If im being completely honest, I'm super impressed that even with all the change Chevy has made to their Corvette they still keep that classic look alive, everyone knows a Corvette from 30 years ago till now, not many others can say that, even ford's mustang has changed so much from the 90s to today

Kudos to both you (older) guys like me! You doggedly pursued the opinions of those 3 engineering students from college. THEY stated that the perception or attitude that the Corvette being an 'old man's car' - is now dead. Do you have any idea how huge that is to the brand or how difficult that is to establish for an existing marque? Fantastic video guys!

I bought my first corvette c7 z06 at 22. The c7 gen is when it started changing the market on who buys them. I’m 28 now, with a c8, got both the e ray and the z06 on order. The new Corvettes have changed the game. Only wish they still offered a manual.

The simple reality is that for 95% of buyers the base car without Z51 is by far the best choice and real world prices add a $100,000 difference, you're spending a lot for additional capabilities few have the driving skills to use. Unless you're a car fan most people wouldn't know the difference between a Stingray and a Z06.

As with everything in life, there is always a sweet spot in the biggest bang for the buck! As an owner of a 2021 C8 HTC non Z51 with 19k on it, I have loved it! To spend $40,000 + to gain a few tenths of a second in acceleration and bragging rights for a Z06 or E-Ray is not worth it to 90% of buyers in my eyes. AWD would be great, but not for the cost, and how often would you really take your $100,000 + car out in the snow?

Personally, I would never and have never owned a base model corvette. The base model is pedestrian compared to the higher performance models.

The special edition 70th anniversary C8 will always hold its value and most likely continue to increase in value as well. I just purchased this special edition 70th anniversary package in a HTC configruation fully loaded "Carbon Black". Looking forward to posting some reviews on this beauty!

Roman I disagree with you, about the E ray depreciating the hardest. Look at the grand sport for the C7 generation, since it’s the sweet spot for the Vette, the value is holding as strong as the c7 z06. The E ray is the sweet spot for the c8 generation. Only reason why the Nsx took a shit is because they started at $180k when it should of been a $85k tops type of car.

@@TFLnow Most of us won’t bother to keep the Vette over 5 years. People change their cars like they change their iPhones these days, we just like the idea of it being some what affordable, and practical other wise I’d be driving a mclaren 765lt, but i think it’s the best bang for the buck, sure it’s not as fast as the Tesla plaid but it has the looks, has the luxury side, and glad it’s not a plug in! The nsx interior felt like they were still stuck in 2008 and had the performance of a gtr at half the price. This is the opposite, still the best bang for the buck and has nicer interior than most supercars on the road today.

If GM really pushes EV for the next generation. Then there is a strong chance the E ray will never depreciate below 6 figures. People will just pay for the extended warranty to keep it running.

This is Michael. On the one hand, the eRay is overpriced, which would indicate faster depreciation. On the other hand, it is the best Corvette out there and would immediately outsell every other rendition If it were not for the high price. Then when you compare what you get to what's available on the foreign market, you realize you got a good deal. It will definitely depreciate the least.

@@kpv123 I agree! Plus cars are getting so expensive! Challengers chargers, the new mustang they are all creeping up the 6 figure price tag. Everything is way too expensive these days. So compared to other vehicles these days, it’s a bargain lol but at the same time it’s a hard pill to swallow that this is considered affordable ✌🏼✌🏼these days. I never thought I’d pay 6 figures for a pick up truck. Ford f350 platinum/limit 6 figures lol I remember when you could buy those trucks for 40k new and 60k for the top of the line

It is becoming common to get at MSRP. Still none available immediately on showroom for MSRP. My dealership sells $500 under with a 6-9 month wait time.

I had to sign in at work to get my 2 cents in on this video....the C8 Z06 is not supercharged! Also, the Cacti Green is sickkkkk!!! I don't know if anyone else noticed it but dude with the sweater slipped up and said the E-Ray had 2 Electric motors. Now either I don't know what I'm talking about or this guy knows something we don't!

There's hope and I'm kinda holding my breath for the Grand Sport actually. You know the next gen V8's are coming from GM and I wouldn't be surprised if the Grand Sport gets that first. We'll see what GM has up their sleeves.

Actually, the word would be no. They can't make any of these fast enough not to C8, not the Z 06, not the Eray. Besides, the Eray is both the quickest and the Grand Sport model already. What else are you looking for? It has Magneto ride, and it's heavy.

This is. Michael. The entire vet = old man's car is misunderstood and misinformed. All ages like the car. The problem is that until you have your mortgage and other loans paid off, your kids grown and gone, and your insurance rates drop, most people who want it can't afford it. It's that simple. The C8 only makes this all the more apparent. I've had mine for 3 years and people of all ages compliment the car. I even had a four-year-old stop and stare at the car at the mall last week! He just innately understood Beauty when he saw it. There's an 80 year old lady in one of my church classes who says it's the best looking car she's ever seen in her life. How's that for contrast?!

I think design wise, this generation of Corvette really benefits from the wide body. You don't notice it on the Z07 equipped Z06 because of the aero. Other than that I'm still a little cold to this generation, I still prefer the C7

That thing is scary fast. It looks Italian. And the only thing missing that would make it complete are Lamborghini scissor doors. I hope Chevrolet reads this and decides to put Lamborghini doors on the Corvette from the factory.

I think eray is for people who wants an awd corvette. I don’t think anyone gets a 67k corvette. 70% sold are either 2lt or 3lt. So anyone planning a build a stingray with msrp 90k should certainly consider eray. For 20k-25k You get AWD , extra HP and a consistent performance of 0-60 plus wider body. It will be a tough decision to make

I'm 28 when these came out. The first one in my area. They were taking it off the trailer. I had 75k cash for it and everything. This car is my dream production car its perfect in all the right ways. I told him let sit down and do the paper work. The manager came out and told me 95k. I walked away and still never bought one due to BS pricing. Sure I could order one but that shouldnt be the case also no where and i repeat no where in northern cali will order me on at msrp I've tried. So yeah I would need to travel to get one and at that point im just gonna move out of this state because it's so expensive Its a joke of a state and dealerships here destroyed the market of wanting to buy anything at all here.

Very interesting. The engine design basically simulates the effect of forced induction without requiring an external turbo or supercharger. I wonder how durable it will be?

Kids love a lot of these stereotypical old man cars, but as was stated, they can't even afford the insurance. Most couldn't even get them at 30. Your life has to go so right, so smooth, to end up with a car like this before 35. Even then most are driving their minivan or SUV to get groceries with the kids most of the time. If I buy a new car I think it will be an E-ray.

Porsche "Chalk" is nothing like this terrible pale green abortion. What focus group thought this color would sell? The new wheel design is really milk toast and unexciting. All C8s have leather interior. I just got my 2nd C8, 3LT and there was a 2LT with the GT2 seats. The door and other trim is pretty much indistinguishable between the two. The stitched leather center hub of the steering wheel is the only give a way.
