I would like to read more on the story of Prophet Dawood(as), and I would like the Sayed to please shed light on the part of duas such as dua mashlool where Allah is called upon by saying "O you who forgave the sin of Dawood", what exactly is the sin he was forgiven for if he infact never committed one?

Salaam Alaykum. This is mentioned in Surah Saad Verse 21-26. According to Imam Reza, the 'mistake' that Prophet Dawud did was that he passed a comment without hearing the other side. So while it wasn't a mistake, it shows how diligent Allah wants his Prophets to be while passing judgement.

@@Thaqlain so in shia belief, Prophet Dawud never actually laid eyes on a beautiful woman and intentionally put her husband in harms way to be able to marry her?
@Thaqlain

Nope. These are part of Israeliyat and Ahlulbayt have strongly rejected them.

@@user-pf3vz3rd9h Shia have mutawatir narrations that Prophet Dawud and Prophet Sulaiman peace be upon them they judge based upon the reality meaning they do it directly without needing to bring witnesses. This is something God has given them to judge directly. The Mukhlasin in the Quran, Satan can not reach them and both Shi’a and Sunnis are united upon the fact that the Prophets are from the Mukhlasin and the Mukhlas is someone who doesn’t have a soul that encourage him to evil nor is he deceived by Satan. You can for example refer to the story of Satan. So, Prophet Dawud Peace be upon him is indeed from the Mukhlasin and if you read the verses before the story in Surah Saad God says that he gave Prophet Dawud فصل الخطاب meaning that he judges correctly. This verse is precisely before the story when Prophet Dawud hastened to give a comment on what happened between the two who came to him, and God specifically in that situation, wanted him to wait a little bit and listen to the other one, but Prophet Dawud peace be upon him disobeyed the recommended command.

Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id said in the book Al-Zuhd: لا خلاف بين علمائنا في أنهم (عليهم السلام) معصومون من كل قبيح مطلقا، وأنهم كانوا يسمون ترك المندوب ذنبا وسيئة بالنسبة إلى كمالهم (عليهم السلام) "There is no disagreement among our scholars that they (peace be upon them) are infallible from any reprehensible act, absolutely, and that they would refer to leaving a recommended act as a sin and a fault in relation to their perfection (peace be upon them)." So when the Prophets or the Imams peace be upon them refer to themselves as sinners in duas or in narration then this is not a legislative sin, as they consider leaving a recommended act as sin. Husayn bin Said lived with three imams, so he knew the Shi’a theology very very very well.

Every Prophet of God was told the prescriptions for their nation; regardless of what gender or position in society it is for. Obviously, those defending themselves against sexual assault would have the right to inflict whatever is necessary, but Al Quran 12.24 doesn't have the issue of his attempt, because it points out he wouldn't give in as a result of the divine signs he already saw.

It gives reason to consider them innocent, but it doesn't really show infallibility-like they have no free will and thus reward and punishment wouldn't really apply like accountable humans.

@@JaefarSABNW infallibility doesn't mean you don't have free will. It means that their god consciousness is at a level where they wouldn't choose to disobey Allah even if they could. Believing they are capable of following shaitan only makes a mockery out of religion because how can you follow such people who can go against Allah. They were created perfect
