Seems PlantYou has since revised her recipe for Fudgy Sweet Potato Brownies. I think it is ok to post it here, as it is free on her website. 1 cup mashed cooked sweet potato 1/2 cup nut butter 1/4 cup maple syrup 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1/4 cup oat flour 1/2 cup choc chips (opt) Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl, combine sweet potato, almond butter & maple syrup. In a separate bowl, combine oat flour & cocoa pdr. Mix in the choc chips if desired, & transfer to baking pan. Bake for about 30 min until set. Let cool before slicing.

Oh great! I like that there’s oat flour now… I’ve been making a variation with regular flour and it has been much better. 😅😅 I’ll have to give her new version a try. Thanks! 🤗

This is a older video, I just made the same brownies a few days ago. I added half a cup of oatmeal flower and they were delicious. I loved this video, by the way.❤❤❤

Oh nice! Glad to know it worked well with 1/2 c. of oatmeal flour! I've done a similar recipe to this now with all purpose flour and that works well too. 😀😀

I made this after trying the sweet potato pudding 😆 I added whole wheat flour thinking it would result in a better consistency, and I think it did that a bit, but you’re right it was still mushy on the inside. What I did is I sliced the portion I’m having and I put it in the freeze for about 30 minutes and that made the consistency so much better! Almost felt like a chocolate ice cream cake! Thank you for such a nice recipe ☺️🌱

Thank you for your review. I was literally just about to make these when I came across your video. I was thinking that they would come out looking just like the picture but now I have a better expectation. Even for how long to keep them in the oven; 30 mins not 15.

I know this will deviate from the recipe, but I think maybe adding oat flour (just ground up oatmeal) would help in firming up / soak up some of the moisture, all without loosing a) health benefits or b) the WFPB + no oil tags.
@LetsEatPlants
@LetsEatPlants Год назад
I think you're right! I ended up making a similar recipe a few months ago with flour (or you could use white whole wheat to keep it WFPB friendly) and it worked *much* better, so I definitely think some kind of flour type substance is needed! 😅

I was thinking of adding some vegan chocolate protein powder! Wouldn't affect the recipe, plus it would absorb some excess moisture and help provide stability. It's just prone to burning, so anything higher than 350F would probably scorch it

Hi there! I’ve successfully subbed sweet potato for the delicata squash in the brownie recipe from this video! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UxnfVeUU5lk.htmlsi=XIClJu3oFvHAWYXS They are still quite fudgey when using sweet potato, but I think having flour in the batter does make them better overall. 😋😋

Thanks for your review-you have contagious energy, and even though this comes a year later, I have to put my two cents in… I haven’t tried these brownies, but I’d baked a lot in my 70 years. I’d be hard pressed to comment on texture & taste if I hadn’t followed the recipe as written. You used a mixture of peanut butter & almond butter & if I watched correctly, the almond butter was kind of runny. Using cacao instead of cocoa powder probably took away some of the sweetness. And lastly, a blender cannot compare to a food processor-a hand blender or even giving it some good elbow grease & blending the batter by hand would’ve been more appropriate.
@LetsEatPlants

Aw thank you! 🤗🤗 Very true and all great points!! However the recipe creator herself has actually said the recipe doesn’t turn out like the photo. Turns out it’s actually a stock photo. 😅 So while I do agree to achieve the same results you should follow a recipe.. I don’t think that was the issue in this case. 😆😆 But since you have a lot of baking experience, what would you suggest to add to make it less fudgey and more cakey like the pic? 🤔🤔 Would love to hear your input! 🤩

😄😄 Totally! Taste-wise they were good! And a lot of people are into that fudgey style brownie ... so maybe for some ppl the gooey texture is actually a bonus. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Either way, they definitely satisfy chocolate cravings while still being pretty healthy! 🌱✨

I think if u do it with Japanese sweet potatoes, the texture will be more like brownie as Japanese sweet potatoes are firmer and not so mushy when cooked

I love your energy, you have some great videos! I was very interested to see what you thought about this recipe because if I'm being honest I don't LOVE sweet potatoes, I eat them every once in a while but I'm not a typical vegan when it comes to the love of sweet potatoes lol. These do not look like they would work without parchment, seems like the pudding might be the way to go. I really love your editing style as well. I also have a channel where I share vegan eats and sustainability tips, I'd love for you to check it out. Otherwise thanks so much for sharing your baking adventure with us. 🙂💚🌎💙

@@LetsEatPlants I'd love to see it re-done, maybe a couple ways, to try to remedy the moisture/texture issues. I feel like adding some flour & maybe a little baking powder, will end with a slightly more dough-y/bread-y texture? Though it definitely seems like the sweet potato / fiber retains a lot of moisture? Just thinking that something else that absorbs excess moisture might help even it out...?
