►►Our Vision◄◄
Founded In Truth exists to build a community that bears the image of God and lives the redeemed life Yeshua gives.
⬤⬤⬤The Three Pillars of our Community⬤⬤⬤
►►Yeshua◄◄
We are a community formed by the teachings, life, death, and resurrection of a rabbi from Nazareth named Yeshua (Jesus). It is through His spirit by which we find our common bond. Through the paradox of His death on the cross, we find the way to God’s love, the truth of all He is, and the life that only He can provide - one that is eternal. The gospel of Yeshua is the foundation for our community locally and beyond.
►►Family◄◄
If there is one thing we celebrate at Founded in Truth, it is family. Whether your household is small or large, local or far away, you are invited to take your place here with us. We thrive together to build up an atmosphere that shows forth God’s love in a very real way not just to be a fellowship but also to teach the children in the community what being an image bearer is all about.
►►Fellowship◄◄
We value each other. In the Beginning, God said it was not good for man to be alone. We were meant for fellowship, and we believe when we come together, we celebrate God’s goodness, promises, and grace. We know God has called our lives to intersect, so what better way to fulfill the command of scripture to love one another?

1:33 - There are 40+ examples of polygynous families in the scripture and only a few have any "issues" that could even remotely be pointed at the practice. But they aren't "painting polygyny in a negative light" they are painting SIN in a negative light any more than Cain killing Abel is the scripture painting having more than 1 child in a negative light. This is a fallacy used by folks who know they have no other way to make this case.

In the Exodus chapter 20:14, (being one of the 10 commandments), it states: "You shall not commit adultery." In the very next chapter - Exodus 21:10, God is giving instruction on the rules of conduct regarding how the husband was to treat any additional, wife(s) that he may marry. And, as someone already commented in response to this video, God, when speaking through the prophet Nathan, to David, He (God), had already given to David, Saul's four wives, prior to David committing adultery with Bathsheba. This was in keeping with God's rules, consistent in both the Old and New testaments, because Saul, being deceased, his widowed wives were freed from the law of marriage (Romans 7:1-3) and were therefore eligible to remarry. The reason God considered it to be adultery, in the case when David got sexually involved Bathsheba, is that Bathsheba's husband was still alive.

Moses, the ONE WHO WROTE THE LAWS (inspired by the Holy Spirit) regarding adultery had more than one wife! It is absolutely absurd to think that God would allow Moses to be so hypocritical as to blatantly violate one of the most sacred of all Commandments regarding marriage without consequence. Well, maybe God was just going easy on Moses (?) Really! God refused to allow Moses into the Promised Land merely for striking a rock with his staff; but He allowed him to go completely unpunished for a crime (adultery) that demanded the death penalty?!? So ridiculous! The Church has such an UNBELIEVABLE blind spot regarding this issue. God certainly did ordain some significant changes regarding the practice of the faith under the New Covenant (animal sacrifices, dietary laws, the observance of Holy Days, circumcision, etc); but ONLY clearly and unambiguously! There is ABSOLUTELY NO PLACE in the New Testament where polygyny now suddenly becomes a violation of the Law. The only passage that Mandatory Monogamists can scrounge up is in Mattew 19, and it has absolutely nothing to do with polygyny! It is about divorce ONLY! How and why would God be so completely and utterly silent regarding such a radical alteration of the basic understanding of marriage - if that was His intention under the New Covenant? So how did this happen? The early Church chose to adopt the family and social structures of the pagan Romans and Greeks (i.e, forced monogamy), rather than following God's model as clearly outlined in the Scriptures.

The short answer is yes, it's an acceptable way to have a family according to the Bible. Polygyny is regulated (laws on how to treat each wife fairly), endorsed (Biblical patriarchs were polygynous) and even commanded (Levirate marriage). If you have any doubts, just read Jesus' "10 virgins" parable about 10 virgins coming to the bridegroom. Mind you there were no bridesmaids in Jewish culture.

The virgins are symbolic of all of us in the body(singular) of Yahushua HaMashiyach, and our need to be ready or be left without the groom. What a pathetic attempt to excuse polygyny.

I believe that Leviticus 18:18 is referring to a biological sister because the previous verse was specifically speaking about relatives. Leviticus 18:18 starts with the word "Neither (KJV)" which is furthering what was said in Leviticus 18:17. Therefore I don't believe we can confidently claim that this is Torah commandment against Polygamy (in general).

I like the video overall, but ONE glaring issue I take with it is Leviticus 18:18. This verse is NOT saying what HE is saying. The CONTEXT shows that entire chapter is dealing with INCEST not polygyny. Also Deuteronomy 25:5-10 appears to command polygyny in some circumstances (already married). Also see 2 Samuel 12:8 in its CONTEXT. If he is looking to answer the question, it would be misleading to use Leviticus 18 as part of your argument.

You are not far from the truth. The fact is, there are many cases of polygamy, where nothing bad happened, and there are many instances of monogamy, where very bad things happened. The bottom line is, God never did forbid polygyny, at any point in time. The more you look into this, the more you will find that this anti-polygyny heresy, was actually introduced by the Catholic church, and has brought about great evil in our society. It fosters jealousy, ruins marriages, and has led to murder and abortion, repeatedly occurring, where it otherwise would likely not have occurred.

1 Corinthians 7:2 states that each man should have his own WIFE (not wives). Genesis 2:24 states that man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his WIFE (not wives). Genesis 2:18 God states “...I will make him A HELPER (not helpers). In fact everywhere God gives a principle for what marriage should look like, WIFE is used in the singular, never the plural. So although it doesn't explicitly say it, we know what God's vision of marriage looks like and it's not polygamous.

@@4u2cre8 1 Cor 7:2... his OWN wife emphasizes a matter of possession to me- that a man should not have another man's wife. Gen 2:24 does not place a prohibition to wives. Gen 2:18 is referring to the creation of woman. Nevertheless, believe what you will, my friend.
@4u2cre8
@4u2cre8 Год назад
@@reachingoutforjesus3167 How you choose to define the word "own" in Cor 7:2 has nothing to do with the fact that WIFE is still used in the singular. Genesis 2:24 says WIFE (singular). Gen.2:18 is referring to the creation of A HELPER (again, singlar). Ephesians 5:31 says the TWO shall become one flesh (not 3 or 4). Why didn't God create more than one wife for Adam? Why is their no "happy" families in scripture that participate in polygamy? They were always messed up and dysfunctional. Because of Abraham's extra wives/concubines we have the descendants of Ishmael killing christians and jews. Even Solomon in Song of Solomon is not reminiscing about his multiple wives but his first wife. (It went down hill for him when he started getting more wives). David's polygamist family was also dysfunctional and sick with incest and rape. Why within the requirements of a GODLY man and elder of the church (according to the NT)is he supposed to be the "husband of one wife." If polygamy is blessed why does it say in 1 Corinthians 7 [Greek/Aramic] : But since there is so much immorality, each man should have his one wife, and each woman her one husband." The account of creation itself shows us God's perfect plan for marriage. Genesis 2:24 "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become ONE flesh." Not WIVES. Genesis 2:18 "Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a HELPER [singular] fit for him." In fact, the first man to have a second wife in the OT was Lamech, a son of Cain-- who according to the scriptures also committed the first murder. Much was "allowed" NOT CONDONED because of man's hardened heart and because they didn't know better. Matt. 19:8 " He said to them, “BECAUSE OF YOUR HARDNESS OF HEART Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, BUT FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO." When you know better, you do better. You don't continue in it because God didn't zap them in the OT. Paul addresses this when he says:"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? NO..." Romans 6: 1-2 And so, if God's ORIGINAL intention was one man and one wife, why should we actively seek something that was not His perfect intention? Luke 16:15 ,"And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For WHAT IS EXALTED AMONG MEN IS AN ABOMINATION in the sight of God." I believe that God tolerated polygamy, but never condoned it. Deuteronomy 17:17 forbids kings from marrying more than one wife, so it doesn’t make sense that God would give that clear prohibition and then condone it. David seems to be the one many point to as end all be all of polygamy. But the text even says he provided for them (concubines: considered to be "extra wives") but had no sexual relations with them. And according to Jewish tradition, David would take a wife, but once he had his eye on another, he would continue providing for her but stop having sexual relations with her once he took a new wife. The modern day equivalent would be divorce/alimony/ new marriage. The Bible is so honest about humanity and the failures of even those God used mightily, it dutifully records the problems those multiplied wives created. In every biblical account of men having multiple wives, there is conflict. Families not based on a monogamous relationship paid a price. The Bible shows the result of having multiple wives, and it never presents polygamy in a positive light.

WHATEVER WAS SIN IN THE OLD TESTAMENT IS STILL SIN IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, WHATEVER WAS NOT SIN IN THE OLD TESTAMENT IS NOT SIN IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. So Polygyny was NOT sin in the OT, so it is NOT sin in the NT either. Show me in the Scriptures that Condemns Polygyny as Sin. As far as the Scripture is concerned: * Polygyny is not a Sin * Polygyny is not Condemned * Polygyny is Allowed * Polygyny is part of God's plan to fill the earth * God is the author of Polygyny, and remember, "God never Sins" if it was a sin, Then God would state that in the Ten Commandment, because Polygyny began prior to Ten Commandment. * There are more Scriptures supporting Polygyny than going against it.

1. God presents himself as having two wives in Ezekiel 23 - Would God model evil? This alone should settle the question? 2. God directly bestowed 2 wives on young king Joash via the High Priest Jehoiada (II Chr 24:3). 3. In rebuking David’s adultery, God said he gave him Saul’s wives & would have given more had he asked. God did not condemn the multiple wives, but the adultery & murder (II Sam. 12:8). 4. The prophet Samuel was born to Hannah, one of the two wives of Elkanah (I Sam. 1). 5. At least 4 authors of the Spirit-inspired Bible had two or more wives. 6. Polygyny is assumed but regulated & the wives are protected under Mosaic law (Ex 21:10) and elsewhere. 7. Plural wives, Rachel & Leah, are praised for “building the house of Israel” (Ruth 4:11). 8. Deborah sings with approval of “a maiden, two maidens for every warrior…..” (Judges 5:30). 9. Miriam was rebuked for condemning Moses 2nd marriage to the Cushite (Ethiopian) woman. God defended Moses as being “faithful in all my household” (Num 12:7). Moses faithfulness to his family of plural wives is carried over to the New Testament (Heb. 3:1,2) as a type of Christ’s faithfulness to the individuals in His church. We are warned in 3:7-12 not to harden our hearts against these things, like Miriam. 10. It is recorded that “God gave heed to Leah” and she received her “wages” from God in the form of another pregnancy “because I gave my maid to my husband” (Gen. 30: 15-24). This is far more than God just “tolerating polygyny.” He’s an active and willing participant. 11. Regarding the kingsman-Redeemer God commands polygyny in most cases and took onan's life for disobedience. What is this the only exception? 12. In Isaiah 3 & 4 polygyny is revealed to be the human dimension for rehabilitating and protecting the women of Israel when most of the men were killed in battle (4:1). The Divine dimension is mentioned in the very next verse (4:1) referring to the Messiah as the Branch

Now we both know that's not true. (Yes,I know this is a rebuke by God through Nathan.) Yes I see all the folks out there waving their hands and howling for my head. Well God doesn't endorse polygamy, you cry. David was a sinner. 1 Kings 15:5 negates that argument. The only thing David did wrong in the eyes of God? Uriah the Hittite. As for the New Testament. We can all agree that Jesus was sinless. If polygamy was a sin. Why would a sinless man use a sin to make a point in the doctrine of His church? He wouldn't. There is nothing in the Scriptures that says polygamy is a sin. Husband of one wife is for church leaders.

Exactly. I don't understand what all the arguing is about when women are the ones who hold ALL the power. Men discuss this topic like the women have no power. Are these men in the middle east somewhere? They can't be in the very liberal United States where a woman will promptly curse you out for even looking at another woman inappropriately. If all men came to a consensus that having multiple women is Biblical are they really that dumb to think women are going to allow it because men agree that it's Biblical? If I met a man who said he wanted to practice polygamy I would tell him to kiss my ass walk away. And if my husband said he wanted to practice polygamy I would tell him to kiss my ass too and then file for divorce immediately. Yes, I would leave my man for even bringing up the topic because if you've thought about it you've already disrespected me. Men using religion as a scare tactic will never work on women. Think about it, men quote the Bible to try and get women to submit to them and that doesn't work either. Women simply do not listen to men and rightfully so.

Only a special woman, would be OK with understanding her husband's needs and desires. Most women today are not OK with it, but they fail to realize, it is to their own detriment. Oh, and Scripture clearly forbids a wife having more than one husband. You can divorce your husband, if you choose to do so, but if you run off and marry some other dude, Scripture says that you will be committing adultery. Notice that whenever Jesus used that "except for fornication" clause, it was always in the context of the husband divorcing his wife, not the wife divorcing her husband, and He went on to say that the husband who does so, causes HER to commit adultery, and whoever marries HER that is divorced, commits adultery with HER. Nowhere does Scripture state that the woman who marries a man who has been divorced, commits adultery with him. It doesn't even say that a woman should not covet another woman's husband!

If the 2 sisters prohibited polygamy completely the other passages regulating the practice creates a contradiction. It would be like a passage banning murder and another regulating it. Disappointed in this teaching. The Torah is incredibly clear on polygamy - specifically polygyny. When Yah tells Hagar to go back and Yah expressly says that He gives David multiple wives in 2 Samuel - He is either: 1. Being righteous and true to His Word Or 2. Conflicting with His own Word and actively participating in sin Pretty simple choice from that perspective. David is trying *so hard* to appease the modern sensibilities of Babylon that he can't see he is warping the Scripture to seem less "misogynist".

I dont believe in polygymy, but I just realised that: IF polygymy is totally out in the NT we have a problem with Matt. 19:9 and Matt. 3:32. Because although they seem to allow for divorce AND remarriage of the INNOCENT party if there was undisclosed fornication hidden by the guilty party until after the marriage ceremony. The “put away guilty person” is not free to remarry or they will be commiting “adultery”(Matt. 5:32), in other words they are still bound in marriage to the innocent party. Thus we have the allowance of a form of polygymy or polygyny, where a man or a woman has 2 people bound to them, one they live with, and one they don't live with, but the guilty person is still bound to them for life through marriage.

This man is clearly wrong. Our holy, righteous, and absolutely pure God metaphorically portrays Himself *as a polygamous husband* in Scripture (Jer. 3:6-14; Ez. 23:1-49) - “My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband *to them,* says the LORD” (Jer. 31:32). Is God portraying Himself as an adulterous sinner in blatant disobedience to His own moral law in these passages? Of course not. The only people guilty of adultery in these passages *are His two wives,* Israel and Judah. Clearly, God portrays Himself as a polygamous husband because He considers polygamy to be a *lawful* and *righteous* form of marriage. To argue otherwise would be to blaspheme God and slander His word. These passages alone ought to be enough to refute the false monogamy only doctrine. Nevertheless, even in the New Testament, where the church is metaphorically portrayed as the singular “bride” of Christ, *each individual believer* is said to be “betrothed” to Christ (2 Cor. 11:2) and joined to Him in a “one spirit” union analogous to the “one flesh” sexual union between a man and a woman (1 Cor. 6:16-17). I’m hardly the first person to notice this. “To preserve the Corinthians from being corrupted by the insinuations of the false apostles, v. 2, 3. He tells them he was jealous over them with godly jealousy; he was afraid lest their faith should be weakened by hearkening to such suggestions as tended to lessen their regard to his ministry, by which they were brought to the Christian faith. He had espoused *them* to one husband, that is, converted them to Christianity ( *and the conversion of a soul is its marriage to the Lord Jesus* ); and he was desirous to present *them* as a chaste virgin-pure, and spotless, and faithful, not having their minds corrupted with false doctrines by false teachers, as Eve was beguiled by the subtlety of the serpent.” (Matthew Henry’s Commentary, 2 Cor. 11:2) “For I have espoused you to one husband; by whom is meant Christ, as the following clause explains it: Christ stands in the relation of an husband to the church catholic and universal; *to the whole general assembly and church of the firstborn,* whose names are written in heaven; *even to all the elect of God,* that ever were, are, or shall be; *and so he does to particular congregated churches,* as he did to this church at Corinth, *and so he does to every individual believer”* (John Gill’s Exposition, 2 Cor. 11:2) Thus, God metaphorically portrays Himself *as a polygamous husband* in the Old Testament, and Christ is metaphorically portrayed *as betrothed to multiple believers in the New Testament,* both of which clearly affirm polygamy as a lawful and righteous form of marriage.

It makes zero sense that Paul, apostle to the gentiles, would be regulating for the Church what Roman law ALREADY REQUIRED (1 wife only). But it makes a lot of sense to tell those men, who likely were married and sleeping around on the side, that they could not do that any longer to be a church leader. One point I don't hear discussed is love. There are a lot of men commenting on this subject in the "pro" position, but are they looking at the situation from a woman's perspective? Marriage is a commitment to care for the woman for the rest of her life. Few men are in a position to financially care for more than one wife. Plus, what if your first wife doesn't want another woman in the mix? Women are structured to want their own turf. We love our fellow women, but we don't share our "tent" well with others. Is the man able to provide separate dwellings for each of them? Also, why would divorce even be a topic in Moses' day if the man could just add another wife? In today's vows, a man says he will keep himself only unto her until death. Don't make that vow if you aren't willing to keep it. We must first realize that we have a sinful nature and then ask why one wife isn't enough. All the examples of life we see in Scripture just show why we desperately need a Savior.

Modern women's inability or lack of desire to understand scripture on this issue, and biblical family structures that are both allowed, encouraged, and necessary in some contexts, doesn't change the fact that we need to teach the truth. Do you have the same level of concern for all the women who are and will be left alone, childless and without cover for their entire lives? Is "not wanting to share" with a good faithful sister a righteous virtue or is it a sinful heart issue? It's easy to look at this issue from only the "well what if the wife doesn't want it" perspective, but shouldn't we be more concerned with the multitude of women who are being left uncovered, than the ones who are comfortable in their covered state? Where does encouraging selfishness show up in the scripture? The notion of women exclusively owning their husband is not biblical, it's cultural. The wife exclusively belongs to her husband, but not the husband to the wife(s), this is how God set it up, for very good reasons, and we need to be far more respectful of that and seek understanding as to why, rather than doing what we've been doing.

3:22 - Jesus was speaking on divorce, specifically "sent away" women who were improperly sent away/divorced (either no writ, or just not for valid divorce reasons). Jesus was telling these men that all this improper sending away and improper divorce has led to a lot of adultery, why? because unless divorced properly for the right reasons, the woman is still married both legally and in God's eyes. The man is forcing her into adultery, and the sin is on him in that case. This has zero to do with polygyny, if it did, David would have been guilty of adultery well before Bathsheba. Come on man, you wrote a book on this?

@mrmonay
@mrmonay 7 месяцев назад
No it's not, marrying another woman in it of itself is never adultery. It's not what Jesus was saying. Jesus was teaching the Torah, so there is but one reason for divorce, the woman's sexual immorality. If you divorce your first wife *so that you can* marry another, it's adultery against the first. It has nothing to do with the second marriage. "I want a new wife" is not a valid reason to divorce and put away the first. A man is ALWAYS available to marry another and it has never been adultery, and it never will be adultery to do so, as long as she is single. It doesn't matter if he has 1 wife or 10. The man has both forced his first wife into adultery (because she is still married to him if being divorced without proper cause) and he's committed a form of adultery by breaking his covenant with her unlawfully. If a man has a wife who commits sexual immorality and he divorces her, and then marries another, do you believe he's committing adultery? "But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband 11(but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband should not divorce his wife." 1 Cor 7:11 Clearly a married woman is commanded by the Lord to not leave her husband, but if she does, to stay unmarried (without a man) or be reconciled. Notice the man / husband is never given the same command. The husband who has a wife who leaves is always free to marry, if his first wife returns, he has two wives. Marriage, and divorce law/commands/rules in scripture are NOT equal to the man and the woman, there absolutely are more than one double standard for men and women. @@cbtam4333

Furthermore, you accuse God of participating in adultery by your interpretation, He gave David many wives, if it's adultery to have more than 1, God then would be making David commit adultery, then rebuking Him for adultery later. It makes no sense whatsoever. David had 17 wives, God only took issue and rebuked him for adultery when he took another man's wife, which IS adultery. Taking a 2nd, 3rd, or 17th wife as long as they are single is never adultery. @@cbtam4333

@@mrmonay Divorcing “so that you can marry another” are words that have been added by you. Those words are not in the text. A man who divorced his wife because she burnt the toast rather than so that he could marry another nonetheless remains married to her in God’s eyes, and a subsequent marriage a few of years later would not be any less adultery against his first wife. True, wanting to marry another woman is not a valid reason to divorce the first wife. But if polygamy were acceptable to God, Jesus would not call a subsequent marriage adultery against the first wife. It would not be adultery because the man would be free to add a second wife at any time, whether he was divorced validly, divorced invalidly, or never sought a divorce at all. An invalid divorce would have no impact on his ability to take another wife, and certainly wouldn’t be called adultery against the first wife. It would only affect his moral duties toward the first wife. Maybe he would be morally obligated to pay her money, maybe to take her back. But rather than his marriage to his second wife being called adultery, it would just mean he had two wives now. But Jesus said this man commits adultery. No exception for polygyny. Re: 1 Cor. 7:11, a woman should not leave her husband and must remain unmarried or reconcile and a man must not divorce his wife, because divorce is presumed invalid in God’s eyes. But according to Jesus in Matthew 19:9 and Mark 10:11, as he is still married to her in God’s eyes, he commits adultery when he marries another.

A complex topic bc 21st century people are trying to fully comprehend ancient words and practices. If you want to know the answer, and you are pursuing a predisposition to permit polygyny, ask yourself - why do I want this to be OK? Is it for sexual interests? I submit, the vast majority of men want this practice to be ok so they can have sex with multiple women, which is always results in disaster. You might say, well, it wasn’t a disaster for Jacob who had children with two wives and two maidservants. But read the story again, there was all kinds of problems and pain in their lives bc of this. The difference is God took man’s transgressions and turned it into something that would serve His purpose in the long run bc He knew/knows the predisposition of sinful men and women.

Nowhere in bible scripture will you find where polygeny is condemned. The confusion over this subject matter arrises from ignorance of God's word and about his definition of what constitutes adultery. Bible scripture is consistent in both Old Testament and New Testaments on the definition of adultery (which is not consistent with definitions found in modern, secular, dictionaries). In both the old and new testaments adultery, involves a married woman, exclusively! Without there being a married woman there is no adultery. A man, married or unmarried, having sexual relations with an unmarried woman is considered fornication, but not adultery. Throughout scripture there has to be a married woman involved, for there to be the occurrence of adultery. A woman is considered to be married until her husband dies. No where in scripture does it even suggest that divorce frees a woman from the law a marriage (as referenced in The New Testament). The effects of feminism has shaped the false narrative on the issues of polygeny and what constitutes adultery.

You have stated marriage should only be monogamous but in the scripture we can see that God acknowledges polygamous marriages! Surely God cannot be the author of confusion. It's either acceptable or not acceptable. Below are some of the scriptures when God almighty clearly intervenes in a polygamous marriage. Genesis 16 1-11

4:10 - Lev 18:18 - ‘You shall not marry a woman in addition to her sister as a rival while she is alive, to uncover her nakedness." If this was meant to prohibit a man from marrying more than 1 woman (claiming "sister" means any other woman) than there is no need to add in verbiage regarding intent, which is the "as a rival" bit. Intent wouldn't matter, it would simply be worded as "‘You shall not marry a woman in addition to her sister." Period, full stop. God is not here to confuse us with His law. This is clearly (and you're in the extreme minority here on your take) about biological sisters and marrying your wife's biological sister, if it would cause problems, because there are very real consequences of marrying 2 sisters vs marrying 2 non sisters. If you need to divorce one or one leaves you, think about the family dynamic issues you'll deal with with 2 sisters, vs 2 non sisters. It's immediately clear why this law was written. You are trying to make it something it isn't for the sake of your agenda.

@@adzbeatz5106 Hahaha. You see him on every video about this topic? That means you follow all of those videos. Why do you seem to imply that Daniel's dedication to refuting the anti-polygyny lie as less virtuous than your watching and swallowing the lie? What makes you judge Daniel as being obsessed with having multiple wives? Can it not be that he is simply driven to confront lies? If polygyny is not sinful (and it isn't), why is wanting to participate in it "only about fleshly desire?" Would you say the same thing to a single man wanting to marry? "Why are you obsessed with having a wife? Like is that your achievement, a fleshly desire?" If some idiot were trying to make a Biblical case against all marriage, wouldn't you possibly be passionate about denouncing the lie? Would that mean you were obsessed or fleshly? The fact is, the real argument going on is not monogamy vs. polygyny; it's "monogamy only" vs. Biblical marriage. Biblical marriage encompasses either monogamy or polygyny. And no, it's not "three or more become one flesh," it's "the two become one flesh" and a man may be one flesh with more than one woman. The weak, carnal mind has to make marital sex dirty when Yah calls it good. David Wilber, the bogus teacher in the video, accuses me of having a polygyny fetish. When a man marries, we hope he marries for all of the right reasons ... but we don't grill him to make sure and we don't say, "Hopefully, you're not marrying for fleshly reasons." When a man marries, he also assumes some responsibilities, some of which are not easy or always pleasant; nevertheless, he can't escape the responsibilities. A man who is already married is more aware of this than single men are. How do you imagine that a man who is already married can possibly be thinking, "If I get more wives that will mean less responsibility and I won't have to do anything but have sex." You seem to have an obsession with making sure that men don't have sex and with ensuring that it decreases over time. Doesn't that seem a little strange? It's not all about sex. Grow up.

@craighunter9082
@craighunter9082 2 года назад
@Maya Alan Adam and Chava's monogamy was of necessity. Chava was taken out of Adam and she became the mother of all the living. The fall of our parents did not catch Yehovah by surprise. His plan was to have one family in the earth and there was no other woman for Adam. In sound logic, a narrative (the story of the marriage of Adam and Chava) does not establish a command. If you are going to make a logical blunder like this, you have to be consistent. Yehovah took Chava from Adam's side, therefore no one should marry until Yehovah puts a man into a deep sleep, takes a woman out of him, and brings her to him as a wife. Genesis 2:24 defines marriage; it doesn't establish a monogamy-only command. Let's try having a conversation instead of you posturing as the Righteous Judge who will determine my inheritance. I have to warn you that you are at a disadvantage if you want to actually debate logically; I have already been where you are, steeped in the unholy roman catholic monogamy-only lie. It has been diligently taught all the way down to the roman church's protestant daughters. To be honest, when I saw the truth and righteousness of polygyny and all of the problems that practicing that righteousness could solve, I thought I was crazy. However, in trying to prove to myself that polygyny was sinful, I became more convinced that the so-called church has inherited and perpetuated lies. Shalom.

@Maya Alan You're right about one thing only: Monogamy is Biblical. However, MONOGAMY ONLY is not Biblical. Uriah was monogamous (whether he aspired to only be monogamous, we don't know). David was polygynous. 1 Kings 15:5 says: "For David had done what was right in the eyes of Yehovah and had not turned aside from anything Yehovah commanded all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite." That is a testimony against David's adultery, not his polygyny. Doesn't it bother you that your view is different than what the Bible states? Why doesn't 1 Kings 15:5 cry out that David also violated Leviticus 18:18? I guess King David's ancient Hebrew wasn't as good as David Wilber's. Hahaha.

Your interpretation of Lev 18:18 is twisting Scripture. It is based on Tosato's untrue assertions about the Essenes. Tosato was a Roman Catholic priest. That is your scholar! All the other scholars cite him when they try to argue this point. The Qumran community NEVER believed this about Lev 18:18. That is a lie put forward by Tosato. The Septuagint left this Scripture is it is written in Hebrew, to mean what it says, that they are sisters. Dr Luck has pointed out that the only time that phrase is not referring to literal sisters, it is referring to cherubs and curtains. Every time the word "sister" is used in the Levitical code, it refers to actual sisters. When used in the masculine sense, it usually refers to actual brothers, so that doesn't help your case. Oh sure! Just buy your book, and you will show us the Exegetical reasons! No thanks!

They must not be living righteously! This is an absurd argument you make! In fact, one woman, means just that! The man cannot remarry even if his wife leaves him or dies! If not following that example, is somehow wrong, then no man can ever remarry. Hebrews 3 uses this as a type or example of how Jesus is "faithful in All God's House" meaning His care for all the individuals in His body/bride. It illustrates how Jesus as the bridegroom loves us all, but we as members of his bride love Him alone. Hebrews 3 exhorts us not to harden our hearts against this like those in the wilderness, in this case Miriam.

Polygamy is so bad in general and bad for your health and much worse than monogamy. Because: Sure you GIVE good: Love for all, freedom, no jealousy (umm right), no clingyness, stuff like that. But you also GIVE terrible: not ever giving full attention to anyone, making no one feel special, making a lover wait around while your in another location with another lover, etc etc. And that's just not good enough. Not loving / caring enough. Even if your lovers say it's fine its not fine, and you should actually want to give "best" to someone you love and not ever hurt them in any way even in a small way, not half good treatment, so. (Basically you're a worse lover than what a monogamist lover who willingly provides great treatment.) How can you do that to your lover? It's bordering cruelty. Just No. Polygamists love to brag alot how they think they're superior blah blah.. But. Really, Monogamy is the good treatment a lover deserves to receive from a caring loving lover... Monogamy is just amazing and caring and healthy and the truly noble unselfish relationship style. Because love isn't just love it's "treatment" too. Polygamists say they're unselfish cause they share etc, BUT no, choosing many lovers for yourself and giving all of them just part time care and attention etc, that's not noble at all. It's the most selfish. It's like choosing many slices of delicious nice cakes and not finishing any / choosing many cute lovely nice little kittens and neglecting all of them. No no no. Selfless? No. How dare you be so selfish, uncaring, and horney. That's sadistic narcissism hurtful selfishness. You are the worse ones, you really are. Even if you can love many, which is easy and fun tbh, not some rare talent, decide to pick one to settle down with, so you can give all of you, (including TIME etc which is impossible for polygamists) to your chosen lover. Cause you want to cause you're in love and therefor you care deeply. Also never make her suppress / feel any sort of bad emotions like jealousy, left out, loneliness (It's natural tbh), forced to suppress competitive feelings, forced to smile through the bad side of polygamy and be a good unbothered unhurt polygamist. Ew. Monogamy treatment is the most caring kind amazing unselfish noble thing to do in the end.

@@leyahquinnzellyisrael3643 Well according to Ezekiel 23 the God of the Bible had or has two wives. So which God is your husband getting his prophecy from?

Polygamy happens when you already have a wife and decide to take another. Its is basically a sin since you will commit adultery breaking one of the commandment before declaring the second one a wife.

Hmm that makes sense. But why allow moses and the gang to do it?
@wellbeingwithwinnie7500

from the very beginning it was Gods idea or wish for a man to have one woman as his helper and for companionship. Gen2:18,2:21 note: He made him a helper not helpers and took only one of his ribs to form one woman not women. so one rib from a man for one woman. Gen2:24 thus man will leave his father and mother join with his wife and they will be one flesh. note again not man to women . i would say that God did not allow polygamous marriages in the past, He just tolerated them since there was not a man enough to overcome all those weaknesses in the old testament but when Jesus Christ came he overcame all without sin Hebrews 4:14,15 he came and conquered all temptations and when he departed from the face of the world he knew we would face challenges and he sent a helper holy spirit to help us overcome temptations such as adultery and sexual immorality in so in new testament , after Jesus, does not give any excuse to practice polygamy cause its a sin 1 corinthians 7:1-5 'let each man have his own wife and vise versa'. it doesnt show us about husbands for many women and vise versa.@@HostileLemons

do your own research as well and you will see that those who have fallen for polygamous marriages face consequences and more troubles which extends to their children hence they are more likely to fight over properties ,attention from the man of the house ,killings and many other more as a result of that one step of sin. and why would a husband want more than one woman if it is not for his own selfish needs without caring about his wife and his children feelings about the matter. the bible teaches us to be patient, loving and caring. 1corinthians 13:4-8

@@wellbeingwithwinnie7500 very true polygamy is adultery, when paul was addressing adultery he was also talking of polygamy and that's why it's written you shall not commit adultery neither convert your neighbours goods, just because it wasn't condemned doesn't mean it was according to God's will just like peter said in acts we should obey God and not men

David wilber is clearly a homosexual. God is not a misogynist but He is a polygamist. Jeremiah chapter 3 God Himself is married to 2 wives.. the house of israel and the house of judah.
