We've always made s'mores by first assembling them, then wrapping them in foil, and placing over the fire, so the chocolate and marshmallow melt together. I say that's the superior method than placing the marshmallow onto cold chocolate... but I'm sure this still tastes great as an indoor solution, when you're not near an open fire.

You may be right. I will say, though: with my method, it kinda toasts the graham crackers too. I’m not sure if you’d get that from oven heat, or if you need that direct flame. I’d be willing to try it though.

The best s’more you will have will be in your oven. Turn your broiler on and put your chocolate on the Graham cracker and put it under broiler for 20-30 seconds; just enough to soften but not melt the chocolate. Then put the marshmallow on the chocolate and back under the broiler until the top of the marshmallow is golden brown. Remove from oven and put the other Graham cracker on and that chocolate and marshmallow will melt together into each other and the texture is amazing.

This reminds me of when I was a kid, my friends and I loved to make s'mores!!! We lived on farms in the country, so we didn't have access to a store to buy chocolate bars. Instead, we'd use chocolate chips. We would go to a rural park and make a small bonfire and make our s’mores with our chocolate chips and Graham crackers plus the roasted marshmallows!!! Best times ever with friends!!!

With the amount of bots, fake reviews, sponsored commentary and lack of Amazon's own internal verification requirements for purchases or accounts, how do you typically get good information when selecting a product? Our family uses a LOT of Amazon, even subscribing to Amazon Prime. Our biggest problem however seems to be sorting through all of the fake information (which is how we've come to like this channel so much for its honest reviews).

A tip I learned in Girl Guides is to use digestive cookies that have chocolate on one side for making smores by fire. If you are making smores at home you can quickly make them in an oven, or microwave. For a treat I sandwich some mini marshmallows between two chocolate chip cookies, and put it in the microwave for about ten seconds. Just make sure to watch as marshmallows will quickly expand and make a mess if you are not careful.

I can never wait for the marshmallow to golden brown. I just always put a flame to them and wait less than a minute until the flame goes out by itself. That leaves a nice crunchy exterior and a nice melted center in a lot shorter time! Great, now I'm hungry. In my case, all I need as a smores maker is a Bic lighter and a stick (along with the grams, chocolate and marshmallows).

You don't even need to use a gadget, or a stove burner. Another way to roast marshmallows for s'mores is to put them on top of the graham cracker and place them in a warm oven for a short time, using a cookie sheet. Keep an eye on them - it only takes a few minutes. They'll roast nicely, and you can add the square of chocolate and second graham cracker square on top.
@trublgrl

Smores machine costs $30 and requires AC. A portable butane stove costs from $20 to $60 and can actually be used inside or taken outside to make s'mores in the wild without building a fire.

I think the main issue with this is that it's literally just an induction stove in a plastic base with a cover, so the heat isn't as powerful as something direct like fire. The marshmallows get too soft before the sugar can caramelize, while fire is hot enough to quickly caramelize the sugar on the outside of the marshmallow before the inside is liquid.
@xxgn
@xxgn Месяц назад
It's a conventional electric stove, not an induction stove. An induction stove would be even worse.
@Lovicide

If they made it slightly hotter and much longer marshmallow sticks, this would be a unique idea. Those short sticks would burn your fingers and probably tire out your arm holding, so at the very least a longer/retractable one should be included

I'm watching this and was writing a comment to try the indoor fire pit and then you did. As for the original product, single marshmellow was roasted over the center, where there's no heat source directly below. doing 2 at the same time was faster because both were directly over the heating element, that seems to circle around the middle

@benjamintan2733
@benjamintan2733 Месяц назад
I think this is one big missed opportunity: an automatic skewer rotator! Just put a marashmallow in the skewer and let it rotate slowly. Pick it up when it's cook. Anyway, the thing about slow is that you can actually talk to your friend while the marshmallow is cooking. Ideal for those who can't go for camping. Nice little trick, but hope the heating element is at least a little bit higher wattage, maybe 350W? And also, change the name from S'more Maker to Indoor BBQ or something. I bet the kids will really love this indoor cooking appliances as they can roast chicken part like they did in outdoor firepit. Nice little gimmicks, but I would love to have some when my nephew and niece visit me during raining season.
