the way the camera picks up the DRL's refresh like an actual EKG, which was the design inspiration for the lighting signature. Perfect coincidence!

They had to make it bigger because the new 2019+ (3rd gen) Forte/K3 was almost the same size as the outgoing Optima.

The American version cut out so many features the Korean version has . It’s very disappointing

Damn, I can't see myself buying anything except a Kia K5 in the EX trim, nothing even comes close to the design, features, and luxury interior for the price. Problem is that my first car cost me about $14k and I was planning on raising my budget to around $20k for my next car. Hopefully if I wait like 3 years, the K5 EX will get down to at least $25k. I currently own a Mazda 3 2014 and I just want a good looking sporty sedan with a really nice interior, I don't even give a shit about the engine as long as it gets good gas mileage. Like I'm sick and tired of having a hard plastic interior, it looks and feels super cheap. It's also gotta have Android Auto (Preferably wireless) and all the possible safety features. The Kia K5 EX has all of that and that nice wood like trim on the inside instead of the cheap silver plastic trim. Though what I really want is that 2022 Kia Stinger in green🤤 MF costs $52k😤 Why they gotta do this to me.
