My daughter and her husband actually bought this car yesterday and it’s one of the best cars they’ve owned it drives smoothly and luxuriously. As a former driver now back seat driver lol it felt like I was in one of those super expensive cars. They really did hit jackpot with this one.
Nice. We're sure they'll enjoy their car, ERICA Brown. With the exception of our squeaky console, it's a really good one. Thanks for sharing and for watching!
We're pretty sure that was an anomaly for our test car, Aggravated Lampshade. But since it was present (and annoying) we had to mention it. Enjoy your car and thanks for watching!
My son has this car as a long-term rental while his car is being repaired and he loves it. I test drove the Telluride and recognize the same console and easy to use controls. And great mpg! Thanks for another informative and entertaining review, unlike some of those other guys who take themselves way too seriously - you know who I’m talking about.
We are sorry to hear that, Jinshil Octavius. The K5 is a nice car, but that squeaking would drive us nuts. Maybe your dealer can help mitigate it. Good luck and thanks for watching!
That’s my car down to the color and I am a grandma. So far i’ve had no issues with the squeaky, cheesy plastic, but another owner reviewer on YT mentioned that Kia has a service bulletin out on the issue.
Just got the GT-Line in Passion Red and I have to tell you. I've never gotten so many looks before lol. Car is gorgeous & the cost, performance ratio is much higher than you would expect in a sedan in this class. GT-Line it's also the only car with AWD other than the Stinger. So that makes even more of a steal. Even with the Kia and premium package included. I mean it's not a GT or Stinger. But performs well enough for me without loss in mileage. :)
Nice review. I bought a new K5 GT LINE with premium package in passion red last month. Love it! Comfortable, 10 way power seat and lumbar adjustment means you can find the perfect position. Plenty of power, no squeak in mine or any other noises, , love the panoramic sunroof, great freeway cruiser, can't wait to drive it to las vegas next month, from my home in Southern California. It suits me fine, and I'm 62! And yes, my android connects instantly, I just pop it in the wireless charger port and boom! Its connected. And the led headlights really light up the road well.
there is actually a factory issue with the dual climate control rubbing onto the right side trim; I had to remove my trim and mask it so it doesn't squeak. Other than that really awesome car.
Another excellent review. The front-wheel-drive is disappointing for me. I know that goes with the territory, though. Wireless charging should be included with every car these days. I need Apple Carplay for my iPhone. It's a shame about all of that cheesy plastic, as well. I'd like to see the up models. Thanks, Chris.
Yeah. This was kind of a tough one to review, because it truly is a really good "regular" car, which is what many people need. Even the pressure point in the seat isn't that serious, since everyone's back isn't like mine. But the squeaking was frustrating and very noticeable. I was surprised the mic didn't pick it up until I put it close to the source, but I'm glad I was able to record it so I didn't sound like I was crazy. LOL Thanks for watching, Ron LHeureux!
@@AutoAcademics It's pretty likely that my bad back which was also crushed is a clue as to your back pain. I have, with a number of new cars found that a decent auto upholstery person can remedy that issue quickly and inexpensively. If someone wanted to, they could have a simple hand could have a simple hand pump lumbar bladder installed at the same time.
I'm driving the lxs as a rental and wow at first I was mad they didn't give me the premium which was the maxima cuz it was available 🙃 but after driving this off the lot that frown turned upside-down 😂 Android connection was a breeze plays my Playlist from right where I left it my camry does too but it's the little things do I dare say I don't miss my car 😅 acceleration is so quick omg I gotta put my camry in sports for that 🤭
@Manny Rosy dealer has it at 28k but there was a dealership discount for 4K which brought it down to 24k. Was 4K for state tax and fees so I could have walked away with the car for 28k but I got most add on gap insurance, wheels and tire insurance, bumper to bumper etc then it went up to 33k still good price compared to others I’ve heard they buy a basic trim for everything I got.
I believe I found my new ride. I’ll need to check It out in person and test drive it. I currently drive a Forte 2017. This K5 is definitely for me. Thanks for this review I’m watching from New Jersey.
While ours had the squeaky interior trim, we think that was an anomaly with our tester, Timbuktu G, and that this will make a great car. Kia's doing big things right now. Good luck and thanks for watching!
We can't speak on CarPlay, since we only have Android phones, but Android Auto would connect within seconds. It was really quick and seemless, Brian Buehler. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Happy to hear that was a rarity with our review car, shurnel David. And we agree, tech like Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto) are very nice features to have. Enjoy your car!
Yeah. We're hoping that was an issue exclusive to this particular car. It's hard to imagine every car does this, but it was noticeable enough to mention it, XMattingly. Thanks for watching!
It did on our particular tester, IndiaJ0nes. Not sure if they all do that, but we'd take it to the dealer to have it remedied if it were our car. Definitely listen for that squeak during a test drive if you're considering this car. It won't be hard to hear if it does it. If it's quiet, you're all good! Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Happy to hear that, cobra 1978. It's a great car and our tester may have been a bit more preproduction or it may have lived a harder life from the auto journalists before us. Either way, enjoy your car and thanks for watching!
You can turn the function on and off in the settings, Mikayla Broadnax. Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly which section it's in (possibly a vehicle or comfort/convenience section?), but if you go through them, you'll find it. Toggle it to on and then it will be activated after you turn off the car and lock your doors. They must be locked for 20 or 30 seconds and you must be away from your car. After that timeframe, when you walk within range of your trunk, the car will start beeping to let you know it's about to open the trunk. Within a few seconds it will open hands-free. If you do not want it to open, just walk away from the trunk area when you hear it start to beep. And if you find that you don't use the feature that often, you can go back into your settings and disable it again. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Ok, who tf goes around pulling at the interior to see if it sqeeks. I honestly didn't get much info in this review as I should have, being 8min 30sec. I bought a 2021 Kia K5 LXS, its by far the most amazing car I've owned yet. And...... NO, there's no sqeeks inside. I don't see many on the road yet, but I have a feeling this will be 2022's summer seller.....
If you paid attention to the entire video, Baby Bri, you'd hear that the squeaking happened in this car while just driving. That's how we found out about it. Chris only manipulated it with his hand to demonstrate the sound while he was talking about it. We're happy to hear that actual owners haven't experienced this with their cars, but we felt it would be something potential buyers would want to look out for before purchasing, even if that's the only thing they learned from the review. Enjoy your car.
